St Pirans Day Celebrations

Gool Perran Lowen - Happy St Piran's Day in Cornish!

St Piran's Day, celebrated on March 5th, is the national day of Cornwall, named after one of Cornwall's patron saints. According to legend, St Piran, a 5th century Irish Abbot, was thrown into the sea in Ireland tied to a mill stone; somehow he washed up on the Cornish coast still alive. He made Cornwall his new home and became the patron saint of tin-miners after rediscovering tin smelting.

Today, Cornwall still celebrates his heritage. On the closest Sunday to St Piran's day, Perranorth hosts one of the largest St Piran's celebrations. Held at the dunes on Perranporth, a play is performed to re-enact St Piran's life. Spectators are welcomed and encouraged to dress in black, white and gold, the colours of Cornwall.

Other celebrations will be held in various locations across Cornwall.

Sep 2019

Endless Summer is located around a 35 minute walk outside Newquay town centre or 5 minutes in the car if you choose to drive in, the beaches of Crantock and Fistral are both walkable in around 15 minutes. Being outside of town it was very quiet at night so we were able to get a undisturbed nights sleep. Pentire headland is a short walk away and is a fantastic place on a clear evening to observe the amazing sunsets. The off road parking for our car was first class with plenty of room. The accommodation was as described and we had no issues with anything in the property.

The owners who live on sight are very friendly and made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived.

Jul 2019

A great little property ideal for two people, ideally located for Fistral beach and Newquay amenities

Jul 2019

Jul 2019

We stayed at Endless Summer in June this year. I admit when I first saw I thought it was very small, but in fact it was just the right size for the two of us for a week. It had everything you could need. The family were very nice and welcoming, we had our pet with us, she is a cat and she was made as welcome as we were and had the run of the garden . A most enjoyable week. My husband has mobility problems, because the cottage was so compact he had no problems with it.

Jun 2019

Owners dogs were very friendly. Location was brilliant, 10 mimute walk to fistral beach and 20 minute walk to newquay - recommend going to the haber. We barely used the car as most was in walking distance. Beautiful garden and cute little apartment. Would definitely recommend

Jun 2019

We had a lovely holiday at Endless Summer with our dog.

The property was very cosy and comfortable and nicely decorated. The bathroom wasn’t as high standard as the rest of the property but it was very clean and in good working order.

There are several beaches in walking distance and supermarkets only 5/10 minutes away by car.

We would recommend staying here to others as it is a really lovely place in a great location.

Apr 2018

The flat is very nice and lovingly furnished and I enjoyed the breathtaking view from the terrace to the gannel. The housekeeper were very kind and helpful. I loved my holiday there and I'll try to come back soon.

Oct 2017

The family were really nice and thank you to them for letting us borrow wetsuit etc

Oct 2017

We stayed at endless summer for a week & we would of loved to of stayed longer, the views from the back garden really do make the place they are stunning, there are no views from the cottage. We did think the garden that was shown was just for us but it is shared, this wasn't a problem as the owners were at work & they made us very welcome. For the price & the time of year we went we will definitely be returning, we had a lovely holiday there.
