Trepedn Cottage
Treen

£519 - £1442 per week
Book

This delightful detached granite cottage in the heart of the village of Treen has been sympathetically extended and modernised. It provides spacious accommodation for six and with all three bedrooms being en suite, the property would appeal to a family or three couples travelling together. In addition there is an attractive, secluded and enclosed garden with sitting and dining areas.

Treen is a delightful hamlet, and Trepedn stands amidst National Trust Land above the coast between Lamorna and Porthcurno, making this area a good base for touring the Penwith peninsular, maybe visiting the Minack theatre whilst still in easy reach of Penzance. There is a village shop/cafe nearby (open during the summer months only) together with friendly local pub serving traditional ales and good food. Post Office/Store at St.Buryan, which is three miles away. Pedn-Vounder beach (far end of Porthcurno beach and tidal) is accessible via a steep cliff path approx. one mile from the cottage or a two and a half mile drive to the Porthcurno valley.

Holidays in Treen

Situated in a National Landscape (formerly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), Treen offers a tranquil place to relax and enjoy the Cornish countryside. Within a few minutes' drive of several stunning beaches, and just a short walk from a beautiful stretch of the South West Coast Path, you'll be treated to breathtaking sea views just moments away.

If you’re seeking a restorative holiday in Cornwall, then the traditional farming hamlet of Treen in the far west of the county is the idyllic spot. Surrounded by spectacular scenery, the sounds of nature, and fresh coastal air, could there be a more tranquil place to unwind? This part of Cornwall is a true paradise for walkers, with endless footpaths to choose from!

Top tip

Head to The Logan Rock Inn for a hearty home-cooked meal.

Things to do

Located in the far west of Cornwall, there’s plenty to see and do nearby.

The Minack Theatre

This sensational outdoor theatre has to be seen to be believed! Located just down the road from Treen, it’s certainly worth a visit. Built into the cliffs almost a century ago, and mostly by hand, this remarkable theatre is an incredibly special place to watch a live performance, or simply to visit for a tour.

Land’s End

Staying in Treen means you’ll be close to the iconic Land’s End landmark. But it’s more than just a landmark; visitors can enjoy a day experiencing one of the several onsite attractions, taking in the stunning views and, of course, having a photo taken next to the famous Land’s End signpost.

Tanglewood Wild Gardens

Also located in west Cornwall is the magical world of Tanglewood Wild Gardens. Explore nine acres of wild gardens and woodland, home to an abundance of wildlife, quirky sculptures and interactive games. Pack a picnic and enjoy it with the family, amidst the sounds and sights of nature.

Porthcurno Telegraph Museum

The once unassuming village of Porthcurno became vital in the world of communications when, 150 years ago, the first international telegraph cable was brought ashore at Porthcurno, connecting Britain to India and later, the British Empire. Visit the museum to find our how the quiet valley of Porthcurno became host to the past, present and future of worldwide communications.

St Michael's Mount

When visiting west Cornwall, be sure to allocate time for a trip to the iconic St Michael’s Mount. This incredible tidal island, complete with castle is a truly magical place to visit. Be sure to check out the tide times before your visit to see if the causeway will be clear to walk across, or whether you’ll need to hop on one of the regular ferry boats.

Walks in and around Treen

This area of Cornwall is perfect for walking; with wooded valleys, quaint villages, rolling fields, Cornish coves and coastal paths all waiting to be explored.

Nearby walks

Take a short walk through the wooded valley and you will arrive at Penberth Cove, a quintessentially Cornish cove, still used as a fishing cove to this day. Also just a short walk away is The Logan Rock, a huge granite boulder perched on the cliff-edge, famous for once being able to rock back and forth with just the slightest of touches.

The South West Coast Path

One of the best things about west Cornwall has to be its wild and rugged coastline, and walking the South West Coast Path is one of the best ways to explore it. Join the coast path at Porthcurno and head in one direction to Lamorna, or the other towards Cape Cornwall.

Beaches

West Cornwall is home to lots of hidden coves, which once upon a time would have been used for smuggling. However, some of the bigger beaches are far more easily accessible and family-friendly.

Porthcurno Beach

This stunning beach boasts soft golden sand and turquoise waters, and with lifeguard cover from mid-May through to the end of September, it’s a popular choice for families. Sheltered by cliffs on either side, and with stunning views, it’s truly a little piece of paradise.

Sennen Cove Beach

A large expanse of golden sand, this is the perfect place to visit for a day at the beach. Whether you plan to spend your time surfing, swimming, rock-pooling or simply relaxing on the sand, there’s plenty of space for everyone.

Lovely stay at Trepedn in a very homely, bright property in a wonderful location for coastal walks.

Great cottage in the very attractive hamlet of Treen, superbly placed for exploration of West Cornwall

We stayed here for the 1st time, 30th June 2023 for a week. We have booked again for 2024. Trepedn is the best property we have booked in the area. It was a real privilege to stay here and we are grateful to the owners for sharing it. It does not feel like a holiday letting. Yes, there are the instructions and helpful information, but everything else is like a home. Not too " posh ", it is a combination of modern and period and very comfortable and cosy. The location is amazing for walks and the Logan Rock Pub. The farm opposite was great, we were entertained by the animals and sampled the milk. We walked across the fields behind, to Porthcurno, descending behind the Telegraph Museum and had a swim and walked back. Other days was lovely to walk the South West Coast Path to Penberth and back via the woods. Another day to Porthcurno via SW path, with amazing views of Pedn Vounder and The Minack is amazing. Caution though, the access to Pedn Vounder is very difficult unless you are very able and confident. Enjoyed using the AGA, had them before, brilliant. Comfy beds and cosy kitchen. The sitting area is beautiful. But, in the end the garden is absoluteley gorgeous. So peaceful and relaxing. Treen is a wonderful holiday destination. Thanks to the owners and all the Aspects staff.

A really rel

Lovely spacious cottage located in a picturesque village. The garden is delightful and has plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy in the warmer weather. The stunning coastal scenery of Treen and Porthcurno is a short walk away. Can’t wait to return.

Lovely rural position with well equipped and homely house - lovely garden. Return visits never disappoint.

An excellent place

Great cottage. Very private garden. Description very accurate. Great Cornwall location.

We had the loveliest two weeks in Trepedn Cottage . It’s a beautiful location and the cottage is just perfect for family or 2/3 couples . The garden is well kept with lovely seating areas and the cottage has a great layout which means each room has its own privacy . Being able to pop over and get fresh milk and eggs is a bonus . We were blessed with the weather and the local beaches are stunning . Look forward to another stay

This is a beautifully presented cottage in a lovely rural village just off the south coast path! Homely and very well equipped with a glorious private garden! We loved the fresh milk and farm smells and the friendly pub...... a perfect location for exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall!

Trepedn is a wonderful place to stay, and it was our third visit. The property is beautifully presented and has so much space both inside and out, it's absolutely perfect. We want to come and stay in winter now, so we can get the logburners going!

We had a lovely stay here. There is a gorgeous garden with furniture and open views. We bought organic milk from the farm opposite. The pub next door was great, real ales and hearty food-didn’t experience any noise which was good. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We enjoyed cooking meals on the Aga, having a fire or sitting out when the sun shone! It’s a lovely walk down to Pedn Vounder, Portcurno and Penberth. Very well situated for the coastal path.

We loved this cottage. It was spacious and comfortable. The beds and bedding were amazing. The kitchen was well equipped and enjoyed cooking on the Aga.

The cottage is well.placed for access to Porthcurno and sennon. We loved getting milk from the farm across the road as well!

The pub can get abit noisy but generally not after 11!

Cottage is located close to coastal path, so ideal for walkers. Full wall being glass down one side of main living room, Aga in the kitchen on 24/7 and lack of shade in the garden made it difficult to keep cool during a heatwave. Be aware that property sits directly opposite the entrance to a far, so farmyard smells and flies invade the property.

Trepedn is an incredibly comfortable and well appointed house. It’s ideal for a large family or 3 couples as each bedroom has its own bathroom. There are two large but warm and cosy living rooms and a large kitchen with a wonderful aga. There is a beautiful, secluded garden which is full of flowers and has a breathtaking view over the hills towards the sea. The cottage is right next door to a brilliant pub, you can get milk and eggs from the farm across the road and you are a few steps away from the most wonderful walks, coastline and beaches. Hard to beat!

A beautifully furnished and equipped cottage, with bedrooms well spread out across different levels and two separate sitting / reading rooms make it a perfect cottage for a mixed age group family holiday. Love the location in a friendly village, pretty garden, very private but with sea views within a 10 minute walk, swimming at Pedn Vounder and Porthcurno both good coast path walks away and a great pub next door.

What a lovely stay we had a Trepedn Cottage. It really felt like home and we cannot wait to return. Great location for exploring and visiting the wonderful beaches!

Trepedn cottage was lovely at the end of Apl with the Aga keeping the kitchen warm...maybe a bit hot for later in the season. Cooking on an Aga for the first time was "interesting" but fun to work out the best approach.

I would book this cottage again, very convenient for the Logan Rock Inn who made us very welcome.

Great cottage, perfect location, well equipped with everything you need, comfy, cosy couldn’t ask for anything more. Felt at home from the moment we walked through the door! Fabulous holiday from start to finish!

Lovely position and very well equipped with homely atmosphere

Really lovely holiday home with sun-drenched, spacious sitting room and superb outdoor dining area in a great location for walking (from the door to coastline/coastal path) plus access to a fab beach within a reasonable distance with a short scramble on to the sand.

This a wonderful cottage, suitable for all ages from very young to very old and in an absolutely beautiful location, it is supremely well equipped and the garden is beautiful. We were incredibly lucky with he weather but the cottage is warm comfortable and spacious with an excellent collection of games and puzzles for rainy days.

Beautiful spacious and homely cottage with a lovely large enclosed garden. Easy access to the coastal path walk at Logan Rock where there are spectacular views.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It is well-equipped, clean and beautifully designed. The garden is lovely, and totally enclosed for dogs and children. We will definitely be booking again!

Wonderful cottage in a good location with excellent footpaths on the doorstep - we especially enjoyed the walk to Porthcurno. The cottage was very clean on arrival and felt like home with lots of great art on the walls and loads of books to dip into. Extremely comfortable beds with quality bedlinen. Plenty of hot water supplied by the Aga and good showers which were much needed after days spent on the beach. Having stayed in a number of cottages in the area in the past this was definitely our favourite so I am sure we'll return at some point in the not too distant future.

Trepedn cottage was a very comfortable, very well equipped and perfect for our Cornish walking holiday. I loved the garden and the aga. The location is just perfect for walking to several locations made famous by the recent Poldark series. Stunning views and scenery right on your doorstep. The farm opposite is great for milk and eggs, and the pub next door is very friendly too. All in all perfect. Thank you.

Doubt you will want to publish!

We always aim to be open and honest, so welcome constructive comments from guests that can help us and the owners to understand what improvements are considered most important. We publish all comments, with very few exceptions. You had expressed dissapointment at the standard of cleanliness & general clutter of the property. We are very sorry if the cleanliness had not been to the usual very high standards, and very sorry that we did not have the opportunity to rectify these concerns for you at the time. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Tanya, Customer Services

This is a wonderfully located house for a family holiday, close to the coastal path, beaches and all amenities. Very well equipped with everything you need for a family holiday. Very comfortably furnished and lots of space for everyone to spread out. We have booked again for next year.

Lovely Cornish cottage with everthing one needs on holiday.

I had a wonderful week at Trepedn. I was very impressed with the homely comfortable feel and with the little extras such as the biscuits and fresh flowers on arrival. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage; comfy bed, great location for the beach, and right next to the pub! The wood burner and aga kept me warm and cosy, and the glass doors and roof allowed a lot of natural light which created a spacious, peaceful and relaxing environment.

One of the nicest holiday homes we have stayed in. A real home from home. Beautifully furnished and equipped.

We have stayed at the cottage for many years. The first time we stayed we were struck by the kindness and hospitality of the owners in making so much of their home available to us and letting us share the house in the same way that they clearly enjoy it. That has continued to be our experience every time we have stayed and we are grateful for the generosity and trust that makes a huge contribution to the pleasure we derive from our stay.
