Holidays in Treen

Situated in a National Landscape (formerly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), Treen offers a tranquil place to relax and enjoy the Cornish countryside. Within a few minutes' drive of several stunning beaches, and just a short walk from a beautiful stretch of the South West Coast Path, you'll be treated to breathtaking sea views just moments away.

If you’re seeking a restorative holiday in Cornwall, then the traditional farming hamlet of Treen in the far west of the county is the idyllic spot. Surrounded by spectacular scenery, the sounds of nature, and fresh coastal air, could there be a more tranquil place to unwind? This part of Cornwall is a true paradise for walkers, with endless footpaths to choose from!

Top tip

Head to The Logan Rock Inn for a hearty home-cooked meal.

Things to do

Located in the far west of Cornwall, there’s plenty to see and do nearby.

The Minack Theatre

This sensational outdoor theatre has to be seen to be believed! Located just down the road from Treen, it’s certainly worth a visit. Built into the cliffs almost a century ago, and mostly by hand, this remarkable theatre is an incredibly special place to watch a live performance, or simply to visit for a tour.

Land’s End

Staying in Treen means you’ll be close to the iconic Land’s End landmark. But it’s more than just a landmark; visitors can enjoy a day experiencing one of the several onsite attractions, taking in the stunning views and, of course, having a photo taken next to the famous Land’s End signpost.

Tanglewood Wild Gardens

Also located in west Cornwall is the magical world of Tanglewood Wild Gardens. Explore nine acres of wild gardens and woodland, home to an abundance of wildlife, quirky sculptures and interactive games. Pack a picnic and enjoy it with the family, amidst the sounds and sights of nature.

Porthcurno Telegraph Museum

The once unassuming village of Porthcurno became vital in the world of communications when, 150 years ago, the first international telegraph cable was brought ashore at Porthcurno, connecting Britain to India and later, the British Empire. Visit the museum to find our how the quiet valley of Porthcurno became host to the past, present and future of worldwide communications.

St Michael's Mount

When visiting west Cornwall, be sure to allocate time for a trip to the iconic St Michael’s Mount. This incredible tidal island, complete with castle is a truly magical place to visit. Be sure to check out the tide times before your visit to see if the causeway will be clear to walk across, or whether you’ll need to hop on one of the regular ferry boats.

Walks in and around Treen

This area of Cornwall is perfect for walking; with wooded valleys, quaint villages, rolling fields, Cornish coves and coastal paths all waiting to be explored.

Nearby walks

Take a short walk through the wooded valley and you will arrive at Penberth Cove, a quintessentially Cornish cove, still used as a fishing cove to this day. Also just a short walk away is The Logan Rock, a huge granite boulder perched on the cliff-edge, famous for once being able to rock back and forth with just the slightest of touches.

The South West Coast Path

One of the best things about west Cornwall has to be its wild and rugged coastline, and walking the South West Coast Path is one of the best ways to explore it. Join the coast path at Porthcurno and head in one direction to Lamorna, or the other towards Cape Cornwall.

Beaches

West Cornwall is home to lots of hidden coves, which once upon a time would have been used for smuggling. However, some of the bigger beaches are far more easily accessible and family-friendly.

Porthcurno Beach

This stunning beach boasts soft golden sand and turquoise waters, and with lifeguard cover from mid-May through to the end of September, it’s a popular choice for families. Sheltered by cliffs on either side, and with stunning views, it’s truly a little piece of paradise.

Sennen Cove Beach

A large expanse of golden sand, this is the perfect place to visit for a day at the beach. Whether you plan to spend your time surfing, swimming, rock-pooling or simply relaxing on the sand, there’s plenty of space for everyone.

Pretty village, perfect location, bijou cottage but perfect for our needs with our dog. Comfortable and cosy.

Beautifully clean, comfortable & nicely decorated. Everything was of good quality. Had a great time and will recommend to friends and family. Perfect.

Peaceful, good location, parking and little garden a plus. effectively detached, rare for a 1 bed.

Perfect cottage for two. Clean tidy warm and quiet

I have stayed at Treen many times before with the family but Little Cottage was perfect for a lone traveller and my daughter and partner stayed last year and loved it. Convenient for the Logan Rock Inn and accessible coastal walks and bus service. Cosy out of season. Great food at the pub and also at 2 Fore Street in Mousehole, The Gurnards Head and the Tolcarne Inn (Newlyn) if you love great seafood. Worth taking the train to Falmouth for a day out. Beerwolf Books (pub/bookshop) in Falmouth deserves a look and the Chain Locker Inn.

Ideal cottage for two for short break.

We have stayed at Little Cottage many times, it is just right for the two of use, has everything we need and we love Treen

I’ve just returned from a lovely holiday in The Little Cottage in Treen. The cottage was very comfortable and in a great location. There’s a bus stop at the end of the road and a very nice pub. Everything you needed for a very relaxing holiday in Treen.

Myself my partner and our 4 legged fur baby recently spent a week at the little cottage. The cottage is in a fab location to nearby walks, beaches and the local pub! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the cottage was so small and quirky it had everything we needed and was very clean and tidy. We had only been there an hour and was greeted by the local cows in the front garden which was a nice suprise! We would like to thank the owners for allowing us to stay here and for the lovely little gesture on arrival of scones, jam, clotted cream, tea and coffee. we would defo use them again x

Small but perfectly formed! Excellent base for fantastic walks, beaches, cafes & pub ... not forgetting the farm across for 'proper' dairy products :)

Great place / location for a couple and a small dog. Parking space, wifi, nice enclosed rear garden ...overall excellent. Near the local pub serving great food. Easy access to the coastal paths etc.

A lovely little cottage. Excellent place to stay. Very enjoyable.

Our stay in Little Cottage was perfect! A lovely welcome of scones, jam and cream awaited us which was a lovely touch. Everything has been thought of to make the stay wonderful. Getting up in a morning and opening the curtains to the sounds of the farm across the lane was lovely and being able to pop across and buy fresh organic milk and eggs was great. The garden is so lovely to sit in and a lovely place to eat and sit and read. The area is perfect for walking and excellent beaches. We can’t wait to come back to this special place.

This is the perfect holiday cottage for two people - so cosy, clean and well equipped. Brilliant location for walking what I think is the best stretch of coastal path and a fabulous pub close by for a pint and great food. We shall return!

Everything was provided for you; even dishwasher tablets, bubble bath and hand wash. It was a fantastic little, cosy cottage in a stupendous location. It took us a while to work out the cooker but we got there in the end and everything worked very well. The heating was superb and the little garden was really lovely to have. A beautiful place for a holiday! I would advise taking a few extra blankets if you are heading here in Autumn or Winter though. Thank you.

The Little Cottage proves that wonderful things come in small packages! It really is very little but is a very comfortable base for exploring this wonderful part of Cornwall. We enjoyed watching the cows heading home in the evening from the window seat and sitting in the little garden when the sun came out. It really has everything you need packed into a small space without ever feeling cramped. Treen is a fantastic little village too with a café (Opening times slightly erratic), an excellent pub and the coast path and Porthcurno beach a short walk from the front door. We would certainly stay here again next time we're in this part of Cornwall!

Lovely cottage in every way. Highly recommend ed! Fantastic location and walks on doorstep!

Lovely outside area reached via bedroom - made al fresco breakfast compulsory. Located next to our family was just about perfect. How on earth did you manage to fit so much into the space?
