Breathtaking views await you through large picture windows that make up the entire seaward side of the open plan living space at Far West. This captivating property sits in a commanding elevated position on the cliff above Sennen Cove. There is ample accommodation, sleeping up to six guests in three en suite bedrooms, with a gorgeous open plan sitting room, complete with cosy woodburner, the perfect spot for storm watching on one of Cornwall's wilder days, Far West really is perfect for larger families or couples at any time of year. The patio area chases the sun from sunrise to sunset, so is the ideal spot for al fresco breakfasts complete with fresh coffee and hot Cornish buttered crumpets or evenings with glasses of bubbles and entertainment under the stars.

Sennen Cove is a short walk down a steep hill, with a mile and a half of golden sands where nature sets the pace. In summer, turquoise seas and white sands tempt guests onto Sennen Beach. In winter, the woodburner crackles and the Atlantic Ocean roars, setting the scene for dramatic storm-watching sessions. With Lands End, Porthcurno and the world famous Minack Theatre just around the corner, Sennen Cove is the perfect base to explore West Cornwall. Whether looking for a bucket and spade holiday by the sea, or a writer's bolthole to let your imagination run as wild as the weather, Far West really is perfect for larger families or couples at any time of year.

Holidays in Sennen

Sennen is one of the most beautiful, unspoilt areas of Cornwall, famous for its unique location and beauty. Sennen is one of Cornwall's most popular surf spots, and its rugged scenery and many coves provide the perfect place to explore on a self catering holiday.

Sennen is the most westerly parish in the UK, nestled between Cape Cornwall and Land's End. Part of the village; the mediaeval church of St. Sennen with its low granite tower, the school, and the First & Last Inn are at the top of the cliff; with some older cottages 300 feet below by the quay, along with the Old Success, a seventeenth-century inn.

Sennen Cove is still a fishing village and home of Sennen Lifeboat. Established in 1853, The Royal National Lifeboat Institution`s Sennen Cove Station is situated just one mile northeast of Land’s End.

If you want to spot a bit of wildlife during your holiday in Sennen, basking sharks and dolphins are a common sight off the coast of Sennen. Join our friends in the water and head to Sennen Cove which is renowned for its great surf and friendly atmosphere. Or take a drive to Gwenver Beach, less than a mile from Sennen Cove and watch the sunset - a truly spectacular sight. Read more about Sennen holidays and Gwenver beach on our blog post about Sandy beaches in West Cornwall.

Top tip

Spend the festive season in Sennen and take part in the annual Christmas day swim!

Surfing in Sennen

Sennen is a prime location for surfing in Cornwall. With swell coming in from the Atlantic, the surf is good all year round and can be better than the more crowded surfing destinations such as Newquay. With two surf schools based at Sennen you'll be in good hands when it comes to learning the ropes.

Beach & coastal walks

Take a walk along the coast from Land's End to the beautiful and hidden Nanjizel beach; one of Cornwall's most spectacular beaches. Porthcurno is also only a short drive away with its beautiful beaches and the breathtaking Minack Theatre, showing regular outdoor performances throughout the summer months.

South from Sennen Cove you can walk the coastal path to Land’s End. Just over a mile as the chough flies, but all along the south-west coastal path you must allow for the uphill stretches and twisty bits of headland which make the walks longer.

Whitesand Bay, white as the name suggests, stretches northwards from Sennen Cove to Gwynver beach. Gwynver is accessible from Whitesand at low tide; and down steep steps from Trevedra Cliff at high tide. On New Year’s Day it’s become a bit of a tradition for hardy folk to jump into the Whitesand waves for a swim. The south-west coastal footpath runs along Whitesand behind the dunes. No dogs are allowed on the beach between 15th May and the 30th September, between 10am and 6pm.

Although it feels tucked away in the far west, Sennen self catering holidays are perfect for exploring West Penwith.

Things to do near Sennen

Roundhouse & Capstan Gallery
A unique circular gallery and converted netloft. It was originally used for housing a winch to haul boats up from the beach. Visit www.round-house.co.uk for more info.

Longships Lighthouse
The iconic Longships Lighthouse sits on Carn Bras, the biggest in a ribbon of jagged rocks just offshore. It appears curiously tall when seen from the road approaching Land's End. Just for a moment Longships seems to have landed at the holiday complex but it's all an illusion of topography. The galleon and helicopter might be set in cement in Land’s End square but the lighthouse is exactly where it should be, a mile off shore.

Land’s End:
Sennen Church is about a mile from the Land’s End Visitor Centre, where you can find Land’s End Hotel & restaurant, First & Last House, shops, cafe, exhibitions. It is famed for the signpost, at which you can have your photograph taken as one arm says Land’ End and the other your home town. There are weekly firework displays, special events and family entertainment. The best approach to the complex is via the coastal path, the sea views are magnificent. On an overcast day the visitor centre has much to occupy children.

Apple Tree Café, Trevescan
When self catering in Sennen, a place not to be missed is The Apple Tree Café at Trevescan, a left turn just before Land’s End. Home of Nick’s delicious home-made bread. It’s family friendly, amazing cakes, tea garden. A perfect place to meet before walking or after walking or probably before and after.

From the Apple Tree Cafe, you can walk into Land’s End; you can walk across the fields to the coastal path. All you need is the O/S Pathfinder or O/S Explorer 7 (Land’s End, Penzance and St Ives). If you can find one, get a copy of a book called ‘West of HayleRiver’ by Gerald and Sylvia Priestland. It is brim-full of walks, pictures and information about places and legends across the whole of West Penwith.

Farmers' Market
Every Tuesday, Sennen holds its very own farmers' market, perfect for stocking up on local produce when staying in a self catering cottage. Find out more on our blog: The Best Farmers’ Markets in West Cornwall

Our second visit to Far West. Sennen Cove is one of our favourite places and we love to stay on Maria's Lane as the views are amazing. Far West is very clean, comfortable and cosy. We had a wonderful week at Far West, The property is clean and comfortable with a great view across the Cove, Equipped with everything one would need, Loved having a garage for the car. Many thanks for the team at Aspects Holidays for arranging our holiday at such short notice. Will be certainly re booking in the spring. Many Thanks Phillip & Elizabeth Williams.

A wonderful , comfortable property. We have stayed in various properties throughout West Penwith over the years ( having had to move away from Cornwall ) and Far West is definitely the best. The view is unsurpassed no matter the weather - even on a dull, sea mist/ foggy day it is fascinating to watch the ever changing view. The bungalow is beautifully appointed with really good quality furnishings. We really appreciated having an en suite to each bedroom and the beds were very comfortable. The outside area was well provided with patio furniture and cushioning. There are several footpaths either down to the beach/harbour or along the cycle path just up from the property that is an easy walk to Lands End , about a mile or so, being on the flat. All in all a fabulous place to stay and we hope to be back soon

Stunning location with beautiful views over Sennen Cove and Gwenver from the living room and kitchen. The house is beautifully presented, the sofa and the beds were all very comfortable, and the house was practical in layout and equipment and perfect for our needs as surfers and rock climbers. We will stay again.

Our second time staying at Far West and again it didn’t disappoint. A beautiful house with amazing sea views. The house is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. It has a pretty patio area which is very sheltered and comfortable spot to relax or have a bbq. It is also only a few minutes walk downhill to the harbour and the beach. We’ve already booked again for next year.

Our second trip to Far West and again didn’t disappoint. It is a beautiful property which is well equipped and spotlessly clean. We love the sea view and the patio area is lovely.

Fabulous accommodation in a stunning location. Well equipped and surprisingly spacious. Loved the storage space in the garage too.

Immaculate property in a fantastic location. Tastefully decorated with everything you need & we had a very comfortable stay. The walk to the beach is less than 10 minutes, beautiful scenery but can be a bit steep on the way back! We’ve booked to come back already.

Lovely modern holiday home, 3 ensuite bathrooms with excellent water pressure. Good for parking as on a level so no steps which is rare on Maria's Lane. Great view of the Cove. Very warm and cosy for a winter holiday, would definately stay again

What an amazing place in which to stay! With what we feel are some of the best views in England, this beautifully decorated and organised cottage provided a perfect home for our Christmas and New Year break. We were greeted with a Christmas hamper filled with treats, tasteful Christmas decorations and Christmas table mats. It was obvious that everything in the home had been meticulously planned to a very high standard from the sofa, beds, bed linen, tableware, decorations, paintings and accessories. The layout of the house was perfect with excellent en-suite shower facilities and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space in each bedroom. The panoramic view from the living room window allowed us to see the full magnificence of the Cornish coastline which we could enjoy in good weather and bad along with beautiful sunrises, sunsets and rainbows. We had everything we could wish for and more to make for a perfect holiday. Thank you so much!

Really wonderful place to stay, great views, facilities really good .

Far West is a wonderful holiday home perched above the sea at Sennen Cove. The views are stunning and we enjoyed sitting in front of the main window in the lounge on several occasions and whatever the weather. It is a very comfortable house, lovely beds and seating area, very hot showers and very well equipped with everything you could need. The walk down to the beach and waterfront is very steep so we took the car down and parked with no problem. The RNLI station is definitely worth a visit especially to meet Piran the rescue dog and the open top bus was really good fun and good value for getting around. Penzance is a short drive away and has several supermarkets for your holiday groceries. For me personally, waking up to to the sound of the sea every morning made this holiday perfect.

The quality of this beautiful property surpassed our expectations, immaculately clean with stylish decor. The views from the windows are breathtaking, or you can watch the sunset from the end of Marias Lane. If you cut down Stone Chair Lane you can walk down to the lovely seafront within minutes. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Far West to family and friends.

This was a beautifully appointed apartment in a quiet location with easy access to Sennen Cove via a steep footpath. It was spotless and everything from the organisation of the kitchen and the equipment supplied to the blackout blinds and extra batteries for your touch has been thought of. Lots of local information thank you, our favourite was walking to the convenience store across two fields. One of the best places we have stayed with lovely views across the sea. Lovely comfortable outside area and great quality linen. All the little things that makes for a great holiday.

Amazing property in fantastic location. Very well equipped and to a very high standard. Loved the telescope and binoculars. Views are fantastic. Would highly recommend this property and would love to go back. Always found Aspects Holidays very efficient and helpful. Thank you

A lovely well presented property with amazing sea views. We had a very comfortable stay at Far West and have re-booked for next year.

Far west is a clean, modern styled apartment. It has tremendous sea views from inside the house and a very attractive style courtyard although sadly there are no views from the courtyard. It is well equipped and furnished well. There is parking outside the property for two cars- we have a Vauxhall Zafira and a BMW X1- it took a little bit of careful manoeuvring to get them both in. The garage was available to us but neither car fitted in comfortably so I would suggest suitable for a smaller car. We liked the property very much for ourselves, having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was perfect and being all on one level suited my 82 year old mother- however she struggled with the seating. The low, deep modern corner sofa and matching chair may be too low and deep for older guests.

Thank you for your helpful comments and we are glad that you enjoyed your time at this lovely property. Those views are spectacular, aren't they? Any property that we market with parking, is based on being suitable for a medium sized car (similar to a VW golf size), so it is always best to check with the team first, before booking, if you have anything larger. We will try to get parking space measurements added on to the website though, to help ensure that anyone booking this property in future, will be aware of what they can fit in the parking space and garage. Thanks again. Tanya, Customer Services

A first-class holiday let which does not disappoint. Well furnished and tastefully decorated. Clean and comfortable. Fantastic view. We had an amazing week there and would go back in the blink of an eye.

Spotless, clean and the perfect place to relax and recharge

Far West was a stunning property with amazing views of Sennen Cove. There is a steep walk to and from the beach, but its well worth it for the views. The apartment was lovely and clean and the towels and linen were lush. It was a lovely surprise to see the kayak in the garage for guests use, it was a shame that we couldn't use it due to choppy seas. If you want a peaceful holiday with great walks nearby, this is the perfect place. There are two convenience stores withing ten mins walk and a lovely pub 15 mins walk. The beach is also 15 mins walk. Ots a lovely coastal walk to Lands End too, which takes about 45 mins each way.

Far West has stunning views across the Sennen Bay. The accommodation is modern, comfortable and relaxing. Tastefully decorated to create a peaceful ocean side retreat. I would highly recommend a stay here. Access is not easy on foot hence a car advised for the less able. For the walks a steep hike up the road from Sennen will keep you fit. Aspects were efficient with excellent communications.

Far West is an amazing place to stay with unbeatable views.

Very grateful to the flexibility given to us by Aspects when a flat car battery meant we were unable to leave at the checking out time. Thanks!

Had another great week in Sennen, Far West is an excellent apartment, the views looking down the beach, coastline and out to sea are very memorable. Highlights which made our week so relaxing were the wood burner with unlimited supply of wood and kindling. The well equipped kitchen which made eating in very easy. Secure storage in the garage for our bikes. The apartment is well positioned for great walking and cycling from the front door.

We have just returned from Far West and it exceeded our expectations. What a stunning place. The view from all 5 windows in lounge are amazing , spent ages just sitting watching the waves and surfers . The place was spotlessly clean . Such a comfortable place to stay especially if the weathers not great.A very informative welcome book on places to go/eat was really helpful . Beds super comfy and very powerful showers. Everything is of highest quality .A few minutes from property coastal path a mile to Lands end lovely walk and other way are 2 footpaths one to beach about 10 mins (very steep on way back ) and another lovely walk to village shop. Very nice pub to eat in on sea front too. We have stayed at lots of self catering but this was the best , very sad to leave but hope to come back one day.

A beautiful property with amazing view over Sennen Cove. The property was as clean as a new pin with little extras to make our stay memorable. We have been staying in Sennen Cove for the past 35years, this property was by far the best. A very homely, comfortable and well equipped property. What a way to spend our Ruby Wedding with our family. Would I recommend this property without a doubt, anyone staying will be in for a treat. Thank-you from our family. Barbara Whiteside

We have stayed in Sennen Cove for many years and this was our first stay at Far West and it didn’t disappoint. A beautiful house, tastefully decorated, comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We loved sitting enjoying the sea views from most of the windows and the patio was a cozy sun trap to relax in. We will definitely be back. Thank you ?? ??

Far West is one of the best self catering accommodations we have stayed in. It is extremely comfortable, very well equipped and has lots of extra touches including a telescope, binoculars and Atlantic blankets. We loved the seating outside and really appreciated the fact that, as a party of six, we had three en-suite rooms and three parking spaces. The views are stunning and it is located very close for a coastal walk to Land's End or a ten to fifteen minute walk to the beach (bit longer on the way back!) We would thoroughly recommend staying at Far West.
Would also recommend the coastal path to Treen via Porthcurno and Porthgwarra (great pasties) with a cider at The Logan Rock Inn. We would have liked a visitor book in the accommodation (not only do we like leaving a message for the owner but also like reading previous comments),

We had a lovely holiday at Far West. The walk down to the Cove is very pretty with wild flowers and worth the steep climb back. We also enjoyed the easy one mile walk along the shingle cycle way to Land’s End which was all on one level so not atall taxing. The property itself was excellent with the most stunning view of Sennen Cove that you could sit and enjoy endlessly. We loved it.

Beautiful location with wonderful views through the picture windows. Great accommodation and a lovely place to stay. A perfect get away for six with three en-suite bedrooms. Very clean and reasonably well equipped. Central heating was excellent and wood burning fire was great. WiFi was of excellent quality. Be preferred to travel a little if you want better than local pub food or fish and chips though.

Far west is breathtakingly beautiful, the wow factor as you enter the apartment. This property is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully decorated and wonderful to stay in.Lots of wonderful walks on the doorstep . It has everything you need for a wonderful holiday. The area is brilliant for discovering new beaches everyday. Well worth the long drive.

This is a gem with outstanding views from most of the rooms, and the outside space was very tranquil. We can’t wait to visit again. So peaceful, we parked our car on arrival and didn’t drive it again until it was time to go home, having recharged our batteries. Bring your walking boots to make the most of this place, but being in Cornwall remember there are lots of hills and cliffs!

Far West has a real wow factor when you walk into the living space as the large window looks out over Whitesands Bay and down to Sennen Cove. We loved this room and the telescope and binoculars were a great extra touch. The photos of this space don't really do it justice-it is bigger than it seems from the pictures and very comfortable. We chose the bedroom with the seaview but discovered the bed was rather small and so decamped to the next room which was far more comfortable with a kingsize bed. All the bedrooms have lovely en-suites with great showers. The property felt clean and new. It's a shame there is nowhere to sit outside at the property and take in the seaview, but the courtyard area is still a lovely sun trap to relax in. A fence separates it from the lane which was surprisingly busy with vans as lots of properties are being redeveloped. This didn't bother us particularly but it's good to be warned. The property is just off the coast path and a brilliant location for walkers-we enjoyed walking the coast path each day and loved this place so much we have booked for next year!

Far West certainly does have that wow factor! Those views are just stunning, aren't they? The owners have tried to make the best of all available space, so although there is no outside space that has a sea view, the owners have done everything possible to make the most of the views inside. If you are used to a king size bed or bigger, then the advertised standard double may feel a little smaller. For many, those amazing views make the smaller bed a compromise worth making, but it will not suit everyone. We are glad that you found the other bedroom/bed size comfortable for you though as the owner had only just purchased new beds a few months ago to try and maintain a high standard and comfort for their guests. There are quite a few properties down the lane that you mention, which is used to access Far West, so there will be cars using it to access properties, and if any property down there is having work done, then there would be additional traffic from that, however, the lane doesn't lead to anywhere other than for access to properties, so it is certainly not busy in a way that you would experience in a village/town. We are sorry if the lane was a little busier than you expected at the time of your stay, but it certainly sounds like you still enjoyed your stay and we are delighted to hear that we will see you back here again next year. Tanya, Customer Services

A fantastic property - the views over Sennen Cove beach and out to sea were memorable. Easy parking with a secure garage to store your toys. The property was very clean with excellent fixtures and fittings which made our holiday so relaxing. We loved the wood burner too.

This is such an amazing place with the most incredible views! It has everything you need and is decorated to such a high standard. We loved it here and can’t wait to come back next year!

My family and I absolutely love this accommodation, the views are absolutely fantastic with just a short walk to Sennen beach and also a short walk to Lands End. Everything is done to a high standard, its very comfortable. We enjoyed it so much we booked to go again next year.

The view from this property is absolutely stunning. The studio is a modern and well designed layout. It is an ideal property for anyone who enjoys surfing or walking.

Far West is a joy to go into as you are greeted by a stunning ocean view as soon as you enter the property. A lovely spacious place to stay. Very clean, very quiet, comfortable beds and sofa. Lovely outside space for eating outside too. Well equipped and just a great place to stay. We loved it. As it’s about as far south as you can go in Cornwall, so it’s a long drive but so worth the journey. We will definitely stay there again. Sennen Cove is a great beach and it’s a quick walk to Lands End for some stunning sunsets.

We have had the best time this last week during our stay at Far West. What a beautiful apartment to rest in - with its ever-changing view of the sea through big wide windows, large sofas to curl up in and comfy beds to sleep in - with the added comfort of snuggly soft Atlantic blankets too. We feel we were totally spoiled! The apartment was scrupulously clean, well equipt and the attention to detail was second to none - from the beautiful art on the walls to the binoculars through which to watch the surfers at Sennen Cove, from the stunning hydrangeas adorning the tables to a choice of blankets to wrap up in during the cool of the evening as we sat on the private patio area in the late evening sunshine. What a treat it has been! Would love to think we'd be back someday soon.
