What a fantastic location for a cottage - perfect for the beach, local cafes and for anyone using the bus it's ideally placed for public transport. With good weather you probably won't end up spending much time in the cottage!

Wonderful views from the main bedroom, comfortable lounge, fairly decent shower with plenty of hot water.

June 2023

We had a lovely week at this property, it was in a great location and easy access to the beach. The only negative was that the property didn’t have wifi. The views of the sea from this property was amazing.

Holidays in Sennen

Sennen is one of the most beautiful, unspoilt areas of Cornwall, famous for its unique location and beauty. Sennen is one of Cornwall's most popular surf spots, and its rugged scenery and many coves provide the perfect place to explore on a self catering holiday.

Sennen is the most westerly parish in the UK, nestled between Cape Cornwall and Land's End. Part of the village; the mediaeval church of St. Sennen with its low granite tower, the school, and the First & Last Inn are at the top of the cliff; with some older cottages 300 feet below by the quay, along with the Old Success, a seventeenth-century inn.

Sennen Cove is still a fishing village and home of Sennen Lifeboat. Established in 1853, The Royal National Lifeboat Institution`s Sennen Cove Station is situated just one mile northeast of Land’s End.

If you want to spot a bit of wildlife during your holiday in Sennen, basking sharks and dolphins are a common sight off the coast of Sennen. Join our friends in the water and head to Sennen Cove which is renowned for its great surf and friendly atmosphere. Or take a drive to Gwenver Beach, less than a mile from Sennen Cove and watch the sunset - a truly spectacular sight. Read more about Sennen holidays and Gwenver beach on our blog post about Sandy beaches in West Cornwall.

Top tip

Spend the festive season in Sennen and take part in the annual Christmas day swim!

Surfing in Sennen

Sennen is a prime location for surfing in Cornwall. With swell coming in from the Atlantic, the surf is good all year round and can be better than the more crowded surfing destinations such as Newquay. With two surf schools based at Sennen you'll be in good hands when it comes to learning the ropes.

Beach & coastal walks

Take a walk along the coast from Land's End to the beautiful and hidden Nanjizel beach; one of Cornwall's most spectacular beaches. Porthcurno is also only a short drive away with its beautiful beaches and the breathtaking Minack Theatre, showing regular outdoor performances throughout the summer months.

South from Sennen Cove you can walk the coastal path to Land’s End. Just over a mile as the chough flies, but all along the south-west coastal path you must allow for the uphill stretches and twisty bits of headland which make the walks longer.

Whitesand Bay, white as the name suggests, stretches northwards from Sennen Cove to Gwynver beach. Gwynver is accessible from Whitesand at low tide; and down steep steps from Trevedra Cliff at high tide. On New Year’s Day it’s become a bit of a tradition for hardy folk to jump into the Whitesand waves for a swim. The south-west coastal footpath runs along Whitesand behind the dunes. No dogs are allowed on the beach between 15th May and the 30th September, between 10am and 6pm.

Although it feels tucked away in the far west, Sennen self catering holidays are perfect for exploring West Penwith.

Things to do near Sennen

Roundhouse & Capstan Gallery
A unique circular gallery and converted netloft. It was originally used for housing a winch to haul boats up from the beach. Visit www.round-house.co.uk for more info.

Longships Lighthouse
The iconic Longships Lighthouse sits on Carn Bras, the biggest in a ribbon of jagged rocks just offshore. It appears curiously tall when seen from the road approaching Land's End. Just for a moment Longships seems to have landed at the holiday complex but it's all an illusion of topography. The galleon and helicopter might be set in cement in Land’s End square but the lighthouse is exactly where it should be, a mile off shore.

Land’s End:
Sennen Church is about a mile from the Land’s End Visitor Centre, where you can find Land’s End Hotel & restaurant, First & Last House, shops, cafe, exhibitions. It is famed for the signpost, at which you can have your photograph taken as one arm says Land’ End and the other your home town. There are weekly firework displays, special events and family entertainment. The best approach to the complex is via the coastal path, the sea views are magnificent. On an overcast day the visitor centre has much to occupy children.

Apple Tree Café, Trevescan
When self catering in Sennen, a place not to be missed is The Apple Tree Café at Trevescan, a left turn just before Land’s End. Home of Nick’s delicious home-made bread. It’s family friendly, amazing cakes, tea garden. A perfect place to meet before walking or after walking or probably before and after.

From the Apple Tree Cafe, you can walk into Land’s End; you can walk across the fields to the coastal path. All you need is the O/S Pathfinder or O/S Explorer 7 (Land’s End, Penzance and St Ives). If you can find one, get a copy of a book called ‘West of HayleRiver’ by Gerald and Sylvia Priestland. It is brim-full of walks, pictures and information about places and legends across the whole of West Penwith.

Farmers' Market
Every Tuesday, Sennen holds its very own farmers' market, perfect for stocking up on local produce when staying in a self catering cottage. Find out more on our blog: The Best Farmers’ Markets in West Cornwall

Stayed at sea spray sennen cove 13-20 august 2022 was very disappointed with property the cleanliness of bedrooms was discusting dust everywhere.the mattress on ground floor bedroom was very uncomfortable was very cheap mattress and should be a good quality mattress with what we people pay to stay there.definitely wouldn’t stop there again

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are very sorry if the standard of cleanliness was not to the usual high level that you would have expected from the properties that we market; we can only apologise if any areas had been missed. We are sure that you can appreciate that having not had the opportunity to assess and rectify any of this for you at the time, makes it quite difficult to understand what it was like and follow up in the best way with that owners housekeeper, but please rest assured that we have had a discussion with them about it and we will closely monitor the feedback going forward, and carry out a check if there are any further concerns. We will also monitor for further feedback on the mattress and check it on our next inspection as these can be very difficult to get right for every guest, with everyone's preferences on mattresses being different. Thank you for letting us know and we are sorry again for any disappointment. Tanya, Customer Services

Cracking location. Parking was ok to fit a VW camper with no issue at all. Great little spot to watch sunset over a wine. Nice pub up road but book beforehand.

Bed downstairs is a tadge small and not very comfy for a 6ft man. But I’ll forgive it for short holiday and the views from top floor bedroom! Location is the big win here!!

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your comments. It is a shame to hear that you struggled with the bed size in the bedroom downstairs. Currently it is advertised as just a standard double and we try to clearly show the footboard on the website, as we appreciate that this may not suit taller guests. If you are used to a larger size bed at home, these may understandably seem quite small, but we do hope that this was what you had expected. It certainly sounds like the property still worked well for your requirements though. It really is ideal for being able to make the most out of that fantastic location. Thank you again for your helpful comments. Tanya, Customer Services

My family and I stayed at Seaspray over the Christmas period. It’s in a great location for exploring Sennen Cove and the wider area. Within walking distance of the coastal path.. The property itself is very comfortable and is laid out well. Although it sleeps 5, with one bathroom, and a small dining table that sits 4 it might be a squash but for the three of us it was perfect!

We had a great week staying here.Perfect location near the beach and great base for walking the coastal path.Parking space also a bonus.

Good value property in central position in Sennen Cove, clean property well equipped

Holiday let is excellent and in very good location. Have already booked for next year.

Good location, fantastic views, and a golden parking space. Sennen Cove beach to be recommended. Property a little tired but overall a fantastic holiday as have the last 3 times we have stayed at this property and we have already booked for next year.

Seaspray has a truly wonderful location. We loved Sennen and the beach is amazing. The property’s heating system is good and there was plenty of hot water for showers and baths. There is an outside tap and hose which was handy for cleaning surfboards. Aside from some kitchen equipment the property had everything we needed. As a family of four we just about managed to eat around the dining table but it is a squeeze. Bear this in mind if you plan to self cater every night. We had some cleanliness issues when we arrived which I’m sure Aspects will be rectifying this for future guests.

We were so sorry to hear this. We would always expect that guests arrive to their chosen property to find that it has been cleaned to a very high standard, but if that was not the case, we would always do everything possible to put that right for you. We can only apologise if any areas had been missed and please rest assured that this was followed up with the cleaner. Thank you for your comments. Tanya, Customer Services

Seaspray continues to be our home away from home. We've been visiting for years, and will continue to do so. The location was perfect to watch the storms during our stay. It remains perfect for summer stays and winter indulgences. We will definitely be back.

The property was lovely and clean and the upstairs bedroom is perfect, in wet or windy weather you can sit at the windows and watch the sea and people watch, ideal to pass an hour whilst having a coffee.

Lovely comfortable cottage

This is the most brilliant location. From the house you look out directly on to the sea so no worrying about rushing down to find a space to park your car in the morning. We chose to jump from the harbour wall in the morning (high tide) and then enjoyed the beach in the afternoon. There is room outside to hang wetsuits which is very useful. We took a kayak and also hired a paddleboard. The coast path is only minutes away. If you park your car well then there is room to have a few deckchairs outside to watch the sunset and enjoy a drink or two. The pub is a few minutes away or you can get a breakfast bap at Little Bo Cafe - maybe a minute's walk and if you want Fish and Chips well that is even nearer! Only downside is the downstairs double has no view but the upstairs room which has a double and a single is lovely with amazing views. Also at the moment only 3 can fit around the table but this could easily be rectified with some planning.

Two weeks of fantastic holiday at the start of Covid 19 restrictions being lifted. Advice and management from Aspects staff prompt, well informed and we felt very confident to holiday. Property cleanliness excellent. Would recommend taking own food and drinks as limited menu to eat out and queuing a big problem due to limited space in bars and cafes. Also will avoid queuing in local stores. Sadly another Cornwall holiday comes to an end but will be back next year.

Superb location, cosy lounge, lovely spacious upstairs bedroom looking out to sea. We all really liked the place and had a wonderful week. Would definitely return and recommend . We are a family of four with two kids under 12. May be a bit small for families with older children.

I stayed at Sea Spray last week with my husband. The cottage and its position on the sea front are beautiful. The fact that it has a parking space is a great benefit. Sennen Cove itself is stunning and the fact that you can just walk out of the front door along the road to access the beach and eating places is amazing. The food at the Little Bo Cafe was excellent and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The only thing that would stop me from booking this property again is the lack of cleanliness and the fact that bedding and towels were very tired looking. Shower was poor with very little power.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your review; it is great to hear how much you enjoyed beautiful Sennen. You certainly get to enjoy a great spot there, right on the sea front and a stroll to shops and a couple of restaurants. We were sorry to hear though, that the standard of cleanliness on this occasion, did not meet the high levels that you would expect, and that you found the bedding and towels to look tired. We can only apologise if any areas had been missed. Having now received this feedback, we have fed this back to the housekeeper and will be closely monitoring this, as well as your comment on the shower, so thank you for your helpful comments. Tanya, Customer Services

Have just spent a glorious week at Seaspray, Sennen Cove. The property is very comfortable, practically home from home. The location of the property directly across the road from Sennen Cove beach is heavenly and we would strongly recommend it to all sea lovers.

Beautiful cottage stunning location. Perfect family getaway.

Stunning views. The best sunsets viewed from upstairs. Having your own parking space is a definite plus when the cove is busy.

A great cottage in a wonderful location on the seafront. I would recommend it with no hesitation.

Amazing location, had a wonderful 2 week beach holiday.

Lovely location - very comfortable but needs more heating for winter use

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Whilst electric and storage heaters are not as quick to adjust to your desired temperature, we haven't heard of it being too cold in this property before, so we are sorry if that was the case and we will continue to monitor for any further feedback on this. Looking into our notes it sounds as though the electric fire in the front room was out of use at the time of your stay, which may have had an impact upon this. We are sorry if this caused any disappointment but hope that you still had a great stay. Tanya, Customer Service

Wonderful views of the sea from the first floor. Very comfortable lounge and nice bathroom. But not suitable for five.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

With its 2 bedrooms, including 2 double beds and a single bed, to sleep 5, the owners have tried to offer flexible sleeping arrangements for guests, and whilst it can sleep 5, the amount of seating and space in the living area and around the dining table may not work for all parties of 5. For many though, this property is a really popular choice and a favourite to return to, with its amazing location, views and convenience far outweighing the compromise of space. We have tried to show the space and seating/sleeping arrangements as clearly as we can within the website photos and description, so we do hope that this was all as you had expected. Thank you for taking the time to send in your comments and we hope that you enjoyed your time here. Tanya, Customer Services.

The property is comfortable and welcoming and well located to take full advantage of the views of Sennen Cove and Cape Cornwall. With close proximity to the beach and the beautiful coastal walks it is an ideal spot for us.

Comfortable property well located for surrounding attractions and coastal path with excellent sea view

Seaspray has fantastic views, lying in bed watching the waves is unbelievable. The views sat looking out to sea on the comfortable chairs in the upstairs seating area are totally mesmerising and cannot be bettered anywhere, the big problem is having to leave it all and go home!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Loved sitting in top bedroom looking at the sea. So convenient for pub, shop etc Sad to leave

Sea spray is a delightful little cottage in the most fabulous location right in the heart of Sennen Cove and only a few steps to to glorious Whitesands Bay. The spacious airy upper floor offers endless opportunity to watch the ever changing sea and the cosy ground floor lounge offered us the chance to snuggle up with a DVD as the rain lashed the windows, in the knowledge that the cafe and shop were steps away if needed! Well equipped kitchen, extremely friendly and helpful company to deal with. Thank you Aspects! We'll be back!

Ideal getaway in a beautiful location
