Holidays at The Wharf

Many of our cottages at The Wharf overlook the working harbour of St Ives. Here you'll find fishing boats, a gorgeous sandy beach and in the summer season you can take advantage of the boat trips on offer. Home to The RNLI, The St Ives Lifeboat Station is close by and is a popular attraction with tourists.

The Wharf, otherwise known as St Ives harbour, is a hive of activity throughout the year. With a continual hustle and bustle on the water and along the harbour front, there is always plenty to do and see while self catering at the Wharf, even at the quieter times of the year.  It’s an ever changing scene so perfect for those artists among you. Don’t forget about the very sheltered, sandy Harbour Beach, a perfect sun-trap in the heart of town and a great place to find seaglass and sea pottery! As night falls at the end of another perfect day, St Ives comes alive with a selection of bars, restaurants and cafés to suit every pocket and every taste in a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Top tip

Be careful of the seagulls when eating at The Wharf.

Things to do on The Wharf

Boat Trips

Why not enjoy the scenery by boat and explore the coastline with an excursion with St Ives Boat Trips. Fishing trips are available for those looking for a bit of adventure, or for a more relaxing experience, a visit to seal island lets you see seals basking on the rocks at certain times of year.

Eating and Drinking

The Wharf is home to a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, serving up fresh fish and chips to gourmet burgers, with something to suit everyone. Enjoy an ice cream or Cornish pasty and watch the world go by on the harbour front, but remember to keep your wits about you; seagulls in St Ives are renowned for swooping in and stealing food right from your hands!

Smeaton's Pier

From here you'll get a stunning view of the harbour, and an up close view of the crystal clear waters. At the entrance to the pier you'll find St Leonard's Chapel; originally dedicated for local fisherman, it is now a museum and memorial for the fisherman of St Ives.

Lifeboat station

Home to the new £1.5 million lifeboat, the RNLI lifeboat station is a popular attraction for visitors to St Ives. The gift shop next door sells souvenirs where all profits go towards helping to save lives at sea.

A lovely stay. Super clean and one of the most well equipped flats we’ve stayed in.

I have brought my mum here for the last 10 yrs sometimes twice a year. It’s the outside space in such a prime position that you will find hard to beat.

Another great stay at Quilters Cabin. The weather was amazing. Great to be able to take my little dog on all the beaches and then return home to sit and watch the world go by from the wonderful balcony.

Quilters Cabin was perfect for my friend and I and my little dog. The accommodation is well equipped and beautifully decorated. We found it very comfortable and relaxing. We loved it so much we booked for next year before we checked out.

An exceptional high quality apartment in central St Ives. The apartment is large with plenty of space including a fantastic outdoor covered area with fantastic views of the harbour. With some of the bedrooms facing on to Fore Street you do get some noise especially in the mornings when deliveries and street cleaning is happening but nothing you don’t get used to. Would highly recommend

What an amazing property in the heart of St Ives with beautiful views. The terrace was just wonderful and we ate out there everyday. In the centre of everything, but peaceful and not noisy, well equipped and nicely laid out and comfortable. We were blessed with fabulous weather which made for a lovely holiday with swimming everyday. Best property we have stayed at in St Ives, would highly recommend.

This was our second visit to Quilters Cabin and once again we have had a wonderful time. The apartment was spotless on arrival and is equipped with everything that you could possibly need . We commented last year on the lack of a hairdryer and this year one is provided. The views are stunning and the outside area really quite large . I can only say thank you we enjoyed it so much we have booked for next year.

Quilters Cabin is in an excellent central location for everything that St Ives has to offer. The flat was extremely comfortable and had everything we could possibly need during our stay. The highlight was the huge balcony / deck area. It was so lovely to be able to take a break from the hustle and bustle and relax with an amazing view of the sea front which also sheltered us from the occasional chilly breeze. We could return with an ice cream or pasty and sit in the covered area to avoid seagull attacks which are quite common on the seafront. A beautiful and relaxing stay. There was some noise from the air vents of the nearby restaurants and some late night and early morning noise from Fore Street but this was a small price to pay for the beautiful view.

Another stay at Quilters Cabin and had a great 10 day break. If your looking for central location with large outside terrace overlooking the harbour and Smeatons Pier you won’t be disappointed

An amazing property! I’ve stayed in many different properties in St Ives over the years. Quilters Cabin is definitely my favourite, having now stayed there twice. The location is perfect and the view is lovely. Looking forward to staying again.

Just come back from fab week staying at Quilters cabin. Balcony fantastic & we spent nearly all of our time out there even when cold & raining you can sit out there as partially enclosed. Quite noisy due to extractor fans so if u want peace go out before 8 and after 10.30 but this really didn’t bother us, the flat is great everything is there that you need & very well equipped kitchen. Just to be aware fore street can be noisy at night especially Saturday night and dustman & deliveries start early so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Again this didn’t spoil the holiday for us, this really is a special place and views are breathtaking. Highly recommended

We are glad that you enjoyed your time here. Being right in the heart of St Ives you will be likely to hear the hustle and bustle of the town, and associated noises from such a location. But we are glad that you agreed it is well worth it for those amazing views and being just steps away from everything that you could want in St Ives- the beaches, shops, restaurants, cafes etc. It is a fantastic place to be able to really soak up all the atmosphere. Thanks for your feedback, and we hope to see you again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

A well equipped apartment with a wonderful balcony giving beautiful views of the harbour. This definitely offsets the slight noise issue. The location is perfect for the beaches, shops and restaurants.

Quilters cabin is a great apartment, in a great location. It’s very spacious and has everything you could need during your stay.

Absolutely loved Quilters cabin, great outside space. Right between the two bakeries on fore street, breakfast was really easy. 3.5 minutes to porthmeour, surfing even easier. Would totally recommend!

Had a fantastic week in Quilters Cabin it’s definitely the best property we have stayed in , great outside space and fabulous views . I would definitely recommend.

Quilters Cabin is the only place I would book when I return to St ives, the location is perfect. A few minutes walk to shops , bars and restaurants. The decked terrace is fantastic, the views are wonderful , it would have been so easy to sit there all day watching the wharf come to life, dog walkers, children paddling in the water and the boating activities, it really was quite magical. As an early riser myself I was able to take photos of fantastic sunrise’s and sunsets. I would highly recommend this apartment to friends and family and hope to return again soon. Thank you Aspects Holidays’s

A lovely accommodation with no expenses spared with top quality beds and bedding which makes a holiday more enjoyable. Spotlessly clean and high spec. The kitchen was really well stocked and I was able to cook Sunday roast without a problem. The balcony was a treasure. To be able to sit out there and drink my morning coffee and admire the beautiful views. The extractor fans from restaurants were no bother but the constant smell of delicious food made it impossible to stick to my diet! I have nothing but praise and hope to book again sometime.
Aspects staff were very good too as its not often you get an email to ask if everything is OK and to ask if anything was needed. Thank you all for your service and please thank the owner for allowing us to stay at their lovely apartment.

What a wonderful place to stay in St Ives. I kind of want to keep it secret, it’s so lovely. The balcony is very special indeed: with such a stunning view, you’ll be there, whatever the weather, watching spectacular sunrises and charming afternoons of people enjoying the harbour. There is even stargazing in the evenings! The apartment has everything you could need to feel at home and is in a brilliant location for access to all St Ives has to offer. We’ve loved staying here.

The apartment is excellent and the location really is superb. The combined noise of the various surrounding shops and restaurants roof top air conditioning units does take getting use to when sat out on the balcony. Whilst it may not be peaceful, the view from the rooftop is amazing and more than compensates for the constant background humming noise. Finally, I'd gladly paid extra to have the use of a permit car parking space, anywhere in St Ives!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quilters Cabin. My daughter and her partner have been working incredibly long hours and we needed a break where everything worked and went well. We weren’t disappointed. Everything was convenient for us, the position was great, close to everything. The apartment kitchen was well stocked, the beds were very comfortable and the outside patio area was a delight, much larger than expected. My only suggestion would be, if you need absolute darkness to sleep, bring a blackout curtain. Thank you Aspect holidays.

Yet another wonderful stay at Quilters Cabin. Thanks to all concerned during this really difficult time Regards Lynn Wellings

Amazing view and decking area could escape the crowds and enjoy beautiful St Ives .

Fantastic location, right in the heart of St Ives. Beautiful view and outdoor space to enjoy it. Highly recommended.

Marvellous location with the most fantastic terrace and lovely outdoor furniture. Has to be good we keep going back. ????

Another fabulous stay at Quilters Cabin and we will be back next year. We had a few heating and lighting issues in the past but Aspect informed the owners and everything was put right. Well done.

An excellent location; comfortable and well equipped with a useful outside tap and fabulous shed full of little extras for the beach which you didn't have space to bring.

What a beautiful place to stay: right in the heart of St Ives, with the best view ever! We had an amazing family holiday. Nothing beats sitting on that balcony, come rain or shine, reviewing the wonderful day you’ve just had, and planning the next one.

Quilter’s Cabin is in an excellent position in the centre of the town. The views from the terrace were amazing and hard to tear ourselves away from! Comfortable beds and chairs, excellently equipped kitchen, and two great showers. We didn’t hear any noise at night and it was hard to believe we were a few steps from Fore Street. We would definitely stay there again.

This place is not as good as it was a few years ago. The terrace is the best part but the heating and lighting in the kitchen needs sorting out.

Thank you for your comments; we are very sorry to hear this. We have since inspected the property and can confirm that an electrician has investigated the lighting and attending to this. We are also looking into your comments about the freezer and heating and will contact the owner with any feedback from our visit. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention so that we could look into this. Tanya, Customer Services we are pleased to report that the owners have since replaced all linen, installed new lighting, a new boiler and a new Range cooker

Really lovely apartment, outside space is fantastic! Great view, spacious bathroom and comfy beds. Would stay again!

Quilters cabin is a real home from home for us, lovely furnishings, well appointed kitchen and lovely appliances, comfortable and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. All of which are wonderful but the real asset is the balcony and that view. Awesome.

Quilters cabin is very central, has a wonderful terrace area overlooking the sea, gas bbq. a very well equipped property, a real home from home. Recommend Aspects holidays and will definitely use them again

Amazing views in a central location for the restaurants, shops and pubs. The flat was well equipped and very comfortable for 6.

The Views are splendid, the location is marvellous , the accommodation was comfortable and spacious and Aspects, as always, were helpful, polite and full of the joys. We had a wonderful family holiday

Absolutely one of the best views from patio we have ever had.

Anyone who stays in this apartment will be very pleased, we all loved it , would love to stay in it again if we come to st.ives. It had everything in it that we required, and was situated in a great position and the decking and view were great. Great holiday

Excellent cottage. Lived up to expectations and more. The amount of equipment left for us was amazing even the barbecue with gas provided. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture. This is by far the best one we have stayed in.

A fantastic apartment with a terrace that you will live on!! Very spacious inside, and the only down-side is the noise from Fore Street during the night.

Perfect location and a comfortable property loved the view amazing !!

We had a lovely time in Quilters Cabin- the central location and proximity to beach and town are unbeatable. The terrace with sea views was wonderful. Would definitely stay here again.

Very well appointed apartment with an excellent vista in a superbly central location. Looking forward to another stay there. Cheers Aspects

This is the nicest place we have stayed in St.Ives and we have visited many times. The overall standard is very high and the views from the roof terrace decking are superb. It is right in the centre of town and has every facility including great wifi. Happy to recommend - we have already rebooked for 2016.

Excellent property with fantastic view over the harbour. I would definitely book this property again.

Excellent property in a central position in St Ives. Large terrace partly under cover with fantastic view of the harbour and beyond, and nearby resident seagulls ....

Absolutely great property! In a perfect location in the middle of town yet we never heard any surrounding noise, the thing that made it for us was the view and the balcony which were both breathtaking. A very spacious balcony compared to other properties with a sea view and great added extras like the plug socket and lights outside. Everything was included to make our holiday easy and relaxing eg kitchen equipment, washing machine and tumble dryer. Decorations and furnishings were modern, clean and of a high standard. We couldn't fault it and will definitely be staying here again next year!
