Aspects Holidays donates a further £10,000 to Devon and Cornwall Food Action

Aspects Holidays team meet Devon and Cornwall Food Action

We are delighted to share that we have donated £10,000 to Devon and Cornwall Food Action (DCFA) for the second year in a row.

Our donation of £10,000 in 2023 helped support over 750 adults and families across the county, and we were thrilled to be able to support the volunteer-led charity again with a donation for 2024.

Actively working to eradicate food poverty, DCFA collaborates with food producers and supermarkets to redistribute surplus food to those in need. Through various means-tested schemes, they work with local groups and organisations to ensure the food collected reaches those living in food poverty, ensuring all excess produce they collect is redistributed across the whole of Devon and Cornwall, including St Ives, Camborne, Penzance, and Falmouth.

The charity offers affordable food solutions to families and individuals across the two counties, and the work undertaken also helps to combat food wastage, preventing valuable food from going to landfill!

Our donation will be used to support the Cornwall Provision Scheme, where hubs in locations such as Camborne, Redruth, and Falmouth provide the community with access to the food charity on a regular basis.

Chairman of DCFA, Alan Dunne says of the donations “Aspects Holidays help to fund Devon and Cornwall Food Action, supporting our local Cornish communities, making the difference that is needed.”

Aspects Holidays Director Mandy Spencer commented “It’s always lovely to be able to support any Charity or worthy cause, it’s even better when we get to repeat it and do something that makes a difference more than once. It is sobering to hear the stories that Devon and Cornwall Food Action tell us, and how vital the work they do is to our local communities. Their 100+ workforce is made up of volunteers and I know I speak on behalf of all our team when I say how pleased we are to be able to help with our donation. Our staff all receive 3 days a year to use for volunteer days, so we are looking to offer some more hands-on support work with this amazing charity too.”
