Lovely little holiday home In the centre of everything Close to beaches would stay here again

Lovely place to stay for two people. Would definitely stay here again.

Dove’s Nest is a small but very well thought out and pleasingly decorated and furnished property. Ideally situated for arrival by train, near beaches and shops. We found it quiet considering how busy St. Ives is in the holiday season. A lovely nest to come back too!

Doves Cottage was ideally placed for getting into town. However, it is extremely small and would not suit guests of a bigger stature. We found a lack of hanging space because of this and this was especially inconvenient when towels had become damp or wet after using the shower. Also,we wondered where we would have hung wet coats had the weather been inclement.

We are sorry to hear if the size of this property and storage at the property was not what you were expecting. We have tried to show the size as clearly as possible in the photos on the website. It is a small but lovely and cosy property in the heart of St Ives, and whilst it may not suit everyone in terms of the space on offer, it has everything that is needed for a relaxing break here. The owners provide a hanging bar on the reverse of bathroom door for towels and a coat hanging bar on the reverse of the bedroom door. They have also provided a small drying airing bar and circular peg hanger that can be hung in the bathroom or outside, for drying smaller items. Hopefully you came across these and we do hope that you still enjoyed your time here. Tanya, Customer Services

A wonderful stay in a beautiful apartment.
Close to the shops, bars and restaurants but still only a couple of minutes stroll to the sea front. More than enough plates, pans and cutlery. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was in the evening considering the closeness to bars! I would recommend a stay at Doves Nest. We have booked to go back again next year and can not wait

Lovely place in a great location with everything you need provided.

Another Holiday booked with Aspects!! Stayed at The Doves Nest in St Ives. Stayed here before a few times. Lovely cosy apartment for 2,close to town beach, restaurants etc. Will stay again!!!

Absolutely loved everything about Dove’s Nest - so cosy and welcoming! I’m getting on in years now, and found the location peaceful and so handy for all amenities. Hope to be back Dove’s Nest, as soon as possible!

Angela Gordon-Jackson. October 2021

A bijou property in a quiet street right beside the town centre Comfortable and well equipped for self catering, only a short stroll to the myriad of restaurants, regrettably all booked up until the end of October, but Haine Inn ( wetherspoons, 25 meters away) was always available

This was my second visit to Dove's Nest. The little cottage is small and cosy but just right for me. The sofa has been reupholstered since last time and there are new curtains and cushions. Apart from the rug in the lounge being in need of a good clean, everything is in excellent condition. I had another lovely holiday, meeting up with my son & family who were staying in Carbis Bay and then returning back to Dove’s Nest for the restful peace and quiet. The cottage is only a few steps from the nearby town but tucked away up a side street, away from the hustle and bustle.

I would highly recommend staying there and intend to return in the future. Many thanks, once again, Dove’s Nest.

Doves Nest is a lovely apartment very central and beautifully decorated I will definitely stay again.

We have used Aspects on a few occasions and have always been pleased with the service

We loved our stay at Doves Nest and would come back again. It is in the perfect central location, cosy and comfortable, and is very well equipped. I think it has recently been decorated since the photos on the website which was also a nice surprise. The patio out front is a bonus for such a small property in St Ives and it does get the sun for a few hours in the afternoon. Although there’s no parking at the property we were able to park in the Park Avenue car park which is less than a 10 minute walk away (although it is uphill).

Great little property in a fantastic central location. Even though it is small, the space has been very cleverly used and it has everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Brilliant stay. Cottage is small but perfectly formed, great location.

I had been shielding due to Covid-19 and was so looking forward to getting away for a break. Dove Cottage was a perfect little place for that. Cosy and warm with a lovely ‘feel’ to it. Yes, it’s small but there was only me so no problems there. Everything was in good working order, very clean and comfortable.

The bed was fine and I slept really well. The shower is electric and therefore you need to pull to pull cord with the little red house attached in order for it to work - says the lady who thought it was broken and phoned Aspects! The kitchen is very well equipped (I didn’t cook so I don’t know about the oven) and the lounge/diner is very pretty. Comfy sofa, little table and chairs and I loved the use of mirrors to create the feel of space.

The location in a very quiet street is perfect as it is just round the corner from two Co-ops, The Post Office, two pasty shops, two taxi offices and the bus stop!

I had a wonderful stay and am thinking of trying to re-book next year. Thank you for looking after me so well Dove Cottage!

Unfortunately our experience was poor overall and I would not recommend anyone booking Dove's Nest until some issues are resolved. I will be factual and try to be as fair as possible in my review. Good points - the properly is a cute, light and bright place with a well equipped and decent sized kitchen and a good central location. The bedroom is quiet, at the back of the property. The is a hairdryer, ironing board and iron in the property which is useful (although none of this information was available on the website or in the arrival guide we received).

Not so good points - outside of Aspect Holidays' control - location is noisy - just off one of them main town centre streets so there is a lot of very loud traffic noise all day and into the early evening; the bedroom is hot and stuffy due to the nature/design of the property - windows are not secure enough at front of property to be left open to allow a flow through of air - they would easily allow theft to take place should someone take a chance.

Problems with the property and Aspect Holidays that are within their control: The floor was dirty when we arrived - had not been swept so we needed to do this ourselves after I walked on it in my bare feet and ended up with a coating of crud on them. Bedroom very hot and stuffy - needs a fan in there - my partner couldn't sleep so he pulled out the sofa bed in the living room which was filthy - covered in dust balls on the underside and the mattress stained and full of sand - cleaners obviously do not check or clean this. The state of the sofa in the living room is a disgrace - it is white leather which is well used and badly worn/damaged (peeling surface etc.) and it looks horrible as a result. The damage is covered by means of a 'throw' which constantly slides off and exposes the damage on the back (also makes the sofa uncomfortable to sit on due to crumpled throw in the way all the time); the arm covers also fall/slide off a bit and expose the damage, and they are not even properly big enough to cover it. I note that a previous customer mentioned this in their review but Aspect have done nothing to address it , ie. buy a new (and more practical) sofa.

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear that this property did not meet your expectations, and if the floor had not been suitably cleaned. Whilst you would expect everything to be 100% for your arrival, we would have got the housekeeper back over there straight away, had we been aware. At this stage it is very difficult to be able to comment fully on it, with further cleans having taken place, but we have passed the feedback on to the property owner and their housekeeper and we have carried out an unannounced cleaning check since, which I am pleased to report was all to a high standard. The sofa is not advertised as a sofa bed and linen not provided for it, so with that in mind, the housekeepers do not pull the whole thing out each week to clean out all the insides. That said, it should be in good order and we have requested that the sofa be replaced or reupholstered following on from inspections and previous feedback, but with the lack of gaps in between bookings the owners could not do this. The decision and timings of replacing something like this is completely out of Aspects hands I am afraid, as we do not own the properties and do not have the authorisation to just go ahead and replace owners' items. However, we are pleased to be able to confirm that the sofa has now been reupholstered. Thank you for letting us know about the road noise, because, whilst it is not far from the main road through St Ives, it is tucked back a little, so we have always found it very quiet there, however, there may be busier periods that we have not experienced that perhaps make the road noise more noticeable and at night, when trying to sleep, this may be more noticeable, so that is helpful to know. We will keep an eye out for further feedback and if this is something that causes concern for others too, we will make sure that this risk is highlighted within the website description. We do hope that you still had an enjoyable time, exploring all the great things that St Ives has to offer. Tanya, Customer Services

Bright and warm cottage with fresh decor, small but well equipped and would suit average sized adults without mobility issues (due to compact nature and lack of parking nearby.) Right in town but in a quiet street-lovely stay!

Fab little place and located well, but ensure you check that the being is correct size for the bed and that the cleaning of the bathroom is to standard including the expels-air fan in the ceiling.

Otherwise the place is great for a person on there own or a couple.

Lovely property perfect for two people. Great location too.

Dove's Nest is a lovely little place, nice décor, central and vey convenient, yet quiet. It wasn't suitable for me because of the deep step. Aspects couldn't have been more helpful and measured the step, but the extra inch and a half higher than my home steps caused me problems. I thought of a brilliant solution - buying a non slip step from a disabled aids type shop - if only I'd thought of it on Saturday not on the Thursday. Anyone with mobility problems should be aware of the deep step and sloping slate path. It does look really nice though. The front door step slopes and could also be an issue. The flat is all on one level, small, but not cramped. There was couple of problems, they didn't bother me, so I let Aspects know. The sofa needs replacing, that would stop me re-booking if I was fit enough to cope with the step. Just pointing out some relevant helpful details. For the fit and able it's really nice.

We are so sorry to hear that despite your planning, the height of this step still caused more problems for you than expected. If you do ever want to return, we would be happy to see if we can help with sourcing something on your behalf that could help. Thank you for also letting us know your thoughts on the sofa; it can be quite difficult to find mattresses and sofas that will suit everyone's taste, everyone being different; but we will check it on the next inspection, and in the meantime, monitor for any further feedback on this. Thanks again, and we hope that we will see you back here in St Ives very soon. Tanya, Customer Services

The Doves Nest is a lovely little apartment, right in the centre of town it’s super convenient. One thing to note about this is it doesn’t come with parking and when it’s peak season it was hard to find parking in the car parks or streets which was a bit stressful. The apartment itself is nice and well equipped, the bedroom is pretty small so was hard to keep clothes etc tidy but otherwise worked well. We found it a little damp, not helped by drying wetsuits but overall it was a lovely stay.

A lovely cosy cottage for a romantic week away we’d definitely return

Small but well designed ground floor of a cottage, everything you need for self catering is supplied to a good standard. The cottage is in a very quiet location but very well situated for the many shops / bars and restaurants in the area , the beach is a ten minute walk away, overall very impressed and will definitely be back in the future

Great location and ideal for two !

Despite the difficulty we experienced entering and exiting the cottage each day we still enjoyed our stay and will use Aspects again

We are sorry if there was any confusion over the accessibility of this property. We tag it as being accessible due to its suitability for those with limited mobility, having just a couple of steps up to the property, and being level inside; as opposed to it being wheelchair friendly. I can see that a previous guest review had stated that they were in a wheelchair and found it suitable, so we can see how this could have given you that impression. We are sorry if this caused any issue for you during your stay here, and are glad that you still enjoyed it despite the difficulty that you had. Please do get in contact with us if you are ever looking to return, so that we can help you in finding somewhere that will meet all of your requirements. Tanya, Customer Services

A really centrally located property within easy walking distance of shops harbour front and other amenities which make St. Ives so attractive

Dove's Nest is a very sweet and cosy ground floor flat with a patio to the front. It is very well located close to shops and to the harbour front. It is in a quiet street and has everything you need for a comfortable stay in beautiful St Ives.

The cottage is very central for all amenities, and very good for older couples and no steps to climb, would highly recommend .

Our holiday with aspects was nothing short of idyllic. The cottage was lovely and in just the right place to get to get to everywhere. Wonderful!

Nicely decorated but be aware it's compact with open kitchen area and lounge/dining area, one small bedroom and small bathroom. Although light inside it does not have a sunny aspect. Very convenient position in town.

Great property for a short break in wonderful St Ives.

Enjoyed our stay over the New Year period, excellent location for walking into the town and the cottage is very cosy.

Close to town, beach & all amenities. Ideal for people with mobility problems, no steps or stairs to climb. A cosy warm place to stay, especially out of season, more than pleased & would stay again. Thanks to Aspects holidays we had a wonderful time!!
