October 2022

Comfortable, reasonably well-equipped apartment with stellar views of the harbor. Requires renters who are OK with walking up hills and climbing stairs. The price we paid for a mid September week was a good value. We would be happy to rent this apartment again. If this place were not available, we would first look for other options on the same street. (Draycott Terrace.)

This is a small apartment in a great location. Other than that it needs so many improvements it makes me wonder why Aspects represent this place...

However, St. Ives was wonderful, as always!

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you had another great stay in St Ives. Whilst this property is not marketed as one of our higher end/modern properties, it should always be well maintained, so please know we will work with the owner to carry out any necessary improvements following its annual inspection. We are sorry to hear that this property was not for you, but we hope we can welcome you back to Cornwall again soon. Katy, Customer Services.

We had an absolutely brilliant Chrismas overlooking the bay in St Ives. Winter is a wonderful time to visit Cornwall. We've been booking with Aspect holidays for five years and this is the worst property we have stayed in. The whole place needs renovating, new kitchen, bathroom, sofas and beds. It could be an absolutely amazing property as the view is simply outstanding. But it needs a lot of love and attention to bring it up to standard.

We are sorry to hear this and sorry if this was not what was expected from the photos. We try to show the style of décor as best as we can, as it is not the most modern of apartments, but offers great value for the amazing location and stunning views. We take all feedback seriously though and will check over everything again on our next inspection and pass on any suggestions and recommendations to the property owner. Thank you for your feedback. Perfect location. There is a big hill but St Ives is renowned for it’s hills. The flat is definitely tired and in need of updating. The pipes make a very strange noise (intermittently) but overall we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.

There are certainly plenty of hills around here, but they help to provide some amazing views, as well as a way to work off a few of those pasties and ice creams ;-) We try to show the style of décor at this property as best as possible, as it will not be to everyone's taste, but that is also reflected in how this property is priced, so we do hope that it is hat you had expected from the website description and photos. Thank you for letting us know about the pipes. We had not been made aware of this happening previously, so we will inform the owner, so that it can be investigated. Thanks again. Tanya, Customer Services

The apartment is in a good location and has an incredible view of beautiful St.Ives. As mentioned in other reviews, furniture (sofa) needs updating - was uncomfortable to sit on! Overall we would stay again.

Absolutely amazing location, beautiful views, lovely house and aspects were great to respond with queries. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit and fully recommend x

Stunning view in a great location. Set at the appropriate price point. The flat is very tired, mattresses and couches are uncomfortable and need replacing, and the decor is outdated. This accommodation is far from luxury, but it's redeeming features are as above - excellent view and top location.

Gorgeous views at this property. Very comfortable beds. Would stay here again.

A lovely flat with excellent views of the whole of at ives.

Fabulous views furnishings tired needs a good clean and updating.

The table in the bay window is as shown and the view is spectacular. However, apartment is a bit tired with lots of small repairs required. You can’t park as stated you also can’t turn the car round as to many people with permits are parked up both sides of the road. The hill to the town is steep, or there are steep steps outside the apartment, plus the hill down to Porthminster beach is a killer. The apartment is over stuffed with cushions and kitchen items plates etc The bathroom needs some TLC along with the bedroom furniture. It does now have WiFi although the brochure has not been updated yet I believe. The bunk beds are a good substantial set and the master bed is a king size 5ft, we stayed last week from 29th May 2021, we had a lovely week and walked over 20,000 steps a day mainly to the beach. The open air bus can be picked up half way down the hill which is a nice half day out and the train station is very close as well. I booked this apartment as my daughter stayed at Tregenna Castle and the gate is opposite. I am 50/50 wether I would book this apartment again mainly because of the hill, and lack of ladies toilets open in the town, as it’s to far to pop back to. However, I would definitely source my accommodation again through Aspect Holidays. I also have photos but not sure if they can be posted on here

Thank you for your comments. Every piece of feedback is automatically sent on to the property owners so that they are aware of where guests feel any improvements can be made and any additions to the property that guests will find beneficial. We also use all guests feedback in our property inspections which get sent on to owners, to try and encourage changes that guests would like to see, so thank you for sending on your thoughts about the décor and furnishings. This property does not come with parking, so we advise on parking at the station car park as this is the closest to the property, however, it cannot be guaranteed that there will be spaces available, particularly as this one fills up very quickly. The team here are always happy to help in advising on alternative car parks if you would like further information on that in future. For unloading, whist you can pull up on Draycott Terrace itself, it will require some careful manoeuvring to get back out onto the main road, so this may not be something that everyone is comfortable with. The website has since been updated to show that Wi-Fi is now available at the property, however, the brochures cannot be changed until they are printed ready for the following year unfortunately. Thank you again for your helpful feedback and we hope that we will see you here again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

This property is a bit tired and could do with some attention esp in the bathroom and bedrooms. Don't go for the shower ! The views are fantastic to be fair, however not for the elderly as the climb up the hill from Pothminster Beach would be a challenge.

Thank you for your feedback. We try to show the style of décor as best as we can, so that guests will know what to expect. We appreciate that it will not be to everyone's taste, but we will be back to inspect the property again soon and will make recommendations to the property owner. Thank you for your comments, they really are useful in helping to highlight to the owner, what improvements are considered to be the most important for guests. Tanya, Customer Services

Beautiful location and views Close to everything Perfect for short stay

Overall a lovely pleasant stay at Hazelbury House, we stayed 4 nights for a long weekend. The location was spot on, you get a lovely sea view of Porthminster beach and St Ives town. Short walk (2mins) down to the beach and around 10/15 mins to harbour. The apartment is as described but i do think the images make it look slightly more modern than it is but it did the job for us. The property was clean and had fresh towels for us. We would definitely return to this property if we visited St Ives again.

Although stated on the property details the lack of parking and WIFI was the only negative.

Amazing views and very close to Porthminster beach. Comfortable double bed and the dishwasher was very handy. Wifi would be a real benefit as only a very week signal which is frustrating. Little bit dated but an excellent base and we had a fab holiday.

While the house is liveable, it’s certainly not somewhere we would want to stay again. Very old and dated decor, furniture. The house was also dirty. Filthy chairs, skirting boards and cushions. Comfortable bed and bedroom was a better standard. Noisy neighbours partying until 2am above was disappointing. Plumbing makes a load noise when you use a tap, to be honest I was embarrassed and apologised to my family for booking it. The images are not representative of the property. Very dissatisfied but we still managed to enjoy St Ives.

Thank you for your comments. We are very sorry to hear this. We appreciate that the style and decor may not suit everyone, and we try including as many photos as we can so guests know what to expect. Each year we take our time to inspect the properties and will always pass on our feedback and that of guests, to the owners, so that they can work on improving areas that will most benefit guests. We will look into your feedback further on the next inspection. We are also sorry to hear that the cleanliness was not to the standard that you would expect; please rest assured that this was followed up on with the housekeeper. We also wanted to reassure you that noise disturbance has not been a regular occurrence, so we would assume that it was a one-off from another holiday rental above. We appreciate that this would have been very frustrating, so we are sorry that you experienced this and we hope that your time in St Ives was still enjoyed despite this. Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back soon. Ben, Customer Services

A beautiful apartment in a beautiful location.

Lovely views from this apartment however photos aren't a true reflection and this apartment is looking tired and dated. Insufficient room for a dog crate if you're bringing a pet with you.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad that you enjoyed those amazing views. We are sorry to hear that you feel the photos are not a true reflection of the property as we always try to be open and honest and want to accurately reflect properties within all photos and descriptions. We aim to offer a wide range of properties that we hope will meet the different budgets, differing requirements and individual tastes and whilst 2 Hazelbury is within one of the lowest price bands for a sea view property in St Ives, the owner always addresses any maintenance that arises and had updated a few areas a little while back. We have tried to show the type and style of decor provided here, as well as we possibly can, but your comments have been sent on to the property owners so that they can consider any suggestions for future improvements, so thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts and we hope to see you back here in St Ives soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Our 2019 holiday in St Ives was great despite the mixed weather. There were loads of things to do and see. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches, went on some challenging walks, saw seals and dolphins and ate some delicious food at the Porthminster Cafe.

The location and view are just fantastic. We had a perfect holiday and would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location with superb views over St Ives harbour. Just a few seconds to the coastal path towards Carbis Bay and a few minutes to the middle of St Ives. The only slight negative is the need to park either at the nearby train station, if space is available, or Trenwith Car park, which is a few minutes walk away.

Pictures do not accurately represent the apartment. The apartment was disappointing and requires refurbishing and modernising.

Thank you for your comments. Since receiving your feedback, we have investigated this and contacted you, and are very sorry that it was not 100% for your arrival there. After our inspection, we listed all areas that needed addressing, and can confirm that the owner has attended to everything. With a further couple of visits since, we are happy that everything is now accuarately represented. Alot can happen in a short space of time in holiday let properties, in between our planned inspections, so thank you again for bringing this to our attention; so that we could investigate and ensure that everything was addressed. Fantastic view, near the beach, but no parking spaces

The view from this property is the wow factor

Views of the Bay & town to die for with excellent access to Porthminster Beach.

Remember to reverse down the road rather than go in forwards as turning is a challenge!

Certainly would stay there again.
