Six Crusoes is a superb apartment opposite Porthmeor beach ideal for couples wanting to be within feet of the surf and sand plus a short stroll along the cobbled Digey to the heart of St Ives. Everything you could possibly want on holiday is on your door step; restaurants, pubs and bars, the neighbouring Tate gallery, shops and the fabulous working harbour where boat rides and sight-seeing trips run from. If you prefer a little quiet, and would love to explore some sheltered coves along the coastal path, you are ideally placed to head in the direction of Zennor where the views are nothing short of spectacular whatever the weather.

Can't wait to return! A lovely apartment, well equipped, with spectacular views. Close to all the main amenities and attractions, yet far enough away to remain quiet and tranquil - superb all round. We had a wonderful New Year stay!

The Tate is a must; something everyone should visit at least once, or simply relax and enjoy the view from one of our many self-catering beach-front apartments. Most of the town and all it has to offer is a level walk from Porthmeor, making it many of our guests' first choice of location. Many Porthmeor properties offer parking and most have superb beach views and balconies.

Local events

St Ives Feast Day

Held on the anniversary of the consecration of the Parish Church of St Eia in 1434 AD, Feast Day offers visitors to witness - and even join in with - some centuries-old traditions. A morning precesison led by the Mayor to bless the Well of St Eia. Following this, the Mayor will 'Hurls the Silver Ball' into a crowd of children who assemble on the beach below. The one who returns the ball to the Guildhall steps by midday receives a silver coin. In the afternoon the Mayor then throw pennies from the balcony of the Guildhall for children to collect.
