Holidays in West Cornwall

There is almost an embarrassment of riches for the visitor to choose from when looking at holiday cottages in West Cornwall. With its extraordinary variety of landscapes and coastline, as well as its proud history and cultural heritage, you won't be disappointed.

With many superb beaches to enjoy, including five with the coveted Blue Flag status, it is easy to see why so many people associate this part of the world with sun, sea, sand and, of course, surf. There is, however, so much more on offer when contemplating self catering holidays in West Cornwall.

West Cornwall is home to popular destinations such as MarazionPenzanceCarbis Bay and St Ives, which are all worth a visit. From the iconic St Michael's Mount to the breath taking Minack Theatre as featured in our blog, you wont be short of things to do while self catering in West Cornwall.

Things to do in West Cornwall

Days out

With such an abundance of stunning sights in West Cornwall, you'll be spoilt for choice when choosing where to visit while holidaying here. St Michael's Mount, The Minack Theatre, and St Ives harbour are just a few of the enthralling places on offer. The many golden sandy beaches that West Cornwall boasts are perfect for topping up the tan. For something a little more energetic, boat trips, fishing excursions and water sports are available. Museums and art galleries provide an equally enjoyable day out, with world famous exhibitions at the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth museum within easy reach.

With the bustling coastal towns of St Ives, Mousehole and Marazion within close proximity of one another, you can be sure to find somewhere to provide everything you need to the perfect family day out.

Cornwall's spectacular scenery provides the perfect backdrop for exploring. The coastal paths which hug the rugged cliffs offer breath taking sea views, while walking inland you can enjoy the many nature reserves, ancient stone circles and woodland, for which Cornwall is renowned.

Art & heritage

Famous for its quality of light, the area has long been a haven for artists and there are many galleries to be found wherever you go. There are also many gardens to enjoy; the mild climate will often let plants flourish here which you won’t find anywhere else in the country. For those wanting to dig a little deeper, there is also an amazing mining and maritime heritage which has done much to shape the county and its people as well as, it could be argued, the rest of the world.

Fantastic location, very friendly, beautiful property and great scones on arrival.

Lovely clean well kept buildings and surroundings with splendid views and peaceful locality. Well equipped accommodation with friendly and helpful owners. Great exercise area for dogs and gardens for visitors.

Accommodation was in in a great location, equidistance from the north and south coasts and close to the local train station at St Erth where we could catch the train to St Ives. Penzance has a good choice of supermarkets and there is a lot to see in the area including St Michael's Mount.

This was our second stay at the barn and again did not disappoint. The scones on arrival with cream and jam were a lovely gesture and very nice too ! We noticed a few changes that had been made. The new rotary airer outside and some new blinds inside on the patio doors which were great and really made a difference. All in all not a bad word to say about this property as it’s perfect. We have already booked for next year just counting down the days ??

I cannot fault the service from Aspects Holidays. Our stay at Cherry Blossom Farm was so peaceful and relaxing but at the same time all the local beaches and attractions were close by. Our German shepherd loved the fields ! A very comfortable and well equipped property I would highly recommend staying here. And will definitely be back !

Cherry blossom barn is immaculate it could not be any cleaner. It is so peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed watching the cows. The sunsets are awesome. I’m going to really miss the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful place.

The apartment was a real home from home. Nice and secluded, yet close to main routes to visit places of interest. Would definitely stay again, is the best compliment I can pay.

We have just returned from the most perfect week in Cherry Blossom Barn. It is the most peaceful, well equipped, clean cottage we’ve ever stayed in. Would highly recommend!

My family of 4 and our dog Hari stayed at Cherry Blossom Cottage, and had a great time. The cottage was very impressive from the exterior. And the interior didn’t disappoint either. The fields around the cottage were full of cows, which was nice to see and the field adjacent to the cottage was superb. We were confident enough to allow Hari our dog to run around and enjoy himself. The kitchen was of a high standard, with all mod cons and very clean like the rest of the cottage. The bathroom had a lovely shower with great water pressure. The living room was again very clean and had a TV with sofa, and one chair. The living room led out onto the patio area, with a built in barbecue and wooden table. A lovely place to sit, have a drink and enjoy the views. The Cottage was very impressive, and we would not hesitate to stay there again and let others know about this little gem.

We have just come back from a really lovely stay at Cherry Blossom Barn. The location of the barn was superb with St Ives and all other amenities on your doorstep. The barn was very nicely furnished and everything was clean and crisp. The beds were very comfortable and very welcoming after the long days out exploring the different areas. My family and I were impressed so much that we booked the barn again for next year. Thank you Aspect Holidays for letting us stay in a beautiful place to make our holiday memories.

We regularly stay in Mousehole at a family property and this was our first time staying elsewhere and we absolutely loved the spacious feel of the barn. The decor was fresh and light and really homely. The outdoor space was just wonderful. We really enjoyed evening drinks watching the sunset. Thank you.
