Our first time staying in Mevagissey, we usually stay in St Ives but wanted to try something different. Mevagissey did not disappoint! Perfect for us as a family of 4 to try something a bit quieter. Crabbing on the harbour wall, fish & chips and some lovely local beaches. The property was perfect, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Special shout out to Michelle in the office who was super helpful when we needed her.

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

A well equipped cottage. Beds were super comfortable. Location brilliant for harbour area. Would highly recommend this property

Great location not far from the harbour, but it is down a steep hill so would be an issue for anyone with mobility problems. Small outdoor area that gets the sun in the evening which is lovely. Very well laid out property with good size bedrooms & all the facilities / utensils you need in the kitchen. Only 1 bathroom so does take a while for 6 people to get ready and shower not very powerful. Overall good value for money.

Dock Of The Bay has been decorated lovely and has a home from home feel - with the added bonus of a wood burner. The beds and furnishings are very comfortable. I would recommend this property to family and friends.

Totally recommend this cottage we have just come back from a great week. Location is great.

Beautiful cottage close to the lovely harbour of Mevagissey. Unpleasant smell in the kitchen (possibly damp?) which needs checking out by owners. Otherwise we had a lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to return. Would certainly recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to send in your comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your time here. Thank you for letting us know about that smell, it isn't something that has ever been mentioned by guests before, and the team could not smell anything upon checking this, so hopefully it was a bit of a one off, but we will keep a close eye out on further feedback and will check again on the next inspection. Thanks again and we hope to see you again. Lucy, Customer Services
