Aspects Holidays donates to leading children’s bladder and bowel charity

We are delighted to have donated £2000 to ERIC – The Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity. ERIC is the leading charity supporting children and young people with bowel or bladder problems across the UK, helping them to have a happy and healthy life regardless of the issues they face. ERIC is internationally recognised for its amazing work, and thanks to modern technology, offers specialist advice to healthcare providers across the globe.

As a society, we often feel embarrassed when it comes to discussing bladder and bowel habits. This attitude can, unfortunately, lead to further issues if people do not feel comfortable seeking help for themselves or their children. The team at ERIC, who are also known as the ‘wee and poo experts’, have made it their mission to get everyone talking openly about good bladder and bowel health. It’s important to educate families so that children grow up in a society where they feel comfortable discussing this topic.

ERIC supports families in a variety of ways, primarily through its website which contains a wealth of clinically approved information and child-friendly resources. They also run a free helpline, operated by highly trained advisors who can provide information and support. Furthermore, to raise awareness, seminars and webinars are offered to parents and carers who wish to have a better understanding of the subject, while specialist courses are delivered to medical professionals looking to enhance their expertise in this area.

Chair of the Charity Council for Aspects Holidays, Jenna Ali commented “After being directed to the ERIC website by the NHS following my daughter's diagnosis, my experience of using the service and resources was fantastic. It’s hard to believe that this small charity supports so many families across the UK, despite being entirely reliant on funding, donations and sponsorships. I’m delighted that the donation from Aspects Holidays will support more people like me, whose children have problems with their bladder or bowels.”

CEO of ERIC, Juliette Raynor passed on her thanks to Aspects Holidays “We are delighted to receive a gift of £2,000 which will certainly go a long way. It will directly support 80 families who contact our helpline in need of information, advice, and emotional support. Thank you so much again for your support and for thinking of us, we really do appreciate it.”
