Quay cottage is a very pretty little ex-fisherman’s cottage perfect for one or two people. It is comfortable, light and well equipped and felt surprisingly spacious especially upstairs even though the sitting area is quite small. It is accessed by several steep steps. The cottage is extremely close to the harbour (a few seconds away) which makes it perfect for having morning coffees sitting on the harbour wall or benches. You can see glimpses of the sea from the cottage windows but not full views. There is a beautiful little front garden / courtyard to sit in which is full of exotic plants. The cottage is close to the local independent grocers which stays open late, and also to the local shops and restaurants. A lovely little find!

Holidays at The Wharf

Many of our cottages at The Wharf overlook the working harbour of St Ives. Here you'll find fishing boats, a gorgeous sandy beach and in the summer season you can take advantage of the boat trips on offer. Home to The RNLI, The St Ives Lifeboat Station is close by and is a popular attraction with tourists.

The Wharf, otherwise known as St Ives harbour, is a hive of activity throughout the year. With a continual hustle and bustle on the water and along the harbour front, there is always plenty to do and see while self catering at the Wharf, even at the quieter times of the year.  It’s an ever changing scene so perfect for those artists among you. Don’t forget about the very sheltered, sandy Harbour Beach, a perfect sun-trap in the heart of town and a great place to find seaglass and sea pottery! As night falls at the end of another perfect day, St Ives comes alive with a selection of bars, restaurants and cafés to suit every pocket and every taste in a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Top tip

Be careful of the seagulls when eating at The Wharf.

Things to do on The Wharf

Boat Trips

Why not enjoy the scenery by boat and explore the coastline with an excursion with St Ives Boat Trips. Fishing trips are available for those looking for a bit of adventure, or for a more relaxing experience, a visit to seal island lets you see seals basking on the rocks at certain times of year.

Eating and Drinking

The Wharf is home to a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, serving up fresh fish and chips to gourmet burgers, with something to suit everyone. Enjoy an ice cream or Cornish pasty and watch the world go by on the harbour front, but remember to keep your wits about you; seagulls in St Ives are renowned for swooping in and stealing food right from your hands!

Smeaton's Pier

From here you'll get a stunning view of the harbour, and an up close view of the crystal clear waters. At the entrance to the pier you'll find St Leonard's Chapel; originally dedicated for local fisherman, it is now a museum and memorial for the fisherman of St Ives.

Lifeboat station

Home to the new £1.5 million lifeboat, the RNLI lifeboat station is a popular attraction for visitors to St Ives. The gift shop next door sells souvenirs where all profits go towards helping to save lives at sea.

Excellent location

Quay Cottage was really great. Super location and we loved the little garden oasis. We would definitely book it again.

Possibly the best stay for two persons in St Ives, with a lovely patio

Several issues upon arrival but once these were sorted we had a lovely stay at the cottage. Very centrally placed with excellent access to beaches, pubs and restaurants.

We have always found Aspects provide an excellent service from booking and during the holiday where required.

Quay Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. Small but perfectly formed, and perfect for a couple. When inside the property it feels like you are away from the hubbub of town, when really and truly you are on top of it, but because it is set back from the main thoroughfair and behind a lovely courtyard garden, available for use also, nobody really knows it is there. It is a stone's throw from the beach too, and my favourite sunny corner of St Ives. We can't wait to stay there again. Aspects never let's us down, and their communication is exceptional.

A sweet little cottage in a fabulous location, lovely and clean, very comfortable. Would happily recommend!

Lovely small one bed house. Kitchen has everything you could reasonably need. The main plus point is the location every morning we walked with our coffee to sit on the benches overlooking the sea, it is a 20 second walk. It allowed us to really enjoy and take advantage of everything St Ives has to offer, we didn't use the car once

Nice little cottage right close to everything.beaches shops walks etc

Beautiful cottage in a fabulous location for town and beaches Will definitely book again.

Super apartment right in the centre of town. Very comfy and clean. Owner lives next door and surprised us by replacing our camping chair after it was accidentally taken with the refuse, what a kind gesture, thank you!

We have had holidays in St Ives over many years with a number of Companies and have found Aspects service above and beyond their competitors.

Lovely comfortable cottage, right around all shops /pubs . Would definitely stay there again

Had a great time, Quay Cottage was great, fantastic location, really easy to wander around St Ives without needing the car etc. The cottage is ideally sized for two people, with good amenities and equipment. Really quaint and lots of character!

Lovely little cottage situated in an excellent location by the pier. Very handy for the shops, restaurants and beaches. Very cosy and you can even hear the waves!

Lovely cottage for couples on the harbour. Easy access to shops and beaches in St Ives.

Lovely position, so quiet yet so central. A pretty, light cottage with a beautiful small garden to sit in.

This is a cute, rustic little property that is in an excellent central location .

Absolutely perfect little fisherman's cottage for our babymoon! Two up, one down, Quay Cottage is ideally located for the hubbub of St Ives. It's surprisingly peaceful considering its central location, close to pubs and restaurants and easy walking distance to Porthgwidden, Porthminster and Porthmeor beaches. If we didn't have a baby on the way we'd have already booked for next year.

Great place to stay with everything you need for a nice comfortable stay in St. Ives. Great location right on the harbourfront.

We have stayed at many properties in St Ives over the years, and this year Quay cottage did not disappoint. A clean, well maintained little bolt hole, and in a very good position for everything you need for your holiday in St Ives.

A delightful, modern cottage handy for the beach and with the added bonus of an outdoor seating area. We had a lovely week and are looking to book again for next year.

Quay Cottage has all of the quaint period features with the benefit of contemporary kitchen and bathroom and even has a sea view. It was perfect for our seaside escape, close to car parks, beaches, bars and restaurants. The Aspects team were fantastic, following finding structural issues with our original booking we were given a list of alternatives to choose from. Great communication and empathy.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are truly so pleased to read that despite the unforseen structural issues at the origional property you booked, you had a perfect stay at Quay Cottage. It certainly is a great spot if you are looking to be close to everything and the sea view is such a added bonus. We do hope that we will see you back again very soon. Lucy, Customer Services

Excellent

Had an amazing week in a beautiful St Ives, location perfect with everything on the doorstep.

Would highly recommend :)

The cottage was amazing: ideallic, lovely, stunning, had everything you would and super comfortable. The service was great and so helpful, when needed. The location was perfect and so ideal; being someone who has stayed in St. Ives a number of times, I have to say this has been my best experience of accommodation. I absolutely loved it my stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone - maybe even return one day in the future.

Beautiful cottage. Fantastic location.

St ives is a beautiful corner of the world. You will not be disappointed.

We enyojed our second stay at the Quay Cottage as much as the first one last year. Great Location and beaches just around the corner. The cottage ist perfect for a couple, the style is cosy and it is fully equipped. We would absolutely recommend this cottage!!

Aspect holidays and staff very helpfull and friendly would and do recommend them to friends and family

Wonderful little property - just perfect for a weeks' getaway. Close to the pier, sea, shops and St.Ives Bakery that we visited on many occasions throughout the week. Really well equipped, as we most cook at home and don't do take-aways.

The only minus to the property (or many other holiday lets in St Ives) is that it does not have recycling information/options and only due to our persistence, we eventually found bins to at least recycle plastic from our food packaging, milk etc. Other than that nothing to complain about and the property is otherwise brilliant ! :)

Felt so at home in the cottage that I've booked again for next year.

This was the first time we had booked a cottage using Aspect Holiday and I found them very helpful and professional. The cottage was extremely well equiped and in an excellent location.

Quality service from Aspects with great accomodation at Quay Cottage. Comfortable, clean and warm with everything you would need for your stay. Superb location with everything on your doorstep. Not a problem for parking as the Island Carpark just a very short stroll away. Would highly recommend this property and would no doubt use again.

Can’t recommend this little cottage enough. Lovely and cosy. Great location and we could hear the waves at night. Steps lead up to the cottage and there is a lovely little courtyard in front. Can’t wait to go back! Only wish we could take the dog.

Quay Cottage is perfect for a couple who are content to remain in St Ives for the duration of their stay with the added benefit of an invaluable courtyard garden

We spend fantastic two weeks at the Cottage. It ist perfect for a couple! The Location in St. Ives with bars/Restaurants/beaches just around the Corner makes the Cottage perfect for a Holiday. We would definitely recomend it!! Looking Forward to coming back!

Quay Cottage is in a lovely quiet location only a brief walk from the lively bars and restaurants on the wharf and a few steps from the beach. It is a perfect romantic retreat, where you can hear the sea!
