Holidays in Coverack

Located on the Lizard Peninsula, Coverack is a small fishing village steeped in history, with its harbour dating back to 1724. Though the cove itself is sheltered, the area was once notorious for shipwrecks due to the Manacles Reef just a few miles along the coast. Today, the village is a calm and peaceful haven, perfect for a Cornish holiday.

Visit Coverack and you can spend your days meandering through the traditional harbour town, enjoying food from one of the restaurants or cafes, relaxing on the beach, enjoying coastal walks or simply soaking up the seaside views.

Protected from the south westerly winds, Coverack is a fantastic location to try a range of watersports, including stand up paddleboarding, kayaking and windsurfing. If you’re new to these activities, consider booking lessons, or if you’re more experienced, you hire equipment in the village.

Did you know...

in Cornish, Coverack means 'cove of the stream'.

Things to do in Coverack

Coverack Beach

Enjoy the small sandy and pebbly beach, which is life guarded during the summer season, and allows dogs year round (they must be kept on leads during the summer months). Coverack beach is popular with families and is ideal for swimming and rock-pooling.

Watersports

For the more adventurous, Coverack has its own windsurfing centre where you can take lessons and courses in windsurfing. The conditions in Coverack are among the best for windsurfing in Cornwall. Or, why not hire a stand up paddle board or kayak from the centre and experience the bay from a completely different angle?

Alternatively, some choose to take the adventures below water; due to the many shipwrecks off the coast, the area is popular with divers who wish to explore the area under the sea.

Walking

With easy access onto the South West Coast Path, Coverack is popular with walkers. Head North towards Porthhallow, and South towards Cadgwith. Whichever direction you choose to walk, you'll be treated to stunning sea views.

Food and Drink

There are a selection of places to eat and drink in Coverack, including the local pub, The Paris Hotel, named after the ship which ran aground in 1899; The Lifeboat House which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and take-away food, with the main focus being fish; the restaurant at The Bay Hotel serving a selection of fresh, local food and a selection of smaller cafes serving teas, coffees, cakes and ice creams.

Gorgeous cottage and place to stay! Lovely and clean and beautiful location!

perfect location in coverack , great views from the bay window and velux windows. large property 3 bedrooms, great parking options for 2/3 cars, outside seating areas x 3 to follow the sun, little lean to shed ideal for storing, kayaks/paddlebords etc, this could be a fantastic place needs some tlc and thought going into and little bit of detail.

wasn't clean when we got there! looked like this has been left since the last clean as wasn't booked the week prior. looks like house keeper just dropped the fresh milk in the fridge and went. we had to spend the first few hours cleaning not a great start to your holiday. dusty and hairs in bathroom broken glass on the floor, en suite shower full of mould on silicone and tiles , a decent cleaner would clear that or re seal it. the shower tray doesn't drain so overflows. house smells, think more to do with not being aired. had to go and buy several air fresheners to dot around the house this didn't go even after us being there 8 days windows open air fresheners. filler been used in upstairs bathroom not bothered to paint it or sand it down.

there was human hairs in the cutlery tray not acceptable. food debris in the cutlery draws. plates and cups look like they have been there since the owners had it as cups are stained etc, few new ones added but mailny old stuff. miss mash equipment. manky wooden old utensils. the mirror issues, there is enough mirrors but needs a full length mirror ideally. this could be a fantastic property needs a bit of tlc. short cuts been taken to get this on the market i think. raised these issues with aspects, rosina offered to send cleaner back but shouldn't have to do that

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We were most concerned to learn of this. It appears that some areas were inadvertently overlooked, which falls short of our expectations and it is unfortunate that by the time we were made aware and offered to send the housekeeper back, you had already cleaned up yourselves. We apologise for the inconvenience you experienced . Your feedback has been relayed to the property owner and their housekeeper, along with your valuable suggestions. When we first took on the property in April, it met the standard expected by our guests but it seems that unforeseen changes may have occurred during the busy season. Rosina will inspect the property and report any necessary actions to the owner, who in the time that we have worked together, has always strived to rectify any issues that have been raised, as quickly as possible. Thank you so much for letting us know, and we were so glad to hear you still really liked the property and the brilliant location.

Coverack is tranquil. Sandpiper cuts a few corners. Take your own dishwasher tablets, mirrors, tea & coffee.

We are glad to hear that you liked Coverack. This property certainly is in a lovely location. We were sorry to hear that you felt corners had been cut though. Each property owner will provide their own welcome pack, so the amount included will vary. While this owner provides tea, coffee, and dishwasher tablets as part of their welcome pack, we will pass on your additional feedback to the owner that more than the allocated amount, would be appreciated. We are a little confused about the mirrors though, as the owner has quite a few of these available in the property already. We will continue to monitor for any further feedback on this though, so that we can pass any suggestions on to the owners for their future consideration. Thanks for taking the time to send in your comments and we hope that you still enjoyed your break. Aspects Holidays, Customer Services

A lovely property and so well located for the beach and village amenities , plus parking on site. No boundary gates so younger children need to be supervised if playing outside.
