Avalon is a wonderful three storey cottage superbly located in a quiet, yet central location in Downalong, within walking distance of the harbour, beaches, coast path and much more. Porthgwidden Beach is only a two minute walk away, so could even be classed as your back garden! For the more adventurous guests, you could take the plunge with a morning dip to blow away the cobwebs and set you up for a day of exploring. Tastefully furnished with a light and airy feel, great care has been taken by the owners, to create a stylish and comfortable coastal retreat, for family or friends at any time of year.

Avalon has a particularly attractive and good sized kitchen/dining area, which is great for family get togethers.

gas central heating, travel cot supplied (please bring own linen for this). Please note the stairs in the property are steep, WiFi, one small dog accepted, short breaks available.

 

Good position. 2 bathrooms is very good as is 2 tvs. Very nicely decorated well stocked kitchen.

Downalong

Situated between Porthmeor Beach and the harbour, where fishermen still land a daily catch, holiday cottages in this area are ideally situated for those guests who want to stay right in the heart of the town within seconds of all St Ives has to offer. The cottages, most of which still retain much of their original character and features, have been updated to accommodate modern day living and offer a home from home whilst giving a true feeling of the real St Ives. Local events

St Ives Feast Day

Held on the anniversary of the consecration of the Parish Church of St Eia in 1434 AD, Feast Day offers visitors to witness - and even join in with - some centuries-old traditions. A morning precesison led by the Mayor to bless the Well of St Eia. Following this, the Mayor will 'Hurls the Silver Ball' into a crowd of children who assemble on the beach below. The one who returns the ball to the Guildhall steps by midday receives a silver coin. In the afternoon the Mayor then throw pennies from the balcony of the Guildhall for children to collect.
