Have been coming to St Ives for near on 40 years and have stayed pretty much everywhere. We have booked through Aspects several times and always had good experiences in the properties we've stayed. That being said, I don't think we'll be staying at the Bakehouse Cottage again. We were quite disappointed with the cleanliness and general state of the property. In particular, there is a damp problem in the property (which is expected to an extent in old buildings like this), but due to the general disrepair of the windows is exasperated. Blinds and curtains have therefore suffered mould damage.
Aspects were great in dealing with what issues they could, but believe the property is in need of an update throughout.
Despite these issues, we enjoyed our week away. Property aside, St Ives always delivers a chilled break away from home.

We were really sorry to hear that things weren't 100% for you and thank you so much for letting us know. We would just like to reassure you that there isn't an ongoing damp problem. The mould that you highlighted was on the window frames and blinds, caused by condensation/temperature changes, and has since been cleaned off. We are sorry that it had been left to build up like that. It should have been wiped down regularly so that it didn't get to that point. Your feedback was passed on to the property owner and their housekeeper and we will keep a close eye on any further feedback. Tanya, Customer Services

3rd time at bakehouse cottage great position close to the harbour, shops beaches, car parks, restaurants, even alfie the dog likes it at this cottage we will be back 2024, thanks again aspects. Mark,Lynne & alfie.

Wonderful little house, perfect location, so close to all the beaches, shops and more importantly bakeries!

Extremely cosy and comfortable, but spacious enough for our family of four (plus baby).

We had a little blip with our electrics on our first day, but aspects dealt with this promptly (it was fixed while we were out at the beach for the day) and it did not affect our holiday in any way. Great communication at all times, extremely helpful and attentive staff who go above and beyond!

3rd time booking with aspects and will definitely book again and recommend!

Many thanks from one very happy family!

The location is perfect for the beaches and for going into town, the bathroom is nice and big and the shower was lovely. Wouldn’t say there was enough seating in the living room for 4 but there was only 3 of us so that was ok for us. It did feel like the furnishings were a bit tired and could do with a spruce up, a few stains on the carpets and things.

We are pleased that you enjoyed the great location of Bakehouse Cottage, having everything St Ives has to offer right on your doorstep is certainly an advantage. A large number of properties within the heart of St Ives are traditional fisherman cottages. They are packed full of character inside and out, but often a little smaller with quirkier layouts than more modern buildings. We try to accurately display the seating arrangements in the property photos and descriptions, so hopefully this is what you were expecting. Thank you for your feedback regarding the carpets and furnishings, after a busy year of lettings some general wear and tear is to be expected, but we will work with the owner on getting these things rectified following the annual inspection of the property. Katy, Customer Services.

The bakehouse is a lovely little place in the heart of St Ives. For us, the location is exceptional. It is great for the harbour, Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beach. It is perfect for couples or small families. It has enough space for what you need for a short holiday. Not for larger families or those that have lots of stuff.

The 'balcony' was not great, it over looked a car park at the back. But most of all it was dirty, the seating on there was filth and not fit for purpose. Clearly it have been left from Winter and not cleaned in preparation for the spring/summer season. That said, the rest of the property was great.

I would definitively recommend if you are looking for a centrally located small place to stay. It has everything you need, is clean and in a great place.

Thanks for your feedback, though we were sorry to hear that the balcony was not in the condition that you would expect. Unfortunately, there are quite a few seagulls around there which can make a bit of a mess, though this is usually attended to regularly. We will feed this back to the owner. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. In terms of the space for larger families; with a double bedroom and a bunk bedroom, there is space to sleep 4, though the seating arrangements and space in the living room and kitchen may not work for all parties of 4, but we try to show this as clearly as possible in the website photos so that customers can make an informed decision on whether this will suit them, so we do hope that this was what you had expected. It certainly sounds like this property and fantastic location worked well for you though. Tanya Customer Services

It was our second stay in this lovely cosy cottage ! Location is perfect .Was lovely to have a bath in the property as well as the lovely shower ! The central heating made it really toasty and warm and the washing machine is an added bonus . Very well equipped & very spacious for just the two of us .Will definitely be back again !

Thanks aspects ideal place, close to everything, harbour, car park, sloop & the beach for Alfie our dog. Mark, lynne & Alfie the staffie.

We had a lovely stay at Bakehouse cottage. The location was perfect - just around the corner from 3 fabulous beaches, with all of the amenities of the town on your door step. The cottage itself was lovely and cosy, and the high ceilings meant it didn’t feel too cramped. We managed to fit 2 teenagers into the bunks and whilst space upstairs was tight, it was adequate for the four of us.

Lovely cottage , great location we were able to unload at the cottage before parking in the very nearby island car park which also has great dog walking facilities . The cottage is literally a stones throw from the harbour , town & restaurants .The cottage was clean on arrival nicely decorated and homely although could do with some kind of heater in the lounge in the winter months , would definitely stay here again

It's great to hear that you enjoyed the homely and comfortable feel of Bakehouse Cottage, being right in the heart of St Ives means everything the town has to offer is right on your doorstep! We haven't heard of it being too cold in this property before, so we are sorry if this was the case, and we will continue to monitor for any further feedback on this. We have been experiencing very cold temperatures lately but there is a large radiator situated in the lounge to keep you nice and toasty when you need it. Katy, Customer Services.

Lovely cottage close to harbour, beaches & island car park. So easy to unload the car without blocking the street. My wife me & alfie the dog found this property A1. If you do stay for a week & you have a car its worth getting a weeks rover ticket from Cornwall Council, its £49-24 for the week and you can park the longstay car parks around Cornwall & you don't have to keep going to the machines.

We love St Ives and have been coming here for over 50 years. The cottage was lovely in a prime location just perfect for us.

Really enjoyed stay. Was lovely cottage and well positioned for loading + fantastic location. Great that owner provided essentials Tea Coffee Milk Tea Towels etc. Would definately use cottage again.

Bakehouse Cottage was fantastic! The location could not have been better with both the beaches and the town centre only very short walks away. Despite this the cottage was quiet and Peaceful. There was more space in the property than we had expected and plenty of room for two adults and two small children. The key access was really easy and made for a simple arrival and departure. We would definitely book Bakehouse again.

We had a great holiday at Bakehouse Cottage. Excellent location for beaches and the town. Cottage lovely and clean and everything you need for a wonderful holiday would definitely go back to Bakehouse Cottage.

Brilliant property in an amazing location for the town , beach and long stay parking . We loved St. Ives with great food and amenities. The weather was amazing, beautiful beaches with quaint little cobbled streets. We celebrated a family wedding here and it made it very special . Can't wait for a return trip .

This cottage was amazing! Our 2nd time staying here, it’s so perfect for a week away, amazing location and could not find any faults at all, would definitely recommend

charming cottage in perfect location, did not need to use our car at all, amenities right on the doorstep. Very good that we could unload our car outside the property as roads are so tiny. Interior beautifully decorated with many thoughtful touches. Brand new kitchen & bathroom. Furniture and decor extremely delightful. Ideal for two adults and a small dog. Local shop supplied good quality food and wine. Perfect for art lovers and potters. Cannot wait to go back!

Lovely cottage, centrally located, very clean and extremely comfortable.

Bakehouse Cottage has a lovely happy and relaxed feeling. We loved all of the personal touches likes the unique art work, lovely snuggle blankets and beautiful furniture.
