The tradition of Tom Bawcock comes from the feast or famine lifestyle of Cornwall. The story goes that it was just before Christmas; there had been no fish for weeks, the boats couldn’t get out into the raging storm, the village was starving. One man, Tom Bawcock, dared to take his boat out of the harbour’s safety. He returned with enough fish to make fish pie for the whole village.
Today, a festival takes place each year to celebrate Tom Bawcock's bravery. During the festival, Star Gazey pies are eaten in memory of this famous event.

We're pleased to see that you enjoyed Coastal Breeze. We appreciate how important Wi-Fi is for planning days out and keeping in touch with family and friends when away and we are sorry that there were connection problems. We have had a look into this since and monitored feedback and are pleased to report that there have been no further issues with the Wi-Fi, so hopefully it was a bit of a one-off with the service provider. We will continue to monitor this though. Thank you for also highlighting daytime noise from the trainline. Quite honestly, out of all the properties that we market along there, we very rarely hear any negative comments about noise from the train line, as it is not a particularly busy line and the trains travel through there very slowly, though we appreciate that some will be more sensitive to noise than others and if this is something that may concern you, please do not hesitate to get in touch so that we can discuss alternative options.
