Avarack is a semi-detached property located in the rural village of Pendeen, with incredible sea and countryside views from the rear of the property. Avarack is the perfect choice for getting away from it all. This three bedroom home is beautifully furnished throughout, with patio doors that lead from the spacious sitting room into the garden. There is plenty of off road parking and a lovely feeling of a home from home.

'The Avarack' is a coastal feature on the cliffs a quarter a mile below the house, which at low tide forms a natural 'pool'. Perfectly located for the chance to revel in nature and explore the far west of Cornwall, Avarack is only a 20 minute drive away from Land's End or Cape Cornwall, the only cape in England. Situated conveniently, only a two minute walk away are the two local pubs, The Radjel and The North Inn, when you are ready to reflect on the days sights and sounds. Or you may prefer to just enjoy a glass of wine sitting in the garden of Avarack entertained by the wildlife and tranquil views.

Avarack was a lovely, comfortable home from home, well worth the 7 hr journey down from Yorkshire. The house has everything you need. It’s conveniently situated in Pendeen. The South West Coastpath is a mile away and easily accessible by foot for spectacular walks. There’s a well stocked Spar a couple of minutes down the road and a good pub (North Inn) just beyond that does scrummy food. Can highly recommend Avarack and the surrounding area.

Holidays in Pendeen

Once a thriving mining area, Pendeen is home to the award winning Geevor Tin Mine Museum, which was one of the last mines in the country to close. Retaining the feel of a traditional Cornish village, and with stunning scenery on the doorstep, Pendeen is perfect for a self catering summer holiday, out of season visit, or short break.

Although secluded, theres still plenty on offer in this part of West Cornwall. Situated in a National Landscape (formerly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), Pendeen is also recognised as a site of special scientific interest and a world heritage site. Pendeen is the perfect place to explore the ancient sites of Chun Castle and Chun Quoit, and the rugged coastline for which North Cornwall is renowned. Walkers will be in their element with access to the South West Coast Path, and many inland walks.

Top tip

Visit the Count House Cafe at Geevor Tin Mine for breakfast or lunch with a view!

A spacious modern house in the village of Pendeen, ideally placed for exploring West Penwith.

We would highly recommend this property. It is more spacious than appears from the photos as it extends a long way back. Perfect accommodation for our family (2 young adult sons). We've stayed in lots of holiday cottages in the UK, and this is one of the best. Everything you could possibly need was provided (eg washing line, clothes airer, good kitchen equipment), which isn't always the case. House finished to a high spec, lovely decor, comfortable beds. Nice sea views. We liked the location - easy walk to coastline and tin mines. Village pub has a friendly vibe. St Just is nearby and has a good Co-op. Access to Netflix wasn't possible, but we were not bothered, as we were watching Poldark on iPlayer!

Thanks once again for a fantastic stay. House is so big and airy and the view is amazing. We are completely in love with this place and can’t wait to come back.

Modern, clean, spacious and well presented property. Everything you would need for a comfortable holiday. In a good location for visiting other places and for coastal path. Good local pub and shop.

We’ve stayed at Avarak a few times and always look forward to going back . A clean & comfortable cottage which provides everything you need.

We have stayed at Avarak a few times now and is a very comfortable property that suits our needs for our stay in Pendeen. If you want to stay in the Pendeen area this property has three nice sized and comfortable bedrooms with the kitchen / dining area that has everything you need and all in a good condition. The living area also is very comfortable. All-in-all we were very happy with this accommodation and have already booked our next two stays. As mentioned in previous reviews there is no recycling and the information where to take it is incorrect as all supermarkets have removed this facility and although it has outside clothes line and clothe airer there is no tumble dryer which would be useful when the weather is poor, but both not show stoppers for us.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are pleased you had a lovely stay at Avarack, and that found the property to be a home-from-home during your time in Pendeen - so much so you have booked your next two stays! Thank you for letting us know about the recycling information, we will make sure all information is up to date in the welcome folder, including the recycling guidelines, so that future guests know exactly what to do. Your comments regarding a tumble dryer have also been passed along to the property owner to take into consideration for future improvements. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! This property is just lovely. Great location, lovely and quiet. Loads of space just a lovely house to be in.

Lovely comfortable accommodation in an ideal area for our needs. Thanks you

Avarack is a nice property with a lovely layout and furnishing and is located in the quiet town of Pendeen. It is a comfortable house with sufficient equipment.

Avarack cottage was our 7th in Cornwall and easily the best and the most comfortable. Everything worked well and the cottage was immaculate and very clean. The location was perfect for us in west Cornwall with views over the sea from the sun deck. The off road car parking was spacious and right next to the cottage. The lounge was large. The good TV had a few extra services (eg.Netflix). The heating was fine. We did not have to adjust it but it was adjustable if needed.

Avarack is a well equipped, very comfortable house in a great location. We went to do some rock climbing, surfing and walking on the coastal path - it was excellent for all of these. We enjoyed the beach at Sennen, walking the coastal path to Cape Cornwall (lovely tidal pool) and climbing at Sennen and Bosigran (excellent cream tea at the cottage 1/2 mile south of Bosigran). We also had some excellent meals at the Shore in Penzance and the Tolcane Inn in Newlyn.

Location was very picturesque with rear views overlooking the sea. The property was bright and modern with a well equipped kitchen. Overall our stay was very enjoyable.

A beautiful house. It was perfect for us!! Loved it!!! ??

Avarack was a lovely place to stay. The house had everything we needed. Good location for exploring the area - Penzance only 15 mins away and St Ives can be reached by bus (which is good as there’s never anywhere to park in St Ives). The local pub, the North Inn serves good food and a good pint!

Felt at home straight away at Avarack. It is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. In a lovely part of Cornwall, the cottage is quiet and relaxing but conveniently close to a well stocked shop and two pubs. We hope to return soon.

Wonderful place to stay. Iv lost count as to how many times we’ve stayed here and we just love it. Lovely bright and spacious house and the view is just great. Great location for beaches, walking and exploring or just sitting in the garden as it’s nice and quiet.

We loved staying at Avarack. It is a lovely property with plenty of room, spotlessly clean with high end fixtures and fittings and an ideal location for exploring this part of Cornwall. 10/10. Highly recommended. A special mention must go to the ladies at Aspect's Penzance office. We needed some extra items during our stay and they dropped them off straight away including a pressie for our little granddaughter.....outstanding service!

Lovely stay at Avarack. All the rooms are really spacious and had everything we needed and more. The house was so clean and the biscuits and bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely welcome. Location was great as can walk to some lovely coves and bus stop just nearby to get to Sennon, St Ives and Lands End.

This was our 4th visit and Avarack really is like a second home! It is always spotless when we arrive which sets the tone for the holiday. The area has so much to offer that you don't need to travel far unless you want to and the shops in St Just are very good, butchers particularly is excellent. Excellent walking centre. Aspects are very efficient and helpful.

Beautiful & clean, well equipped house with everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Beautiful view from the garden. Plus bonus of fantastic weather. Nice pubs within walking distance and amazing coastline.

We really enjoyed our stay at Avarack. The accommodation was well appointed and very comfortable. It was easy to get to the places we like to visit and within easy reach of the two pubs. The local shop is very well supplied.

Averack is a fabulous property ,it is very well equipped with everything you would need for a great easy comfortable stay ,the location is brilliant ,it’s peaceful and the house has a lovely clean peaceful feeling ,we love it and have now been rebooking it for a few years , Also it is great value ??

Had a lovely relaxing holiday & Avarack came up trumps in every aspect. The North Inn was really good for food, excellent Sunday lunch & selection of curries. Our holiday started on the 5th November so beware a lot of places shut down but I don't think anyone would starve, plenty of sources of food. Sennen market on Tuesdays a good bet, also Dog & Rabbit at St. Just. Overall Avarack is good value for money & will return if the opportunity presents itself.

We love Averack , we have stayed 4 or 5 times , we go twice a year to Cornwall and have been going for over 10 years , Averack is the Best place we have stayed in It is brilliant value Top quality of everything Very well equipped Very clean indeed Beds are very comfortable We just love it Oh and get a very generous welcome pack ?? we feel that we are being looked after and spoilt ????

We were very satisfied. The house fully met our expectations. Very clean, well equipped, parking and processing by Aspect Holidays were once again great, big compliment. Would be happy to recommend Aspect Holidays. Renate and Martin - Switzerland

Had a lovely holiday plenty of room in the cottage would come back.

Smart,clean,well-appointed and easily accessible property in an excellent location.

This was our third stay at Avarack and we have just booked number four which says it all really!
Our longest trips were to Perranuthnoe and Godrevy, neither of which are far away so we spent our entire holiday in a very compact area but there is so much to do that you are never short of activities, mainly walking for us. Portheras and Porthgwarra are two of our favourites. Avarack is a perfect base to come home to and is very well equipped with everything you need. Lots of farm shops for delicious local food. Aspects are always helpful and efficient. Thank you!

Avarack was exactly as described on your website, it was very, very well equipped, spotlessly clean, quiet, a true home from home, which several others have said in their reviews. We hope to return at some point

We had a really lovely stay at Avarack. Our accommodation was far better than we had expected, the photos didn't do it justice. The open-topped bus to St Ives was an experience not to be missed! We were disappointed with Lands End though, a lot of work in progress. Can't recommend the North Inn enough, (especially Sunday Lunch and the steaks). We were made very welcome by the staff and also the locals.

Very comfortable house and quiet location Easy to explore the local area without driving to far.

Avarack is a beautiful property in a good location for exploring the South West of Cornwall. The house is spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. The village has a local store, Fish and Chip shop and several pubs and eateries. There is ample parking for two cars and there are sea views to the rear of the property. The only negative comment is that the floorboards upstairs are very noisy which might be a problem for some.

This home is one of the best we have stayed in Very well equipped with the best quality of everything you could possibly think of , spotlessly clean and very comfortable and affordable , We have been several times now and it feels like home, We love it x

We stayed at Avarack for 12 nights whilst completing on the purchase of our new home which was a 5 minute walk away. It was so lovely to come back to a clean, comfortable and well equipped property after a day of painting and moving furniture around!

We will definitely recommend Avarack to friends visiting the area.

Lovely house, very clean and had everything we could possibly need. Great location in terms of visiting other things in Cornwall but it isn’t as near the beach as the description sounds, which we were a bit disappointed with but we did drive to several beautiful nearby beaches during our stay.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are very sorry if the description made it sound like this property was right on the cliffs, as we try to ensure that our photos and descriptions are accurate and honest. We have always tried to give an idea of the proximity to the coast in the photos and whilst it is a walkable distance for those who like to explore on foot; the walk isn't for everyone, so we have now amended the description to highlight that the property is ¼ mile from the coast. For those who don't fancy that walk, there are many beautiful coves, beaches, and villages to explore within a short drive from the property. We are glad that you still enjoyed the location and hopefully it is somewhere that you would still return to if you were ever coming back to Cornwall. Tanya, Customer Services

Averack is a stunning place to stay
Very well equipped and of high standard, everything was so spotless We had a fabulous comfortable stay, We have stayed there a couple of times and can’t wait to go again ! Aspect properties are the best !

Nice property- better in real than pics. Location is great on the calmer side of Cornwall. Beach near by, great pizza place in ST Just. Would visit again.

A well maintained and beautifully decorated home from home. Exceptionally well equipped, excellent location. V warm welcome. The house is v creaky. This was not a huge problem for us but did disturb our family at night if someone got up - This would have been a problem when my (light sleeping) boys were young. Loved this part of the Cornish coast. Family of 5, Hertfordshire (boys 11, 15, 16 years)

Thank you so much for sending in your feedback. The owners are always very grateful for constructive comments as they would always want everything to be just right for their guests. Having now received a few comments on this, they had a flooring specialist attend which temporarily improved this. Unfortunately, there is currently no permanent solution to this, but the owners will continue to investigate any options that may improve this in the future. We are really pleased to hear how much you enjoyed this property and this beautiful part of Cornwall and we hope that we will see you back again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Aspect Holidays have been a breeze to deal with, from booking to receiving welcome information. Our cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We loved it and would have no hesitation using Aspect Holidays or returning to the cottage we booked. Thank you Aspect.

Lovely place with beautiful surroundings. Had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Would certainly return.

Second visit and third one already booked! Very good location. This was our first Spring stay at Avarack and the flowers on the cliffs were just beautiful. As usual we wore out our shoes rather than our car!

Avarack is superbly equipped and very comfortable with great sea views from all the back rooms. We found the village very nice and quiet, handy village store and a couple of pubs. The location is great for exploring southwest Cornwall.

Averack is one of the best places we have stayed in, very well equipped with everything you would possibly need and more, everything was top quality, the house was soooo spotless the sofas where just soooo comfortable , the beds and bedding lovely , could not fault the place at all , can not wait to return

This was our second stay at Avarack after having thad o re-arrange our Easter holiday from 2020 due to the pandemic. The house is lovely and fabulously located with very easy walking access to the SW Coast path and the wonderful tin mine coast, as well short drives to Marazion, Penzance, St Just and Sennen Cove to the south and St Ives to the north. There are no shortages of excellent places of eat and drink as well as visit, so it really is a superb location. The house is lovely inside and well equipped. The configuration of the sitting room means that once seated, it is not possible to enjoy the wonderful sea views, which is a shame. The upstairs floorboards are also very creaky, which does cause a disturbance at night when moving around. Overall though a wonderful place to enjoy one of the most spectacular coastlines in the world.

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed a second stay at the lovely Avarack. It really is in a great location, isn't it? Thank you for your comments on the floorboards, we had confirmation in April 2022 that the owners had a flooring specialist in, who had carried out work to reduce the noise from the floorboards, but it seems to not be a permanent solution, so the owners will continue to investigate any options that may improve this in the future. Thank you again for your helpful feedback. Tanya, Customer Services

A really lovely cottage in a great position for exploring the far west of Cornwall. The whole place was spotless when we arrived which was very reassuring. We really didn't travel far in the car at all but did do a lot of walking! St Just is a really good shopping centre now and there are several farm shops locally so we didn't go far to shop either. A proper home from home.

Nice spacious property, well equipped for a family. Unfortunately we wouldn’t stay again as the floor boards upstairs are so noisy and woke us up if someone got up early in the morning or went to the toilet in the night. Sleep is so important on holiday so if this was fixed we would rent this property in the future.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are sorry to hear this. It is not something that has been highlighted to us before, so we will keep a close eye on further feedback and check on this on our next inspection of the property in case there is an obvious cause that can be easily resolved. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. Lucy, Customer Services

Avarack was very well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. Beautifully decorated, felt like home from home. Very comfortable beds, selection of books and games which was a lovely addition. Great location, and within easy reach of all beaches, as well as walks around Pendeen. Plenty of parking which is always a bonus with any property. Would highly recommend.

This beautiful new build holiday home was really comfortable and well equipped. There was ample parking for 3 cars. It is well situated to explore the whole area of West Cornwall.

Avarack is a spacious modern property in a great location. It is comfortable and very clean. So handy for walking the coast path or just exploring this wonderful part of Cornwall. We have stayed in this area many times and this property is one of the best would highly recommend it.

Avarack is in the perfect location to explore the whole of west Cornwall. The house itself is comfortable, spacious, light and airy and also spotlessly clean. There is plenty of storage space and everything has been thought of e.g. plenty of coat pegs and places to store numerous pairs of shoes. All the ornaments and paintings have been well chosen and really suit the house, making it feel very homely. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils that often aren't available in other properties. We loved this house and would certainly recommend.

This house is well equipped ,spotless clean modern ,light and airy , by far the best accommodation I have been in ,in this country so much so we have booked for 2 weeks next August we are a family of 5 with children aged 7,13,16 they all loved it ,body boarded every day at nearby Sennen Cove

A very well equipped and spacious house. Beds very comfortable. Well situated to visit many local attractions. Wonderful scenery and very near the coastal path for those who enjoy walking.

An excellent all round property in a great location very comfortable well equipped and one to return to.

This is a brilliant location and property for a family holiday. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. 20 mins to local beach and lovely little garden to sit in and relax after a day exploring. Best holiday in a long time. Just brilliant.

My wife and I have been hiring cottages throughout Britain for over 30 years and Avarack is up there with the very best. It was well stocked with your basic necessities such as bin bags, washing up liquid, kitchen towels and so on. There were more than enough cups, plates, bowls, glassware and cutlery available. Pendeen itself is a small village with very friendly locals who never walk by without saying hello. It is the perfect location for touring throughout Cornwall. And the icing on our cake was, the weather during our 2 weeks stay was fantastic.

A lovely comfortable cottage ideal to explore the local area from. Karen

This was our first stay in one of Aspect Holidays properties, and our experience was excellent. Avarack was so comfortable and stylish, it offered everything we could have wanted for a lovely week in West Cornwall and all of this in such an interesting location as Pendeen.

Only a very few cottages that we have stayed in have left us feeling completely satisfied at the end of a holiday. This is one of them. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and up-to-date - and a very good location.

We liked everything. Decor, furnishings, the appliances. The homely touches. Overall there is nothing we would change. View and location amazing. Will definitely return again. Perfect !!!!

A beautiful property, excellently finished and furnished and perfectly located for exploring the southernmost parts of west Cornwall. Ideally situated for exploring Cornwalls mining heritage, with stunning cliff top walks just on the doorstep. Access to Penzance and St Ives is easy by car, bus, or bicycle (if your up to it) and there are so many other great coves and beaches nearby to explore.

for us it was like home away from home, we felt very comfortable and really enjoyed our stay, would 100% recommend
