Set over three floors the ground floor has a well-proportioned and cosy sitting-room, leading down to the open plan kitchen and diner on the lower floor. From the sitting room climb the stairs and two bedrooms await, along with the family bathroom, which is a little on the snug side, but perfectly formed. The double bedroom is bright and airy with sea glimpses and bedroom two features full size bunk beds, for either adults or children, with views over rooftops towards the harbour. Outside, the sunny sheltered courtyard is the place for a quiet holiday read, or perhaps al fresco dining, alongside pegs to hang wetsuits after washing them down.

Beach lovers will be in their element with five beaches to choose from in St Ives, the closest being Porthmeor Beach, where you can take to the waves, or just lie back and relax beneath the sun. Porthmeor is also home to the iconic Tate Gallery, where culture enthusiasts can catch the latest exhibitions before heading over to Porthmeor Beach Café where tasty food and stunning views await. For anyone who wishes to bring their four-legged companion along, they are very welcome at Chy Sunny.

Overall we loved our stay at Chy Sunny. It is a very quaint, cosy cottage tucked away just off of Fore Street, a prime location for the shops, restaurants etc and you can be on the beach within about 3 minutes too. Please note that it is a tricky property to get to for arriving and departing (if you are traveling by car) when we arrived, Fore Street was very busy and we were unable to stop and drop our stuff off meaning we had to carry our bags etc quite a long way from the car park. Once we had everything in the location was perfect. The little outside area and storage were really helpful. Please also be aware that this isn't a property for any one over 6ft due to its being a small, traditional cottage. I could only just fit under the shower head and some of the ceilings are quite low. Another thing to note was that there weren't any child friendly cups, plates, bowls etc. We didn't pack any as assumed it would be child friendly due to the bunk beds etc.

We did really love our stay in St Ives just a few pointers for anyone else looking to stay here with a family.

Thank you for your helpful comments and it is great to hear how much you loved Chy Sunny. Being in such an amazing central location can make dropping off luggage more challenging at times, but a worthwhile compromise for being a few steps from cobbled Fore Street, which is lined with nice restaurants, cafes and independent retailers, and moments from the harbour and other beaches. Many of the traditional fisherman's cottages in the heart of St Ives have kept their character and charm, so they can be a little smaller, with quirkier layouts and lower ceiling heights than more modern buildings. We always try to be as open and honest as possible in our website descriptions and photos, so we do hope this was what you had expected. Thank you again for your helpful feedback. Lovely little quirky cottage. Lovely location. Little bit tight upstairs & steep stairs (not for the faint hearted) but immaculate & has everything you need. St ives at its best really.

We are so glad that you enjoyed it. We try to make things like this as clear as possible in the website description and photos so that guests are aware before booking, so we do hope that the size upstairs and steep stairs were all as expected. Thanks for your feedback and we hope to see you back in St Ives again. Tanya, Customer Services
