We loved the property, location was amazing, very cosy and clean, everything we needed was there. The views from the cottage were great and the added benefit of a parking space. The pubs and restaurants in Porthleven are fantastic. We’ve been coming to Porthleven for nearly 14 years and this property is up there with some of the best. We will definitely be back, love a winters break.

Holidays in Porthleven

Whatever you love about Cornwall, we’re sure you'll find it while enjoying a holiday in Porthleven. Relax and enjoy the boats bobbing in the harbour, pull on the walking boots and join the coastal path to Rinsey and Praa Sands, take a short drive to nearby Marazion and the iconic St Michael's Mount, or hit the waves and surf until sunset.

This charming fishing town has a relaxing atmosphere; it's gorgeous in the Summer and dramatic during the Winter. The granite harbour and pier with its famous clock tower has become an iconic storm-watching spot during wild wintry weather and offers a tranquil setting on calmer days.

Take a short break out of season in Porthleven and avoid the hubbub on the roads and beaches. Soak up the sun on the harbour front and watch the fishing boats pass by. Catch the first glimpses of colour from the acres of Cornish daffodils in early spring with the sea as a back drop as you drive from coast to coast. With easy access to the coastal footpath, head east to discover Gunwalloe Fishing Cove, Polurnan Cliffs and Mullion Cove or head west and marvel at Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe and Marazion.

Take a short walk from Porthleven and reach the coarse sand of Porthleven beach, reaching two miles south as far as Loe Bar, a sand spit separating the sea and forming Loe Pool, the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall.

Porthleven harbour is an enjoyable place to relax, with its cafés, pubs and restaurants providing the perfect place for you to sit outside and watch the world float by!

Top tip

Like storm watching? Visit in winter and you may be lucky enough to experience huge waves crashing over the clock tower!

A great little cottage with the added bonus of carparking. Very clean and comfortable with great views

Clean and comfortable cottage in lovely location.

This is my fourth (or fifth!) time at The Lookout and I've already booked for next year :)

The house is warm and comfortable with amazing seas views. Very convenient to enjoy everything that Porthleven has to offer

If you want glorious sea views that are ever-changing depending on the weather, then “The Lookout” is for you. When sitting upstairs in the comfortable lounge, all you can see is the sea! Look out of the window, and you can see the clock tower (the institute), the outer harbour, and right along the coast looking towards Lizard Point. Throw in the local fishing boats coming and going and you have the perfect holiday destination. Porthleven is heaven for holidaymakers wanting a range of eateries, from pasty’s out of the bag, to fine dining. With plenty of art galleries, jewellery and gift shops, not forgetting places to buy a traditional cream tea and locally made ice cream. There really is something for everyone. And more recently home to a national award winning brass band, who you might be lucky enough to hear playing on the quayside. The Lookout is so welcoming, with a homely touch, it is also very well equipped and very comfortable. The wooden bench outside is perfect for enjoying a drink and watching the world go by.

Any future guest planning to holiday at The Lookout will not be disappointed with the property or the service given by Aspects Holidays. This is our fourth visit to The Lookout and booked for a fifth visit in 2024

The "Lookout" was a fantastic cottage, very clean and all mod cons. The unusual layout of the lounge upstairs concerned us at first, but it really made good use of the views across the bay. Stunning. The off road parking was very good and would probably suit up to a ford Focus size, etc.

The walk to town is short with lots of cafe's, coffee/tea shops Pasties etc. The beach (past the church) was surprisingly nice. Recommend Kota Kai restaurant and the Square. Strangely no bakers in town, but you can get what you need at the supermarket. We spent much of our time at Poldhu beach, but you must visit the Lizard and Kynance cove. Beautiful. All in al a fantastic week!

Beware the smoke alarm

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are sorry to hear that the fire alarm went off a couple of times, with no explanation. That is not something that is usually reported, so we will get that checked. Thanks for letting us know. Tanya, Customer Services

Lovely comfortable cottage, great location with sea views, lovely listening to the waves. Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay again. The parking spot and added bonus.

We have once again had a first class stay in this excellent property. Everything about the property is just right, and of course the view is amazing. The location also means that it is very quiet at night whilst not being far from the harbour. Looking forward to another visit already

An absolutely wonderful cozy cottage. Great location. Views amazing. So clean, comfy and everything you need for self catering.

Best part the cream teas on arrival WOW!!!

Cottage was clean and comfortable as described on web site, however the parking is very tight for two cars, but it is manageable. Lovely spot with great acces to Porthleven.

Loved the cottage and the surroundings. Ideal spot for either spending the day locally or going off exploring the many beautiful places nearby and the art galleries.

had a lovely stay, highly recommended

Cosy cottage. Ideal location but a little tight for parking two cars.

Thank you for your feedback following your stay at The Lookout, we are pleased you had a great stay. We haven't had any previous feedback regarding the parking spaces being tight, but the road leading up to the property is quite narrow, and if you have bigger-than-average car it may be a bit of a tight squeeze when parking two vehicles. If you ever have any concerns about parking before your stay please do get in touch and we'll be happy to provide measurements whenever possible. Katy, Customer Services.

Lovely cottage. Great viewsfrom the living room on the first floor.

We had a fantastic holiday at the Lookout which is situated within easy reach of all amenities in Porthleven, with an amazing sea view.

Great place to explore Cornwall. Porthleven itself has a number of pubs and restaurants to meet your needs. The accommodation was excellent, well equipped and very clean. It's very quiet at night. Great views out to sea and if you open the window over the harbour entrance. Would highly recommend.

We would highly recommend this property, this property is in a great location in Porthleven.

Snug on rainy days cool on sunny days it's just about perfect for a stay in a lovely location all year round.

Been going to the lookout for the last 9 years only reason I'm not going next year is that my week has already been booked. Lovely place to stay and a great base to explore from

Had a fantastic week at The Lookout in Porthleven. We loved the location of the cottage which offers fantastic views. The cottage itself was lovely and had everything we needed (except a pen for the visitors book!). It was clean, comfortable and the cream tea welcome pack was fantastic. Can’t wait to visit again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lookout. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It is in a great location, just a couple of minutes walk to the village. The beach is very close by. It is also a great base to explore different areas of Cornwall.

If you like upside-down cottage, then it's for you. The furniture is mismatched etc. And if you drive bear in mind that it's a very busy narrow road to manoeuvre onto. Apart from that the rest of the cottage is good, nice comfortable bed, and a good shower. Enjoy the views.

Thanks for your feedback. We try to show the layout, style of furniture and nature of the road that it is on, in all the website photos, so that guests can decide whether it will suit and work well for them, so we do hope that it was all as you had expected. It certainly sounds like you enjoyed it and hopefully it is somewhere that you would consider returning to. Tanya, Customer Services

The Lookout is in a perfect location with fantastic views. Being so close to the Cornish coastal path is a real bonus and having stayed in Porthleven before, having our own parking space was a real luxury!

Wonderful cottage and position. Would highly recommend.
