October 2023

The lookout proved to be a great find. It is in easy walking distance to shops and restaurants in Mevagissey and to the beach in Portmellon but is nevertheless quiet and has dedicated parking. Great sea view from all the windows with good outdoor seating for breakfast or glass of wine in the evening.Welcome hamper waiting for you on arrival is a very nice touch. The property is very comfortable and bright. The 2 bedrooms are compact but have the added benefit of an en suite each. We would very happily book again

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Keep up the great work!!

Wow, Wow and Wow!!!!!!! This apartment will not disappoint. We are returning guests of the Lookout, who came last year and can highly recommend this apartment in this most beautiful location.

The apartment pictures are a true representation and was spotlessly clean on our arrival. So bright, clean and fresh. The housekeeper does an incredible job. That alone, when you walk in is a great start to your holiday!

The French doors which ooen onto the patio, which is on the cliffside make it for us, the doors are constantly open for the most magnificent view. The owners leave binoculars by the door, which is a thoughtful touch, as we often saw dolphins or seals, a magical experience to view from the apartment.

It was our daughter's 21st birthday, while we were there and walked into prosseco and chocolates gifted by Aspect Holidays on the table AND prosecco and balloons gifted by the Owners, as well as a welcome gift basket!!!! Just extremely thoughtful of everyone and such a lovely touch, which we all appreciated, our daughter was over the moon and cannot thank you all enough for your kind gifts.

We had a holistic retreat booked at the Lookout on the morning of our daughter's birthday, where I had organised yoga, breathwork and meditation on the clifftop with the most wonderful yoga teacher, who put herself out to travel 45 mins to accommodate us, she was such an amazing human being and the Lookout was just the best place to have this, the breathtaking views made it! I will leave the details with the owners and Apects just in case anyone would like to enjoy the same experience.

If you want to come and relax and do nothing but soak up the view, then this is the place for you. We absolutely adore this place even in torrential rain and high winds!!! Still so beautiful to watch the world go by, just magical.

One day which was extremely bad weather, with high winds, we had a problem with the outside furniture. I phoned Aspects and the owners Julie and Graham came within minutes to help, resolving the issue immediately, which we were so grateful for.

If you love walking, hiking and sightseeing then this is the place to be also! Beautiful and stunning clifftop walks, coves and beaches.

Some helpful examples, approximate driving times from Mevagissey to: Lands End is 1 hr 30 mins Lizard, Helston is 1 hr 15 mins St Michael's Mount, Marazion is 1 hr Eden Project is 20 mins Fowey is 30 mins Charlestown is 15 mins

Asda / Tesco, St Austell 15 mins drive

The view to your right of the Lookout, heads toward Portmellon, Chapel Point, Gorran Haven which is a stunning approx 11 mile walk / hike, there and back.

Left of the view is Pentewan beach is another beautiful clifftop walk / hike.

The view straight ahead is Fowey and Looe.

Boat trips run every day from Mevagissey Harbour and were lucky to have great weather for our trip. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Saw more seals in the harbour.

It is a 10 minute walk

We recently stayed at The Lookout and had fabulous time, despite the weather being hit and miss. The views were as we had hoped, the property was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and in a perfect location for the costal path. We have stayed with Aspect Holidays on a number of occasions and would not hesitate to booked again.

The apartment is exactly as described. Excellent in every way. Beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a self catering stay. The views are breathtaking whatever the weather. Highly recommended.

A lovely apartment, great location and town and wonderfully friendly people.

The Lookout is a very beautiful apartment, views from every window are fabulous. Great to be able to open both sets of patio doors on a beautiful sunny day, even on a dull day and look straight out to sea. An apartment I could live in forever. Well done owners and aspect holidays for making our week holiday in the beautiful village of Mevagissey one to remember for always.

A beautiful apartment with an amazing view. It was very clean and comfortable with lovely bedding and towels. We were initially concerned about walking back up the hill from the town but in fact it was easy. Possibly not for people with limited mobility or ill health but fine for most people. Arriving by car a slight challenge as the road is very narrow and two way but we managed and left the car most of the time and walked into the town. The wash basins are rather small and wet shaving or face washing is difficult but that is a minor issue. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are so pleased you had a lovely stay at The Lookout, and we are glad you agree that the walk up from the town is totally worth it for those amazing views! Because the property is accessed via three flights of stairs (32 steps in total), we do say in the property description that it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, and always encourage people to get in touch before booking if they are unsure of suitablity. Thank you for also letting us know your thoughts about the wash basins in the property, your feedback has been passed along to the property owner, who can take this into consideration for the future. We hope to welcome you back to The Lookout soon! Katy, Customer Services.

Beautiful modern, comfortable flat with the most amazing views across the sea and Mevagissey below. Even managed to see a tuna jumping out of the water on our first day! Lucky to also see dolphins & tuna on the ferry to Fowey on the last day of the season. Convenient to walk down to Mevagissey, although a steep trek, and the walk to Heligan is worth doing to if you are up to it.

We loved The Lookout! Fantastic views from a well positioned and well appointed apartment. The Lookout is finished to a high standard and was presented in a thoroughly clean condition which made for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. The welcome pack was really appreciated, Thankyou! The view is incredible and was a real treat to be able to watch the sun rise. Meva is simple lovely and a short walk. A real delight. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back!!

Absolutely loved our stay here. The views are out of this World and with the pubs, restaurants and quaint shops of Mevagissey just 10 mins one direction and the lovely cove and beach of Portmellon 10 minutes the other we couldn't have picked a better location. Lovely decor, lovely owners, only thing that let us down was the British weather!! But hey, all the more reason to visit again

Our family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lookout. It is a beautifully refurbished apartment and the owners have thought of everything with lots of special touches. The views were amazing and the location is close to the village, so great to stroll down for a bite to eat, go on a boat trip or rib ride, take part in crabbing, or just people watch. Take your time walking back up the hill to the apartment - there are a few routes that you can go, so choose whichever suits - you can always have a rest half way, as plenty of benches to enjoy the views. We would love to come back again!

Would HIGHLY recommend this property and beautiful location.

The main reason for booking was due to the view, outside area and interior decor.

We were not disappointed, the pictures on the website represent exactly what you get but walking into it is even better!

As soon as we walked in the cleanliness was perfection and felt relaxed immediately! ( We were that happy, we left a thank you card for the housekeeper at the end of our stay, to show our appreciation).

We opened the doors from the kitchen and living room onto the decked seated area and the sea view was beautiful, stunning and just amazing and felt even more relaxed!

To have the luxury of the ground floor, we could walk out to our own cliff edge, so felt right on top of the sea, beautiful!

The bedrooms also had stunning sea views.

A wonderful touch of binoculars and books were left at the apartment. On our first day we were so lucky to see seals and dolphins, just incredible! We used them everyday.

Another nice touch was a welcome gift basket left by the owners, so lovely and thoughtful.

We were also impressed with the apartment being fully equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday but if you are not sure about something, Aspects were extremely helpful with checking and phoning me back to let me know what was there.

There was plenty of room for 4 of us to move around comfortably in the living room and kitchen more so.

We cannot rate this property and location highly enough, just beautiful. A 5/10 minute stroll down to Mevagissey harbour and little shops. 15 minute drive to large supermarket.

If you want to go out sightseeing somewhere different everyday, waking up and returning to this property with it's stunning, breathtaking views is for you.

If you want stay at the property every day, to get away from it all, to just relax and take in the amazing view, to watch sunrisees and sunsets, then this property is for you also.

Would LOVE to return and can only thank the owners, the housekeeper and Aspects for the most amazing time and the great memories captured here, just wonderful!

The Lookout is exactly as it says, it looks straight out to sea with amazing sunrises and rainbows as we had the usual mix of British weather!

It's an extremely well presented and equipped apartment which was very comfortable for our group of four adults. Walking distance to the lively harbour for all the restaurants and activities then a fairly steep walk back but worth it for the lovely views on the way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break away and would love to return again!
