Chapel House is ideally located, in a quiet little cobbled street, yet only a few steps from the hustle and bustle of St Ives town, with its array of independent shops and restaurants. A stones throw from Porthmeor Beach and The Harbour Beach, makes this location perfect for those sunny days on the beach, or for wandering around the shops, followed by dinner in one of your favourite restaurants. Chapel House is a cosy cottage, that has been lovingly maintained, comfortably furnished, and has plenty of extra little touches to make your holiday special. The small outside, covered area has plenty of natural light, and is ideal for that morning coffee, or chilling in the afternoon and a woodburner, for those cosy winter nights in, makes for a perfect getaway, out of season. The décor is bright and cheerful, with abstract art adorning the walls by artist, PM Phillips, a member of the owners family.

Thank you for a lovely stay in the middle of St. Ives. Comfortable , practical, close to the beach and rail station. What more could you ask for in a sunny week in Cornwall

Immediately you’re hit by the quiet location: yard from the crazy of Fore Street, yet suddenly you’re in a peaceful, shady and private little courtyard. The cottage looks as gorgeous as the photos, and as you enter you’re welcomed by a spotlessly clean and tidy cottage which has retained all its original charm, yet is styled in a modern, tidy and considerate manner.

The entrance is bright and cheerful and provides a welcome space for body boards, brollies, coats and wet dogs! There’s a lovely little table and chairs, perfect for breakfast or morning coffee. The open plan lounge and kitchen are cosy yet spacious, and everything is available for a comfortable and easy stay, especially if you’re cooking your own meals. A welcome pack was also provided with fresh bread, butter, tea, coffee, milk sugar and snacks, a lovely touch from the property owners which was very gratefully received! The kitchen is very well appointed and sensibly laid out. Even dogs are catered for with blankets and food/water bowls!

Upstairs you have a good-sized bright and breezy bedroom with what look like original roof rafters (?) from Chapel House’s historic past. There’s an en suite bathroom with shower/bath and again, everything is spotless. We found the bed very comfortable and always had a great night’s sleep. A little torch is provided for those night-time bathroom visits!

The photos don’t do justice to the modern yet homely style and layout, where every inch of space is used to best effect. Make sure you bring a good selection of jazz to get the full experience!

Someone mentioned the lack of natural light and while this is true of the lounge/kitchen we were grateful for the tree shade in some very warm temperatures. The bedroom is bright though. There are a couple of low beams already mentioned, on the stairs and in the shower, but this is St Ives where everything is tiny! Signs and padding are provided to remind you to take care. Information about parking and unloading is given but note that Barnoon Long Stay is at the top of a very steep hill with some steps so consider your unloading and loading options carefully beforehand if you have any mobility issues.

All in all we agreed this is the nicest and most welcoming property we’ve stayed in, despite regular trips around the country, around Europe and around the US. We would happily stay here again and would have no problem recommending it to others.

Chapel House is a quaint and beautiful place to stay for a St Ives holiday. Just off the beaten track and bustle of Fore Street it is perfectly located for all that St Ives has to offer. Beautifully presented with everything you need, very cosy, like a home from home!! I’ve stayed at this property many times and would definitely book again.

The property was well located close to the harbour and shops, yet still quiet. Although small, the property was fine for two people. One problem was a strong odour of smelly dog at the property which didn't dissappear, this made returning to the property less enjoyable each day, sorry. Otherwise everything was clean and in good working order.

We were sorry to hear about that smell. We haven't had anything like this reported at Chapel House, both before or after your stay. This is of course not to dispute that there had been a smell at the time of your stay, but is just to reassure you that should you return, this isn't something that we would expect again. We will of course continue to monitor feedback though, so thanks for letting us know. If we are not informed, we will not be aware, and not know what to improve. We do hope that you still had a great time. Tanya, Customer Services

For a 2 person booking Chapel House fits the bill. Fully equipped kitchen and dining table and chairs. There is not a lot of room downstairs but a lot of properties in St Ives have this problem. The lean-to on the side of the house is ideal for somewhere to put all your coats, shoes, bags, etc. 2 minutes to Fore Street ( for shopaholics ! ) and another 2 minutes to the harbour so very well located. No noise can be heard at all in the house as it is behind the shops. Very easy to find at the bottom of The Digey. If you park in the Sloop car park it's only a short walk to carry your bags. Not a lot of natural light in the house but not a problem if you are out all day. Good value in an expensive resort.

Great place as is central but need a trolley for bringing your luggage to the cottage.

Nice cottage but with head height issues and access for unloading not good . However ideal spot for the town

We are glad that you liked this lovely cosy little cottage. The old traditional cottages here tend to have quite quirky features when compared to more modern homes, including lower ceiling heights, steeper, narrower stairs, unusual shaped rooms and layouts. We try to show these as best as we can on the website photos and often include additional information in the descriptions. We hope that the ceiling heights were therefore what you had expected from the photos included. We will continue to monitor for further feedback though. Due to the great location, right in the heart of the town, yet tucked away enough that you are away from all the main footfall, there isn't direct vehicular access to the property. That has huge advantages when it comes to making it a quieter location in the town but will involve a bit more of a walk with your luggage on arrival and departure days. We hope that you had a great holiday and hopefully we will see you back here in St Ives soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Completely satisfied with chapel house located is also great will book again soon in our happy place st ives

Chapel House is perfectly located for Harbour Beach and Porthmeor Beach, literally a minute’s walk! The house is hidden away and amazingly quiet - great night’s sleep. Extremely well thought out decor and great use of a small space. Perfect bolthole for 2 people, with the option of a comfy sofa bed also. Loved it ! X
