The Wharf, otherwise known as St Ives harbour, is a hive of activity throughout the year. With a continual hustle and bustle on the water and along the harbour front, there is always plenty to do and see while self catering at the Wharf, even at the quieter times of the year. It’s an ever changing scene so perfect for those artists among you. Don’t forget about the very sheltered, sandy Harbour Beach, a perfect sun-trap in the heart of town and a great place to find seaglass and sea pottery! As night falls at the end of another perfect day, St Ives comes alive with a selection of bars, restaurants and cafés to suit every pocket and every taste in a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Boat Trips
Why not enjoy the scenery by boat and explore the coastline with an excursion with St Ives Boat Trips. Fishing trips are available for those looking for a bit of adventure, or for a more relaxing experience, a visit to seal island lets you see seals basking on the rocks at certain times of year.
Eating and Drinking
The Wharf is home to a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, serving up fresh fish and chips to gourmet burgers, with something to suit everyone. Enjoy an ice cream or Cornish pasty and watch the world go by on the harbour front, but remember to keep your wits about you; seagulls in St Ives are renowned for swooping in and stealing food right from your hands!
Smeaton's Pier
From here you'll get a stunning view of the harbour, and an up close view of the crystal clear waters. At the entrance to the pier you'll find St Leonard's Chapel; originally dedicated for local fisherman, it is now a museum and memorial for the fisherman of St Ives.
Lifeboat station
Home to the new £1.5 million lifeboat, the RNLI lifeboat station is a popular attraction for visitors to St Ives. The gift shop next door sells souvenirs where all profits go towards helping to save lives at sea.

Amazing views from all the rooms and in a central location on the wharf. Great property as long as you are ok with stairs and limited space around the bed.

We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed this property and its amazing location. Being a second floor apartment, it involves a number of stairs which we try to make as clear as possible in the description and try to show the room around the beds as clearly as we can. We always want to be as open and honest as possible, and try to give an accurate representation of properties within our photos, so hope that we have achieved that in this case, but we will continue to monitor feedback. We hope that it suited all members of your party, and hope that you enjoyed everything that St Ives had to offer. Thank you for taking the time to send in your comments. Tanya, Customer Services.

Thank you for your comments. It really is an absolutely fantastic location, with front row seats to watch over the harbour. We are sorry that the carpets had been in that condition but are pleased to now report that the owner has had new carpets fitted throughout. We are sure that this will have made a huge difference. Thank you again for letting us know. Tanya, Customer Services
Great family holiday. The stunning views made up for a few minor improvements needed.
Mrs Gingell Jul 2019
Let me start by saying we love visiting St Ives as its such a magical place. However, Midships, the wharf came very close to ruining our week’s stay in lovely St Ives. Aspect Holidays customer service department tried to rectify the truly awful experience of staying at Midships but even with a small refund our week was tainted by the smell, the filth and the disturbingly old and uncomfortable mattresses. Apparently the owner will rectify the many issues with the property but unfortunately for us not soon enough.

We were so sorry to have heard that you had not found this property to be up to the high standards that you have come to expect from properties that we market. Of course, mattresses can be a little tricky to judge as everyone has different preferences with these, but upon inspection, we completely agreed that the carpets needed replacing. Having discussed everything at the time with you, we understand that the owner's agreement to replace all carpets and mattresses, unfortunately wasn't something that would help improve your stay due to the timescales on ordering these, but we wanted you to know that your comments were taken very seriously and acted upon. Again, we are sorry for your experience on this occasion and sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back, to restore your faith in the properties that we market.
