We stayed in Lobster Retreat as a group of 7 during the St Ives Sea Shanty shout festival. The house was lovely and warm during our stay and very comfortably furnished. It is a short walk into town and located on a very quiet street. While there is no parking there is space to unload in front of the house. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped for making dinner for a group.

St Ives Town

Many of our larger town houses are situated just a couple of minutes’ walk from the centre and these offer ideal family accommodation, many with gardens, something of a rarity in St Ives. If all that shopping and socialising gets too much, you can always get away from it all and relax in the tranquil setting of Trewyn Gardens, a real little haven, tucked away in the heart of the town.

So, for self catering holidays in St Ives with everything on your doorstep, the town is the place to be.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Although we have since been in contact to discuss this, I wanted to again apologise that there was a problem in one of the rooms during your stay. As stated within our literature, due to the building materials commonly used in constuction of a lot of the more traditional buildings here, being so close to the sea, and the slightly more humid conditions here in Cornwall; some properties can be more susceptible to damp than others, so we always recommend contacting us at time of booking, if this may be a concern for any member of your party. We are happy to advise on where may be most suitable. That said, this is not something that we had been previously aware of at this property, and this has since been investigated, with the owners organising builders to carry out work at the property to resolve this. Thank you for making us aware, and once again, we are so sorry that this had occurred during your time here. Tanya, Customer Services
