St Pirans Day Celebrations

St Piran's Day, celebrated on March 5th, is the national day of Cornwall, named after one of Cornwall's patron saints. According to legend, St Piran, a 5th century Irish Abbot, was thrown into the sea in Ireland tied to a mill stone; somehow he washed up on the Cornish coast still alive. He made Cornwall his new home and became the patron saint of tin-miners after rediscovering tin smelting.

Today, Cornwall still celebrates St Piran's Day, with various celebrations held across Cornwall.

Location was great and the house was plenty roomy for 10 people, but wouldn't work for 10 adults.

The 2 in 1 bedroom, with bunks and a double that were in different rooms to be fair we're tiny, and the double bed was very small too. Not too much of a problem but we had issues storint bags and cases etc.

Given the changeable nature of the UK weather, some sort of awning or umbrella would have made sitting in the yard terrace possible on more occassions, and the inclusion of some outdoor heating would also have been on our wishlist.

Finally, with 10 people, a downstairs loo would have been a great addition (there are 4 upstairs admittedly).

Mostly first world problems, but irks none the less.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thanks for your comments and suggestions; these are all passed on to the property owners so that they can consider any suggestions for future improvements. This property has all the beds and facilities to sleep 10, but with the layout of the 2 adjoining bedrooms that you mention, as you rightly say, it won't suit all parties of 10, so is certainly something to consider before booking. That said, for parties with children, the layout can work brilliantly and the owners ensure that you are provided with everything needed for a comfortable stay, so we hope that you enjoyed your time here. Beach View House is in a wonderful location, allowing easy walking to all the key parts of Newquay- we could ignore the car all week! The house is lovely, inside and out, and we would love to stay here again. Sally Rusted, Cambridge.

Had an amazing weeks holiday with our children and grand children. What a beautiful property plenty of room, very well equipped and an excellent location. We travelled in a mini bus and there was ample parking for this and a very private area at the rear of the property with locks on gates so was safe for the children.

A great house to stay with a larger group. Excellent kitchen and dining facilities and bbq area. So close to the golf course/beaches/shopping that everyone can walk to their own activities. Perfect for teenagers with a pizza place and surf shops and beaches so close. The house is well kitted out and Aspects were very helpful whenever we had a question. We enjoyed our stay and may very well stay again.

This is our favourite property in the 6 years we have been holidaying in Newquay. Perfect location for Fistral beach and the town.

The house has everything you need. Rooms are nicely decorated. Comfy beds fully equipped kitchen. Lots of seating.

We will be back for a third year. We love it.

Fantastic house, ten of us stayed and the house never felt too small, all rooms were very spacious and well equipped, can not fault the location and has its own parking which is amazing for where it is situated, would definitely stay here again, thank you for a lovely stay.

This cottage is perfect for a family and accompanying grandparents who enjoy a beach holiday. The location is perfect and the cottage has all the amenities you require.

Perfect from start to finish
