The Old Workshop
Mount Zion, St Ives

This unique building started life as a granite store where the local fishermen hung their nets to dry. Then it became 'the old workshop' where they mended and repaired their fishing nets and lobster pots. Just seconds from the harbour, The Old Workshop has been converted to an unusual and interesting holiday home, set between the old fishing quarter of St Ives, known as Downalong, and the harbour.

The Old Workshop is ideally situated for a walk into town along the harbour front where there are many choices of restaurants catering for all tastes. It is also within walking distance of all of St Ives' golden sandy beaches.

Great location, lovely little cottage.

The Old Workshop was bigger than we expected. Only a few steps from the harbour. Great customer service from the Aspects staff.

Cosy and romantic bolt hole in a fabulous location.

Had a fantastic two weeks for September Festival, we will be returning, keep doing what you do best helping people have a great time .Thank you Aspects’s,Harry & Denise Scorer

The old workshop is in a great location and we have stayed here before around 4 years ago. It is a little worn now and could do with a makeover better internet and a new bed.

Thank you for your comments. We will check this on the next inspection and feed back to the property owners, so thank you for sending in your thoughts. This property has MiFi as opposed to WiFi, which generally works very well, but is not designed for streaming and downloading. We are sorry if this caused any problems. Thanks again and we hope that we will see you back here in St Ives again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Great central location in dog friendly self contained accommodation. Slightly tired in areas but offset by overall pleasing setting which results in a relaxed and comfortable stay.

What a pleasant surprise to find such a delightful and peaceful oasis of calm only yards from the harbour and so close to everything from the Tate to our favourite Porthgwidden beach.

Sweet and cosy cottage. Excellent location.

Great holiday, location of the old workshop was perfect & the quirky shape & rooms good, just as described We have already booked again with you for next year The weather this year couldn’t have been better, enjoyed our stay as much as when we go to the Greek Islands!

Great location and of course very dog friendly.

A comfortable and centrally located property. Light and contemporary and a great little welcome pack to get us started!! Love that it’s dog friendly too.

Super location, but parking is an issue in high season

Get in touch with Aspects prior to arrival and make sure they get the bins emptied, otherwise you will find yourself walking along the harbour like I did to dispose of the rubbish towards the end of your stay,

Get in touch with Aspects prior to arrival to make sure that the fire alarm batteries are changed, otherwise you will have the dreaded low battery beeping with no instruction on whether they are happy for you to change the battery yourself or to call somebody out.

Get in touch with Aspects prior to arrival to make sure they actually clean the property for you.

We are sorry to read that there were some are of the property that did not meet all expectations. The bin inside the property should have been emptied prior to your arrival, so we are sorry if this hadn't happened; and of course, you should always expect a property to be clean for your arrival. Unfortunately batteries can get low on alarms during a guests stay; a member of the team had offered to send someone over to replace the batteries for you as soon as we were aware, so I hope that this resolved that situation for you; and I hope that our contact with you since we received your feedback, has helped to reassure you of our usual high standards. Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Tanya, Customer Services

Excellent location well priced and provides for all your holiday needs, which makes for an excellent stay

Excellent location, perfect get-a-way for a couple.

A wonderful break in St Ives, the Workshop is in a fantastic location for everything. Our second St Ives holiday with Aspects and we will definitely be back again.

I had a great time at The Old Workshop, everything was a few minutes away, beaches on the doorstep, amazing views and the service was great. The cottage was perfect for what I needed and I just felt at home.

I loved how open and airy the place was. You are less than 30 seconds from the harbour and yet it is so quiet. The lounge for me is the star of the building. It has enabled me to have a really quiet two weeks away so I have been able to unwind completely.

Really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again.

We had a great week at the cottage. The Aspect holiday staff were great to deal. Thanks for a great holiday. Intend to re-book for next year. John & Rosemary Hogg
