We had a brilliant week over Christmas with three adults, two children and two dogs. The multiple living areas meant that everyone was able to have their space when they needed it and the utility room ensured that damp dogs could dry off away from furniture (and Christmas presents!). Making Christmas dinner was more enjoyable in the spacious and well equipped kitchen than it is at home and we all loved watching the stormy sea from the comfort of the upstairs sitting room. We'd love to return!

December 2023

Our first time staying at Lamorna House and what a fantastic week we all had. It was so comfy and cosy yet spacious for a very large family. The house was so well equipped with everything you need for a home from home feel to it. We all certainly felt at home! The views over the sea were just amazing! We watched storm Ciaran roll in and the waves were just so dramatic to watch from the windows. I myself didn’t use the hot tub but the rest of the family throughly enjoyed it and used it mostly every night. I met the owner, who was just lovely, when he came to check the hot tub regularly. The photography around the house it’s just amazing: we actually purchased some! We will most definitely be visiting Lamorna House again. Thank you

Holidays in Praa Sands

With one mile of white gold sand, which looks almost tropical in the sunshine, Praa Sands provides an idyllic setting for a Cornish holiday. The beach is ideal for family picnics, sandcastle building, beach games and paddling, and the waves are great for surfers and bodyboarders. Praa Sands beach is surrounded by stunning coastal walks, with breathtaking views of Penzance, Mount’s Bay and The Lizard Peninsula.

Great surf and surf hire facilities are on your doorstep along with the coast path and spectacular scenery. Read about surfing in Praa Sands on our blog: Ten of the best surf spots in Cornwall.

Praa Sands’ nine-hole golf course is only minutes away, or for those who prefer a bit of history, Pengersick Castle is a short walk away where there are plenty of stories about the wrecking and smuggling that took place in the bay until the 18th century. Right on the beach is Sandbar, a modern and bright restaurant/bar with magnificent views across the ocean.

Did you know...

Praa Sands is commonly pronounced 'Pray' Sands.

Once again we had an amazing holiday at Lamorna. So comfortable and welcoming with all aspects of ensuring a wonderful stay thought about. Thank you

Oh my goodness! This was such a lovely property to spend a week relaxing in. There is everything you could possibly need provided. I just want to live there! The view was lovely. We were very lucky with the weather but even had it been miserable outside I would still have enjoyed the view and lounging in the two sitting areas and eating meals in the lovely kitchen. The dogs had such a wonderful time walking down to the beach which was very quiet during our week especially first thing in the morning and in the evening. Beautiful area. I would love to come back.

This really has a wow factor when you arrive. There are views from every window down to the beach. Steep steps down from the car parking area so care is needed with luggage etc. There are 2 shops at the end of the road. Sandy Stores will reserve a paper for you if you ask them to for your holiday period. The other shop R and J Supplies is a great place to mooch around. From home ware to household to beach supplies. Tesco delivered to us no problem. Sandy stores is expensive as a top up shop! The house has loungers and plenty of seating outside which are very comfortable. The walk to the beach is up hill on the way back so daily walks will make you much fitter! Dogs are allowed on the beach apart from July and August so we adopted a few along the way who took to walking with us instead of their owners. You will not be disappointed this is a lovely place to stay and take a look at the stunning photography on the walls too!!

Our third stay at Lamorna House which says it all. We're never disappointed and would highly recommend a stay here to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday with spectacular views of Praa Sands. The house is clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The owners are always friendly and helpful. We love staying here and we'll be back next year!

Lamorna House was a warm, comfy home . Very nicely furnished . Facilities in the kitchen and utility room was excellent . We only had one car but thought the parking area was a bit tight if you have a big car. A lovely cream tea and milk left to greet us. A very enjoyable stay, very central to tour this SW corner of Cornwall .

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed it here, it is a lovely property in a fantastic spot in Praa Sands, and those views are just stunning. If you are ever returning, please do give us a call about the parking as it sounds like you may have potentially parked in the wrong area. The space can fit up to 3 cars, depending on sizes of the vehicles and how they are arranged in the parking area. So hopefully this isn't something that would put you off returning to the property in the future. Tanya, Customer Services

This was our first time at Lamorna House and what a treat we had. The property accommodation and living space were excellent and the views across Praa Sands to die for. We couldn't ask for more for our family of 5 . We found this to be one of the cleanest holiday homes we have visited and the equipment in this home was top notch. Would love to come back to this excellent property.

This is a warm, welcoming and spacious family home that offers a great space for family get-togethers. Everything you might need is provided - from a whole bank of fridges, through good laundry facilities, to two large and comfortable lounge spaces with fantastic views. We used one for the kids to spread in and had the other as a calmer space for relaxing and chatting together. The quirky pottery and the beautiful photography on the walls was the icing on the cake. We just loved this place and recommend highly.

Excellent house, lovely views of Praa Sands! Lots of space to spread our for a family holiday. Would 100% recommend!

Lovely place to stay view was incredible it’s a steep walk down to the beach but nothing to major. So close to do things, such as st Micheal mount, Lands end etc. There is a lovely pub near by called the packet inn amazing foods and staff were so friendly and helpful about 3 min drive away.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Our Christmas stay was very special thank you.

Lamorna House gave us everything we needed for a stress free multi generational holiday.

The lovely view, couple of balconies, huge kitchen and multiple chill our spaces made sure there was something for everyone.

A truly relaxing break.

We had a great week away in Lamorna House. Stunning location to wake up to and watch the sun go down, making you never wanting to leave!

Lots of space so not on top of one another and our little dog loved sitting on the balcony upstairs seagull watching!

Looking forward to next year, same time, same place! See you then!

This is the second time we've stayed here and we absolutely love it! The location at Praa Sands and the house itself with its views are perfect. The hot tub is great for relaxing in at the end of the day. I'd recommend Lamorna House to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in an amazing setting. Can't wait to come back next year!!

We loved staying at Lamorna House so much so we have booked again for next year. It was like home from home, so clean and being so near to the beach was lovely that you could walk and we had 2 dogs so was great to be able to bring the extended fur family. The house was so well set up, there was nothing that wasn't there, from being able to cook the kitchen was so well set up to be able to do this will every utensil you could think of. I can't recommend this home enough, beautiful location, amazing views and a lovely short walk to an amazing beach.

Lamorna House is just as described, very spacious, comfortable and clean. The views from the back of the house and terrace are beautiful. Loved that could hear the sea at all times, going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the waves is so relaxing. Aspect holidays were always very helpful, it was our 40th wedding anniversary and the team left us a beautiful card and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate , a lovely gesture.

Lamorna House is just stunning. We had an age range of 19-82 and everyone loved it. Stunning views and being able to hear the sea was so good to wake up too. The house is so well furnished and the kitchen equipment is excellent. The welcome pack was much appreciated. We all enjoyed eating outside and using the hot tub after being in the sea. The house is beautifully clean. One of the best houses we have stayed in and can’t wait to come back. Praa Sands is a peaceful village but close to many places and attractions although we found it hard to leave as loved it so much. Thank you to the Aspects team for all your help as always excellent.

We loved Lamorna House for the accommodation, the location with the lovely sea views, proximity to the beach and being able to use the hot tub after a day exploring the South West Coast Path. The accommodation lived up to our expectations and was very clean and tidy. The sound of the sea breaking on the shore was very relaxing along with bird song. All in all we had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would definitely recommend it. The bus stop at the end of the road now has an hourly bus service to Penzance, Helston and Falmouth, which we made full use of on our £5 day network ticket.

We had a fabulous family holiday staying at Lamorna House. When looking for a holiday home we wanted a property that could cater for 8 people (three generations) with enough space for everyone. Lamorna House fitted the bill on every level. Very comfortable and well equipped with everything you could want topped off by stunning views. This is a fabulous property that we can’t recommend highly enough.

If you love your Cornish coastline with a beautiful beach and plenty of walks, this area and gorgeous property will not disappoint. Situated up a hill the house looks over Praa Sands and looking at the view every morning was a total delight. The house itself was spacious, clean and had everything you need. It was a bit like a tardis! There is one master bedroom that has a stunning view and three smaller bedrooms which are located at the back of the property. There are two lounging areas again with stunning view. A good size kitchen/dining area which was great when cooking Christmas dinner! The hot tub was very welcome to relax in after a good long walk and there's a small games room. The beach is fantastic for walking dogs although this was Christmas so I'm not sure if it is seasonal only. The are a couple of shops to pick up supplies about three minutes walk from the property. We met the owners several times when the came to check the hot tub and they were lovely and very helpful. The walk from the beach up to the house is on a bit of hill, although this didn't worry us at all, those less able bodied may struggle a little, but you can park at the beach in a pay and display. It was also very peaceful at the house, all you can hear is the sea. We would definitely recommend and would love to go back again one summer to hopefully take advantage of the outside area. Must give a shout out to Aspects too! Third holiday and all three have been fantastic with great service.

Fantastic house, lovely views and has everything for a fabulous stay. Lovely comfy beds, slept well all week. Enjoyed the hot tub in the middle of Dec with storm Barra raging. Would love to stay again and would recommend to adult groups and family groups alike.

Wonderful location and amenities. Hot tub was great and a real treat at the end of a chilly days walk along the beach. Had a lovely holiday here and central to lots of key places to visit - St Ives, St Michaels Mount, Penzance etc.

Highly recommend staying here.

Superb home and location, everything you need for your holiday is there. Beautiful views, peaceful and tranquil. It’s a little gem!

Thank you for another enjoyable stay at Lamorna House. Your house feels like a home and offers very comfort in a wonderful position which is quiet but accessible to the coast. The house is spacious, comfortable and clean. We love the location and views of the sea with the opportunity to relax in the well-maintained hot tub. Thank you for another wonderful holiday and we look forward to our next stay which can’t come soon enough!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautful Lamorna House, we all wished I had booked for two weeks instead of one!! We were seven adults and three dogs on holiday for my birthday and it was the perfect place to celebrate. The views are spectacular and the sound of the waves very relaxing. Lamorna House is clean and well presented with all you could need. I booked Lamorna House as it had enough rooms for all of the family and that it is dog friendly, has amazing views and of course has a hot tub. I absolutely love Cornwall and hope to stay at Lamorna House again someday.

We had a wonderful stay at Lamorna House. The house is stunning, beautiful location, clean and really well equipped! Ideally situated with plenty of places to visit within reasonable travel distances. Only wish we could have stayed longer!

Lovely house, spectacular views.

Lamorna House is exceptional great views and space brilliantly equipped and so close to beach we’ve booked again for 2022. 10/10.

The position of the house provided a beautiful view of the bay and is situated on a quiet road. The interior is modern with all facilities and very clean. Maintenance support is on hand if required. The hot tub was a bonus.

Lamorna House exceeded our expectations and the photos cannot do justice to the view which is incredible. Lamorna House is so comfortable that even in the rain it is a pleasure to be there just chilling and in the sunshine absolute bliss. Good local walks along the coastal paths and a beautiful beach what more could you ask for.

My stay at Lamorna house was everything I hoped for and more. It was beautiful, well equipped and in a brilliant location for the beach and coastal walks. So often when holidaying in the UK you worry about the weather, not here. Even if it had rained I would of been so happy relaxing in the house watching the waves.

We had an amazing holiday at Lamorna House. It is a truly superb holiday home with spectacular sea views, overlooking the wonderful Praa Sands beach. The house itself is beautiful inside, very clean, and has everything you could possibly need and more. The dogs loved it too! We've already booked up for next year and can't wait to come back!!

Lamorna House we will be back ?? We had a fabulous time staying at this property !! The views were amazing and the beach just a short walk. The property is also in a good location for travel around Cornwall by car. The property was clean and tidy and the owners were lovely made us feel right at home. The hot tub was an added bonus after long walks it was nice to sit back and relax. We had a fabulous week here and will definitely be booking again !

Fantastic sea view property with the added benefit of a hot tub and outside hot shower. Spacious accommodation with a huge modern kitchen and two living rooms with sea views. Praa sands beach is fantastic. The only slight downside is the somewhat limited outside space and the property immediately in front of this one, which does not obscure sea views, but has obviously been built in the same plot. It may or may not be a problem for others, but we found it slightly disappointing.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We always try to be honest and transparent with the property descriptions and photos and try to show the property in front of Lamorna House as clearly as we can. We are sorry to hear that this was not what was expected. The property includes a terrace with seating for 8 and sea views. To the rear of the property there is also an area that provides guests with a hot tub, outdoor shower, sofa, a couple of chairs and a shed that is home to a football table and darts board. So, whilst it is certainly not big enough for a run around, particularly if you have young children in the party, or dogs that like a big space to run around in between those lovely coastal walks; the owners have tried to make the most of the area and provide an entertaining space for guests. It may not suit every party, but with such great facilities on offer and a beautiful property, we really hope that you enjoyed it. Tanya, Customer Services

Loved the location and proximity to the beach, it was the main reason for the booking, it offered great views out to sea and we could hear the waves from the house. The house was furnished to a high standard and the hot tub was particularly nice. It was also very safe for our dogs, the garden and driveway areas were very secure.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lamorna House. The view of the sea was amazing with the added bonus of a hot tub! We did not want to leave.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Lamorna House. This part of the coast line is spectacular and we were able to enjoy lovely views from the house. The house was spacious, well furnished, comfortable and homely. We have booked our next stay already.

P Marsh

A beautiful house in a gorgeous peaceful location! A well equipped house with everything you will need, especially great amenities for having small children with us.

Beds were spotless and comfy, the rest of the house spotless too. We loved using the jacuzzi! We are already looking at when we can come back!

Lovely house, spacious, and good views of the sea. Well equipped. Suitable for families to share. Rather a steep hill and steps down to the beach at Praa Sands, so need to be fit to do the ten minute walk.

This really is a fabulous property with every comfort thought of and to a high standard. The outdoor spaces and facilities are equally excellent . However sadly the extensive building work on a property next door meant being woken at 7.45 am by drilling and banging even on a bank holiday and meant we couldn’t make full use of the outside seating and hot tub due to being totally overlooked by builders. We would definitely stay again but when the building work is complete!

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are so sorry that you have been disturbed by the works next door. After it was raised by the previous guests, we had been informed that the neighbouring works were nearly completed, and the noise would not be excessive and only intermittent. We would always want to be open and honest with guests and would want to inform anyone due in of any work that may impact on your enjoyment of the property, so we can only apologise; we genuinely had not realised that it would be something that would cause any issue for you. We had also been informed that there would not be any work taking place at all before 9am, so clearly we need to revisit this with the neighbours and their builders to get accurate information that will help in us pre-warning any incoming guests. We appreciate you letting us know and sincerely hope that we will be able to welcome you back another time when you can fully enjoy this property. Tanya, customer Services UPDATE: We are pleased to be able to confirm that the neighbouring work has now been completed

This was our second time staying at Lamorna so we knew what to expect. It’s a great house in a great location. The views are amazing. There were a few things that needs improvement. The neighbours are having renovation work.We couldn’t sit outside on the terrace as the constant drilling and banging spoilt it. Not a fault of aspect or Lamorna but something that guests should be made aware of. There was no satellite tv although it was advertised as having it. On rainy days it would have been nice to watch a film instead of re-runs of bargain hunt. The upstairs en-suite has a terrible smell. We were having to the leave the windows open all day and then spray the room on the evening. We were unable to use the en-suite as we had to keep the door shut due to the smell. The display it broken on the hot tub. We were unable to see what temperature we were adjusting it to.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thanks for your feedback, though we were so sorry to hear about the works next door. This should have all been completed in the spring but with recent events, it seems it has been delayed. We are sorry that we hadn't known about this delay to the work next door and now being aware, we will try to get a clear idea of what works will be taking place so that we can pre-warn incoming guests if there are due to be noisy weeks. The owners have also been in contact to report that the smell that you mentioned had been noticed once a while back and just required the trap to be cleared of debris and drain unblocker used. They are sorry that they were not aware of this at the time of your stay as they would have quickly attended to resolve this. This has since been addressed and they have also ordered a new display for the hot tub, so thank you for bringing this to our attention. We also wanted to apologise for our oversight on the advertising of the Sky TV package. The owners had informed us a while back that they would not offer this anymore, so we removed this from the website description immediately, but unfortunately, it still mentioned Sky TV in the at a glance section, which was completely our error. This has now been removed and we apologise for any disappointment as a result of our oversight. Thanks again for your helpful comments. Tanya, Customer Services

Excellent holiday home and location, would definitely stay here again .

Lamorna House is perfectly positioned to access the less frequented Lizard area of West Cornwall, as well as the St Ives and Penzance areas. We loved the ease of travel to Kynance Cove, Coverack and Cadgwith. We also made a laid back day trip to St Ives by train from the park and ride at St Erth. There is the lido at Penzance plus art galleries and museum. Nearby Porthleven has lots of restaurants. And the local fish and chip takeaway was a hit. The house itself was spacious and comfortable and the kitchen and dining areas were well equipped so we enjoyed cooking in. Finally the hot tub was a great plus. I would definitely recommend this property for friends and family groups.

A delightful holiday house and it was nice for the family to enjoy an open plan kitchen diner which was very well equipped. All the bedrooms and sitting rooms were well furnished and very comfortable with a lovely view of the sea right outside the sitting room. A very small garden area with artificial grass was also a comfortable area for relaxing in. My guests staying in this house all said they would love to return at some future date.

What a fantastic week we had. Lamorna house is absolutely beautiful. It caters for everything you could need and more. You can tell the owners have gone that extra mile. The views from the back of the house are amazing and we were lucky to have 4/5 days of sunshine. We will definitely be going back. Hopefully for more than a week this time.

A very spacious, clean and homely house with great views and social space and wonderful master bedroom with it's own living space. Hot tub is lovely, just a shame it doesn't benefit from the views to the rear of the property, but you cant have everything I guess!! Great location too especially if you like the surf. Few minor things to improve upon to make this the really top quality of property we tend to rent, which we have mentioned to Aspects in our questionnaire response, but overall a property we would consider renting again if they were addressed.

Thank you for your lovely comments; it is great to hear just how much you enjoyed your time here, and thank you for your very helpful comments and suggestions, which have all been sent on to the owner for their consideration. You get to experience and view the properties in a different way than we do, so feedback like this is great for us and the owners to see so that we can better understand what improvements are considered most important for guests. Thanks again, and hope to see you back soon. Tanya, Customer Services

We had an amazing stay at Lamorna House. The location was good and the views from the property were amazing. The house was fully equipped for everyone's needs. Would definitely stay here again. The whole family had an amazing holiday

Excellent property and location it was very easy to get to all the the other places of interest and most of them were within a 30 minute drive. Being on top of the beach was also a brilliant bonus, what a view from the house. A very well laid out house and after being out it was a pleasure to come back and relax there.

What a beautiful high quality-holiday home Lamorna House is. Extremely well equipped, spacious and comfortable with loads of beautiful natural light. Hot tub and outside shower was well used in the lovely weather we enjoyed in April. Beautiful view over Praa sands as we all sat on the large veranda/deck enjoying our food alfresco. A shortish walk to the lovely beach. Large kitchen/diner, 2 spacious sitting rooms, a well equipped utility room, 2 of the 4 bedrooms are en-suite plus a family bathroom. 2 dishwashers, washer, dryer, 2 freezers and 3 fridges. Off-street gated parking for 3-4 cars. I can't speak highly enough of this lovely house and we will definitely aim to stay here again.

We enjoyed the environment and the fascilities, Lamorna House is the perfect base for a great holiday in Southwest Cornwall - so much to see and to do. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a peaceful place Lamorna House is the right property for you. It has everything you need and more. A lovely property to spend time together as a family.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lamorna House and would definitely like to stay there again. It was the most lovely house, so bright and airy with amazing views of the beach. The location was really good, it was within half an hour of everywhere in West Cornwall, perfect. It was also well equipped with everything you'd need. Having the second living room/snug was so great and meant we could chill out and watch tv away from the main bedrooms. There's a games shed to the side of the house with windbreakers and beach things in the other shed- amazing. There's even full Sky HD with movies for those rainy days. They'd thought about all the little things, we honestly can't fault it. Thank you to the owners.

A beautiful, light and spacious house; immaculately clean. Beds really comfortable. The ocean views from the rear are wonderful whether sunshine or rain. When windy you can watch the sea from the warmth of the sitting rooms or kitchen breakfast room. Well equipped utility room and outside washing line most useful. The hot tub is an added bonus. We were very sad to leave.
