This traditional Cornish cottage is situated in a traffic-free, pedestrian-only location just moments from the sand and surf of Porthmeor beach. 2 The Upper Meadow is ideal for small families or couples looking for a bolt hole from which to experience all that St Ives has to offer. The cobbled streets lined with independent shops, galleries and restaurants are within a pleasant stroll.

We loved staying at 2 The Upper Meadow , the cottage was beautifully clean and the location was fabulous we had a brilliant week there.

The house is compact but contains everything necessary. We especially loved the painting of the harbour that had been done directly onto the living room wall.

The Tate is a must; something everyone should visit at least once, or simply relax and enjoy the view from one of our many self-catering beach-front apartments. Most of the town and all it has to offer is a level walk from Porthmeor, making it many of our guests' first choice of location. Many Porthmeor properties offer parking and most have superb beach views and balconies.

Local events

St Ives Feast Day

Held on the anniversary of the consecration of the Parish Church of St Eia in 1434 AD, Feast Day offers visitors to witness - and even join in with - some centuries-old traditions. A morning precesison led by the Mayor to bless the Well of St Eia. Following this, the Mayor will 'Hurls the Silver Ball' into a crowd of children who assemble on the beach below. The one who returns the ball to the Guildhall steps by midday receives a silver coin. In the afternoon the Mayor then throw pennies from the balcony of the Guildhall for children to collect.
