Great position for beach has everything you need always enjoy our stay here.

Beautiful accommodation, bright & airy and the beds were very comfortable. Location was perfect, steps from Porthmeor beach and a couple of minute walk to centre of St Ives harbour & porthwidden beach. Absolutely little gem! I could have stayed here forever. Will definitely stay again.

We had a fabulous week. A very comfortable holiday let.
We didn’t want for anything.
Loved the place.

Great location, comfy beds, basic amenities. Everything is in walking distance, nice local shop for everyday supplies. Great walking routes.

Booked this accommodation for the location and this didn’t disappoint, however, the bathroom needs to be updated.

You certainly don't get much closer to the beach than this! The location is amazing, isn't it? We aim to offer a wide range of properties that we hope will meet the different budgets, differing requirements and individual tastes. Whilst this property is not marketed as one of our higher end properties, with some areas not being as modern in appearance as others, this helps to keep it more affordable when compared to others with that kind of location, but of a higher spec/more modern decor. We always try to ensure that the photos and descriptions are accurate, so we do hope that this was what you had expected. Your comments are automatically sent on to the property owners, so that they can consider any suggestions for future improvements though, so thank you for the helpful comments and we hope to see you back soon. by the beach ok for young not so good for older

With By the Beach being a ground floor apartment, with just a couple of steps into it, a level walk into the main part of town and just seconds from Porthmeor Beach, the living space being open plan, and with a double and twin bedroom, this property has always suited a very wide range of visitors, young and old. We try to give a good and accurate representation of the property within the photos so that guests will know what to expect, but the team here are always happy to answer any questions before booking, if you want to make sure that you are selecting the right property for all your party's needs. We hope that it was what you had expected and that you enjoyed your time here. Tanya, Customer Services

The flat is good, fine for 2 people, a bit small for 4. There is a slight privacy problem as folk walking by kept looking in, as at street level- so had to keep blinds down. Very clean and great location though.

Great location, literally 100 metres to the beach. Very basic accommodation that we didn’t feel was really big enough for 4 adults. Needs a lick of paint and a new kitchen and bathroom with a better layout. Think this accommodation lends itself to those who want to spend the day surfing and just want a base near the beach but not looking for a touch of luxury.

We are sorry if this was not what you had expected. With a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, dining table and seating for 4, and the 2 sofas; the owners have provided everything required to comfortably sleep 4. Some may prefer to have more space though, particularly if you are used to more at home, or if you are planning to spend a lot of time in the property. It works extremely well as a handy base for those wanting to be out and about enjoying all the amazing beaches, the lovely town of St Ives and exploring further afield, with a comfortable apartment to return to, to rest and recover before another exciting day. Tanya, Customer Services

Just right for 4, very well-equipped and excellent location...literally 20 metres from Porthmeor beach!

Have stayed here a few times now and personally love it. Centrally located for everything and car park within walking distance. Seagulls noisy during the night but didn’t spoil our holiday in anyway. St Ives wouldn’t be the same without them. Will be returning next year.

It would have been useful in the Arrival information to be told that a car park is just up the road from the cottage and that it’s easiest to unload from there. As it was we had to drive around a few times on narrow busy roads with lots of reversing as several cars were coming in the opposite direction, then behind us as well.... Not knowing St Ives at all meant it took us much longer than necessary to find the property.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your helpful feedback. We have now added extra advisory notes to the arrival document, to inform guests where the nearest car park is located and the suggestion of unloading there. Unfortunately, with its history as a traditional fishing village, St Ives just wasn't designed with today's traffic in mind, so the streets are quite narrow and many properties do not have parking, but it is something that makes it such a charming place to visit. We hope that you enjoyed it once you had found the property and settled in. Tanya, Customer Services

Beautiful accommodation, well equipped and a fantastic location, the beach is literally around the corner!! Parking a nightmare so be prepared, we were able to unload outside the property but then had to park outside of the main town as no parking available near the accommodation. St Ives was so busy but this may have been down to ease of lockdown and pubs/restaurants reopening.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

That location really is amazing, isn't it? Just to be able to take a short stroll around the corner to get to the beach and being able to nip back in whenever needed during the day. With this location comes the compromise of parking. Very few of the traditional properties in the town, come with parking. As an old fishing village, it just hadn't been built with parking and today's traffic in mind, but it is something that gives it the charm that so many people come here to see and enjoy today. If you are booking a property without this facility, it is always worth looking into parking options beforehand on the local council website, private parking availability, or even the park and ride scheme, particularly for peak weeks where the demand is exceptionally high. Please feel free to contact the team for any advice. Thanks for your comments, and we hope to see you back here soon. Tanya, Customer Services

The flat is in a fantastic location. We were on the beach in seconds, which meant a very happy dog! The kitchen is well stocked and functional.

Storage is very limited in this property. We struggled with a four night stay with two teenagers. Had we taken body boards I really don’t know where we’d have kept them. We ended up leaving some of our things (wellies, spare coats, buckets...) in our car and trekking back for it.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

As with many of the more traditional properties here in the town; they can be a little smaller and have quirkier layouts than what we are used to in more modern buildings, so we try to show this as clearly as we can in the photos. They do have a huge amount of character and charm though, and By The Beach is definitely no exception to this. We hope that its charm and the absolutely amazing location, literally a few steps onto the beach, made the storage situation, a compromise well worth making. Tanya, Customer Services

Very cost but roomy cottage in a great location. We really relaxed and enjoyed our week. Thank you.

Great property ideal location close to beach and shops no steep hills to climb comfy beds Will definitely return.

Very close to beaches and town. Nice outside seating area. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely clean bedding and towels. On our arrival found no toilet paper had been left!! Also only one tea towel for the week. Street light Outside twin room made it impossible to sleep, black out blinds imperative. Property is very small.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your helpful feedback; we will pass on your suggestion of a blackout blind to the property owners. We are very sorry that the housekeeper had forgotten to place a toilet roll in the property; there should always be a full roll per toilet, as a minimum, and there should have been at least 2 tea towels, so we really are sorry for that oversight. Thanks for letting us know so that we can follow up on that. Lucy, Customer Services

Perfect

Good location and well utilised property.

My friend and I stayed at By the Beach for a wonderful week in September. The tiny flat was cosy, comfortable and in a fantastic position with easy access to a local shop and all the facilities.

We found By The Beach beautifully clean and welcoming with some lovely artistic flourishes and features. It was comfortable and had all that we might possibly need. The location, so near to the beach, could not be bettered. We had a wonderful holiday in this fabulous property, thank you!

Great location. Good facilities. Suggest extractor fan fitted in bathroom to help ventilate this small space.

Very close to the beach

An excellent holiday in charming accommodation - very helpful and friendly staff at Aspect.

Lovely comfortable flat, although small. The beach is just round the corner which is brilliant.

If you're looking for a beach location, choose by the beach! Couldn't ask for anything more!

Close to the beach however only a glimpse of the sea can be seen through the windows and between buildings to the rear. So a view of the sea rather than a sea view. Flat is generally excellent and dog friendly. A lovely welcome pack of tea, scones, clotted cream, jam, coffee, sugar and milk.

Thanks for your comments. Glad to hear that you liked it there, and enjoyed its fantastic location, with Porthmeor beach quite literally just around the corner! Whilst you can see the sea through the kitchen window; it is a glimpse between a couple of buildings, so we have amended the description to make that a little clearer. Thank you again for your comments, and hope to see you back soon! Tanya, Customer Services

Excellent all round will definatley be back.. Well equipped house. Lovely welcome pack..

An enjoyable stay in this perfectly-named property, that has some great features to recommend it.

Wonderful location! A very relaxing part of St Ives with the beach beach literally in your doorstep. We would definitely recommend!

Great location. A comfy little flat but no parking - so you need to use town parking which is close by - but almost always full.

Well located and easy for everything you need for a fab time in St Ives!

A perfect holiday apartment that feels more like a cottage. Beautifully appointed, gorgeously comfortable and the beach just around the corner, it's a lovely place for a relaxing family holiday. We loved it and will definitely be back!

By The Beach is the perfect location for having a beach literally on your doorstep. You can pop back with the kids if they need the loo or if you want to grab a BBQ or a flask of tea. Lovely little touch of having the flask mugs. You may not be facing the beach directly but that doesn't matter because you're in the quiet little quaint street right next to it. You don't have to drive anywhere either because you have the whole of St Ives on your doorstep. And because of the location, you come across some great spots to eat. There's a super corner shop with just about everything you need, and I mean everything. Porthmeor beach is beautiful and so is the point where you can walk up and watch the sunset of an evening. Being a dog friendly property meant that myself, my husband, our 5 year old daughter and our mini sausage dog, could relax and have one of the best holidays ever. Thanks Aspect. It was a random lucky find but we'll be most definitely booking with you again.

We have had a most awesome time staying in By The Beach. The apartment has everything anybody could possibly need for a relaxing break. By the beach is quite literally the perfect name for the apartment. Lying in bed listening to the sea was the perfect tonic .
