Holidays in Bude

Bude is a coastal town in the north of Cornwall, situated at the mouth of the river Neet. There are a number of excellent beaches in and around the town, such as Summerleaze and Crooklets, as well as Widemouth Bay a little further south.

Bude has so much to offer, including a fabulous town with a wide selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. In addition, visitors can meander along Bude Canal, or enjoy a gentle cruise in a pedal boat or kayak, observing the beautiful area from a different angle. The town is home to the historic Bude Sea Pool and The Castle Bude, both a must if you are in the area.

For those who enjoy walking, the South West Coast Path can be easily access from Bude, head south in the direction of Crackington Haven or North towards Morwenstow. You’ll be blown away by the stunning scenery and breathtaking views along the coastline.

With so much on the doorstep, it’s the perfect destination for a holiday by the sea!

Top tip

Take a dip in the historic Bude Sea Pool at Summerleaze Beach!

Beaches in Bude

Crooklets Beach

At low tide, a large expanse of golden sand is exposed, along with rocky outcrops which are great for rock pooling. The beach can be reached by a short walk over Summerleaze Down or down the hill from the town centre. Crooklets is very popular with surfers, but also perfect for families, with great facilities including a large car park, beach café, skate park, showers, and pubs close by. Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 15th May and 30 September, 10am to 6pm when a seasonal dog ban is in place.

Summerleaze Beach

Boasting the iconic Sea Pool, and only a five minute walk from the centre of Bude, Summerleaze Beach is Bude’s central hub of sand, surf and sun. It’s the first port of call for many visitors. Clean, safe and easy on the eye, Summerleaze Beach is a big hit with surfers, sun-bathers and families. However, it is the sheer variety of activities that mark Summerleaze as arguably one of the best beaches in Cornwall for outdoor pursuits and water sports. Dogs are welcome but must be on leads from 21st May to 30th September from 10am-6pm.

Widemouth Bay Beach

Stretching across one and a half miles of golden sands, Widemouth Bay is divided into two halves, the North beach and the South beach, separated by a natural barrier of rock known as Black Rock. As the tide retreats, amazing rock formations are exposed - perfect for rock-pooling!

Northcott Mouth Beach

Three miles North of Bude, is the small rocky beach Northcott Mouth, owmed by the National Trust. As the tide drops, the beach opens up to expansive sand with rock pools dotted all around - perfect for exploring. Dogs welcomed all year round.

Sandymouth Beach

Four miles North of Bude is the National Trust beach, Sandymouth. Backed by sweeping cliffs, this large sandy beach is popular all year round, especially with dog owners as it welcomes dogs year round.

A very comfortable apartment with a modern feel. Very comfy beds. Location about a 15 mins walk to the town & beach.

A clean and well presented apartment, good location, close to beach and shops. Milk, sugar & biscuits a welcome addition. A very pleasant stay

Lovely apartment, modern design, high quality throughout- short walk from the beach and town. A fantastic stay!!

Apartment 3 Cooper Hawk is ideal for a holiday in Bude as it is an easy walk to the town centre and the beach.

The apartment itself was immaculately clean, spacious, nicely decorated and very comfortable. In addition, it has a designated parking bay.

I would certainly recommend this property for a holiday.

Luxurious furnishings, very spacious, well equipped apartment with parking right outside. An unexpected welcome pack during these pandemic times was an added bonus. Excellent location, choice of beaches and town centre all within walking distance. We tried out local recommendations - the Olive Tree and The Plaice for takeaway fish and chips. Both were great with huge portions. ‘Jude from Bude‘ and Gareth from the Aspects Bude office couldn’t have been more helpful. Would highly recommend this apartment.

Apartment 3 Coopers Hawk is very comfortable, warm and well situated for Bude and its amenities plus parking makes it an ideal place to stay. Jude & Gareth are a credit to Aspects and their help, advice and knowledge was greatly appreciated. We would definitely book again.

The apartment was exactly as described and very comfortable for the three of us. The beach was about 15 minutes walk and the town a similar distance. The road outside is quite busy, however as a base for days out at the sea we were really impressed. Aspects was fabulous to deal with and we received exceptional service throughout. Will definitely look to rebook with them again.

This fantastic, comfortable and modern apartment has everything you need for an amazing holiday, better than home! Thank you

A lovely holiday flat, perfect for our family. Close to the beach and town. Quality interiors, comfortable beds and lovely fluffy towels.
