This lovingly furnished two bedroom retreat is set in a rural location yet only a five minute drive into town, making it an ideal base for exploring St Ives. You can park the car, grab your towel and stroll to Porthminster beach in just 20 minutes. There are also really good bus links nearby. Garth Cottage is cosy, comfortable and private making it perfect for a romantic getaway, but it's also a great retreat for families who can make the most of the lovely garden and large balcony with sea glimpses.
Garth Cottage has the best of both worlds; a restful and peaceful location yet if you fancy whetting your whistle at a traditional pub you are actually just a short stroll from The Cornish Arms and, for your home provisions, Tescos is either a 15 minute walk away or a few minutes' drive. We had a great week at Garth Cottage. Found the setting quiet but easy access to St Ives. Very comfortable and fully equipped. The cottage didn’t feel like a holiday let. Everything we could wish for.

Mrs Dunham Sep 2020
A rather under-stated property, this hidden gem was a perfect base for a wonderfully relaxed week away. It suited us really well to be located away from the hustle and crowds of St Ives, but still be able to walk down if we fancied it. Lovely footpaths through the nature reserve on our doorstep, and we thoroughly exploring the many wonderful beaches and coastline away from the town. The cottage itself was equipped to a high standard, we had everything we needed for a great break. It was a luxury to have our Cornish Food Box delivery waiting for us when we arrived too. Thank you Aspects
Mrs Haydon Jul 2020
Fantastic cottage situated in a great location ideal for dog owners. The cottage drools with a feel of relaxation providing comfort in a rural surrounding feeling safe and secure. I have stayed in both Garth Cottage and Garth Annex of which I would recommend both depending on family size. Garth Cottage in particular has an added advantage of an upper sun deck and garden. Rather a steep 40 mins walk when returning on foot from St Ives but is pleasant never the less.
Mr Platt Oct 2019
Garth Cottage was a beautifully presented, light and very clean property. The upstairs balcony is a great feature, somewhere to relax with a coffee and read the paper. It has a secure garden and is close to a lovely dog walking area on the hillside and there are some great dog friendly beaches close by. St Ives is a 20 minute walk away which suited us as we could leave the car parked at the property. There is a large Tesco a short distance away, and a pleasant dog-friendly pub serving food a short walk away. We would definitely return.
Mrs Fisher Sep 2019
After staying the previous week in another St Ives property, with fabulous views over the harbour in St Ives, Garth Cottage was just as lovely, but in a different way. It was within a short walk of beautiful woodland and Knill Steeple. The lane that Garth Cottage is situated on is really quiet and peaceful and just lovely to walk along. It was good that we could leave the car parked outside the cottage. We could walk into any part of St Ives with ease, though the return walk certainly had the effect of upping my fitness levels!!! ( Uphill of course!) There are regular buses from the Malakoff and of course taxis - both would be a good option for those people who don’t want to exert themselves too much. I would definitely stay in Garth Cottage again.
Mrs Stevens Jun 2019
This is our second time staying at Garth cottage, the property was clean comfortable with everything you could possibly need for your stay here, the property is just out of St Ives town but within walking distance to town, beaches and restaurants etc . It’s an added bonus having parking and a lovely secluded & secure garden for both the dogs and ourselves, with a lovely big table and plenty of chairs for dining alfresco. We will definitely return
Mrs Bowen Apr 2019
A floor plan would be a great bonus

Beautifully decorated cottage, perfect size for our family of 5. Great location in a peaceful setting. Very well equipped.
Mrs Brooke Sep 2018
Fabulous cottage. Location is perfect for a peaceful and private time. The decoration and specification of the actual cottage is a very high standard and everything you may need is catered for. Excellent and the best dog friendly cottage we have stayed in.
Mrs North Jun 2018
A well maintained, simply decorated, clean property; spacious, relatively peaceful location - probably preferable that holiday makers are willing to do some up hill walking
Ms Rix May 2018
Loved the cottage and the surrounding area, location was spot on for beach or rural. Nice to have the option of a BBQ, perhaps health and safety is an issue !

Lovely cottage and location. Had a great holiday here!
Mrs Jewell Jul 2017
Aspect Holidays are a great company to deal with, they were helpful before, during and after our trip away and it was the same for every employee of Aspect holidays that we dealt with. I would very much recommend Aspect Holidays to others and will definately be using them again. Thank you so much for making our holiday so enjoyable. Garth cottage was a superb property to stay at, it was only a short walk to st Ives harbour and had the benefits of parking next to the property and also a generous garden to use. The property itself also was way above our expectations, it was very clean and also presented to a very high standard. When we return to st Ives we will most definately be looking at returning to Garth cottage. Thank you for contributing to such an incredible week, both company and property were superb!!
Mr Armstrong May 2017
The cottage was perfect from the location to everything supplied, this is why we came back this year it was a real find. We are going to be a little quicker in re booking in future as Christmas 2017 has already been taken. The owners have thought of everything to make our stay special. Thank you
Mrs Penney Dec 2016
Garth cottage is in a lovely area easy access to st ives and Carbis bay the property is superb
Mr Blakesley Sep 2016
Great location and ideal for dog owners, with miles of footpaths immediately accessible from the property and a relatively easy walk, off the main road, into St Ives. Dog-friendy all year round, Porth Kidney Sands is only a short drive away for sea and sand. If you want restful relaxation away from it all, this is the place to be.
Ms Burn-Smith Aug 2016
We have booked it again for next year and looking forward to returning. First time I have stayed in a property that had all we needed, it gave value for money and made the holiday easy. Very tastefully done and the sofa was great. Perfect location to walk to either St Ives or Carbis Bay, with dog walks near by. So many little touches including board games for the kids.
Mr Lavis Aug 2016
Excellent location, clean and very well equipped, couldnt have wished for more, helped make our holiday perfect.
Ms Richards May 2016
Garth is an excellent and high spec place to stay but is let down by a shared heating system. If this was to be addressed I would be rating it as first class but at this time I would not book again do to this issue.
Mr Hingley May 2016
Reply from Aspects Holidays
Thanks for your feedback. There is a shared system there, but temperature can be controlled by individual radiators, with all instructions available in the property. There had been a problem with 1 of the radiators affecting the system at this time, but this has since been resolved, and further feedback is being closely monitored on this. Thank you again for getting in touch. Tanya, Customer Services.
Beautiful , well equiped and clean cottage . Quiet location , easy access to St Ives and Hayle with some lovely walks on your doorstep
Mr Palmer Feb 2016
Fantastic, well equipped cottage in quiet location with wonderful views which was a joy to return to after a busy day out and about. We all agreed that the settee was possibly the most comfortable settee ever! The uninterrupted WiFi was an added bonus and kept the teenagers happy. For once we've found a self catering cottage that ticks all of our boxes.
