Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Amazing apartment and excellent location! We had the most amazing week in such a beautiful apartment. The location was perfect and everything we could hope for. The owners were brilliant and such a great help with advising where to visit and what to see. Honestly one of the best family holidays we have been on. The garden was the perfect place to relax at the end of a day sight seeing. We cannot recommend this apartment enough for the location, owners and actual apartment. Wow!! Thank you Anthony and Dee for helping to make our holiday amazing. We will be back!

The property is excellently located within 200Metres of the harbour and shops/restaurants and benefits from off road parking. The owners are friendly and helpful. There are a number of walks in the vicinity and during the boat trip into the bay dolphins swam alongside.

We.had a lovely week at Chy An Dowr. It is ideally situated both for walking into the village and for visiting other places. We enjoyed wandering around Mevagissey and visits to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project, Trelissick and Charlestown. We went on a coastal cruise on a fishing boat and we were thrilled to see lots of dolphins very close to the boat.

The property is attractive and well equipped. The owners are welcoming and helpful. Thank you for looking after us and for the bottle of wine.

Highly recommended.

Lovely light and airy property in a perfect location; a genuine 5 minute stroll to Mevagissy harbour. Spotlessly clean and spacious. Comfortable beds, goose down duvets & beautiful bathroom. Delightful owners too.

A lovely property to stay & explore the areas in and around Mevagissey. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A roomy and bright cottage with everything you would need. A lovely welcoming bottle of wine & biscuits were much appreciated along with the board games and ice lollies that had been left for our son. ??
