St Ives Harbour

The Wharf, otherwise known as St Ives harbour, is a hive of activity throughout the year. With a continual hustle and bustle on the water and along the harbour front, there is always plenty to do and see while self catering at the Wharf, even at the quieter times of the year.  It’s an ever changing scene so perfect for those artists among you. Don’t forget about the very sheltered, sandy Harbour Beach, a perfect sun-trap in the heart of town and a great place to find seaglass and sea pottery! As night falls at the end of another perfect day, St Ives comes alive with a selection of bars, restaurants and cafés to suit every pocket and every taste in a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Things to do at the Wharf

Boat Trips

Why not enjoy the scenery by boat and explore the coastline with an excursion with St Ives Boat Trips. Fishing trips are available for those looking for a bit of adventure, or for a more relaxing experience, a visit to seal island lets you see seals basking on the rocks at certain times of year.

Eating and Drinking

The Wharf is home to a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, serving up fresh fish and chips to gourmet burgers, with something to suit everyone. Enjoy an ice cream or Cornish pasty and watch the world go by on the harbour front, but remember to keep your wits about you; seagulls in St Ives are renowned for swooping in and stealing food right from your hands!

Smeaton's Pier

From here you'll get a stunning view of the harbour, and an up close view of the crystal clear waters. At the entrance to the pier you'll find St Leonard's Chapel; originally dedicated for local fisherman, it is now a museum and memorial for the fisherman of St Ives.

Lifeboat station

Home to the new £1.5 million lifeboat, the RNLI lifeboat station is a popular attraction for visitors to St Ives. The gift shop next door sells souvenirs where all profits go towards helping to save lives at sea.

September 2018

Wonderful stay for our 1st holiday with our little boy. With him going to bed early we were still able to sit with a glass of wine looking out over the harbour for a lovely romantic evening. Perfect location.

May 2018

Perfect property to watch the sunrise and right in the heart of it all! Has everything you need and more! Look forward to visiting again!

April 2018

Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, but there are usually 5 of us and Starfish only sleeps 4.

April 2018

Comfy, cosy and a cracking view.

February 2018

Lovely apartment. Amazing views and perfect location. Having a car parking space is so helpful and makes the whole stay stress free.

January 2018

A lovely holiday in a beautiful apartment with such an amazing view . it is in such a convenient location and you have everything you need right there, with the added bonus of a parking space close by!, we hope to come back in the future !!!

January 2018

A great apartment in a good location for easy access into St Ives. The view is just stunning worth getting up for the sunrise.

August 2017

A wonderful property giving us a great experience in the most beautiful of settings in St Ives. Giving us the most stunning views from morning until evening and conveniently situated close to everywhere. Would definitely recommend and come again.

August 2017

very good place to stay, location is excellent

March 2017

A lovely apartment with fabulous views and very convenient. Very easy to keep clean and well equipped. The welcome pack was both lovely and generous. The car parking space is distant (10 minutes walk) and would be challenging if you were elderly (steep) or had young children (awkward no pavement roads). Expensive, but would consider again for the views and location. The fore street location is not the quietest but were not unduly disturbed.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are really glad that you enjoyed Starfish Dreams, the views are absolutely stunning over the harbour and the location is perfect with everything on your doorstep. We have taken on board your comments regarding the walk to and from the allocated parking space, so thank you very much for highlighting this; the property team are looking into it further and will make any necessary changes. St Ives is an extremely popular area to visit, so it is more expensive than other areas within Cornwall, but we hope that the pricing runs in line with other agencies and comparable properties in the area. We look forward to welcoming you back! :) Maddie, Customer Services.

Starfish dreams is suited perhaps to younger people who want to be in the town centre. Just be prepared for noise!

Thank you for leaving your feedback on Starfish dreams, we are really sorry that you experienced a lot of noise during your stay. We try to be as open and honest as possible with our property descriptions, so try to highlight the location of this property as much as possible, stating in the property description that due to the apartment being situated within the heart of Fore Street, you may hear the hustle and bustle associated with being in such a central location from the local shops and busy restaurants. This may not suit everyone, so please do not hesitate to contact our sales team, who are always very happy to help advise on the best/most suitable locations. We really do hope that you still had a great time here and otherwise enjoyed this lovely property. Maddie, Customer Services.

An excellent location and well-equipped apartment!

December 2016

Fabulous 10 day holiday, our second visit to Starfish dreams and if we are lucky it won't be our last. Stunning views and just two flights of stairs to the shops and everything St ives has to offer. The attention to detail and quality of every thing from kitchen accessories to bedlinen is very good. Also nice little touches including a welcome pack, crisps and wine, not forgetting the cornish cream teas from the Allotment Deli across the road and of course milk in the fridge. We look forward to our return. Thank you! LB

November 2016

Beautiful apartment with stunning views. Expect noise, you are in the thick of the entertainment. It was settled by midnight in September when we stayed here.

September 2016

The aptartment is in an excellent location and the views are spectacular. We have had a lovely week here and will definately come again.Mrs E Naughton.

April 2016

Location and views fantastic. Noise and steps make it difficult with young children. Don't believe anything about noise cancelling windows. You will be kept awake Friday and Saturday nights with bars and live music and woken early with waste collection and street cleaning throughout your stay.

We are sorry to hear that there were a couple of areas that weren't quite what you expected from this property. The property is in a great central location, where you can step out onto Fore Street, but have the benefit of being able to watch over the amazing views of the harbour from the sitting/dining area, and whilst there have been noise cancelling windows fitted, they will not completely eliminate all noise. There are some steps up to the apartment, so it may not be suitable for everyone; we are very sorry if this was more than expected. We have since removed the wording about noise cancelling windows, and re-worded the note about the location, to avoid any confusion or expectation that these will eliminate ALL noise. Thank you for taking the time to send in your comments. Tanya, Customer Services.

This apartment was perfect for our short break in our favourite place. The location is so convenient for the beaches and the shops. There was no need to eat out because we had amazing views and the apartment was so cosy. It is extremely well equipped and tastefully decorated.

April 2016

Starfish Dreams is a superb location and offers everything St. Ives can offer. Just fabulous.

January 2016

Fabulous apartment, superb views, easy parking. Totally relaxing holiday home with high spec mod cons, would defiantly stay in this property again

October 2015

Fantastic location, lovely apartment with lots of facilities and furnished to a very high standard. Amazing view across the harbour! Does get noisy at night on Fore Street but otherwise a lovely stay, we will definitely be coming again!

Thank you for your comments and so glad to hear that you liked it here. Being in such a fantastic central location, you may hear some of the hustle and bustle of the town at times, but we hope that you agree that it is absolutely worth it for the amazing views and being just a few steps from everything that St Ives has to offer. Hopefully see you again soon! Tanya, Customer Services.

Very nice property fitted to a high standard in a central location and value for money.
