Holidays in Porthleven

Whatever you love about Cornwall, we’re sure you'll find it while enjoying a holiday in Porthleven. Relax and enjoy the boats bobbing in the harbour, pull on the walking boots and join the coastal path to Rinsey and Praa Sands, take a short drive to nearby Marazion and the iconic St Michael's Mount, or hit the waves and surf until sunset.

This charming fishing town has a relaxing atmosphere; it's gorgeous in the Summer and dramatic during the Winter. The granite harbour and pier with its famous clock tower has become an iconic storm-watching spot during wild wintry weather and offers a tranquil setting on calmer days.

Take a short break out of season in Porthleven and avoid the hubbub on the roads and beaches. Soak up the sun on the harbour front and watch the fishing boats pass by. Catch the first glimpses of colour from the acres of Cornish daffodils in early spring with the sea as a back drop as you drive from coast to coast. With easy access to the coastal footpath, head east to discover Gunwalloe Fishing Cove, Polurnan Cliffs and Mullion Cove or head west and marvel at Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe and Marazion.

Take a short walk from Porthleven and reach the coarse sand of Porthleven beach, reaching two miles south as far as Loe Bar, a sand spit separating the sea and forming Loe Pool, the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall.

Porthleven harbour is an enjoyable place to relax, with its cafés, pubs and restaurants providing the perfect place for you to sit outside and watch the world float by!

Top tip

Like storm watching? Visit in winter and you may be lucky enough to experience huge waves crashing over the clock tower!

Fabulous bungalow and excellent location in a quiet part of Porthleven, within a five minute walk you are in the harbour area.

We would highly recommend.

Kitto's Place is handily located with just a 5 minute walk into the centre of Porthleven. Excellent spacious accommodation. It is well equipped generally, the hob has a bit of a mind of its own, but once used it was easy.

Thank you for your feedback. We're so glad you enjoyed your time at the property and exploring Porthleven over the Christmas and New Year period. We hope to welcome you back soon. Phoebe, Customer Services

Lovely place. Very well equipped. Just a short walk into Porthleven. Which was good. Would definitely go again if it is free weeks we want next year

Kitto’s place is a spacious, airy and well-equipped bungalow conveniently situated in a residential street behind the harbour head. There is a very pleasant garden space, perfect god dogs, and there is easy walking access to Porthleven and drives further scored are great.

Perfect location, great bungalow and very comfortable. Kitchen fully equipped for all needs. Extremely quiet and peaceful but with quick and easy access to beach, shops, restaurants, etc. Superbly clean, even all the areas that generally get missed and we've stayed in many holiday rentals. Couldn't fault it and hope to return again soon

A modern well equipped bungalow within 5 minutes down hill to the port and shops.

We have stayed in Porthleven for a number of years and Kittos place is now my favourite. Lovely bungalow and a great location as not to far to walk into the village. Great to have parking outside your door, a bonus in these lovely villages. Will hopefully be back next year.

Lovely property. Very spacious and well equipped. Situated on a quiet road but only 5 minutes walk from the harbour. Thank you for the delicious welcome gift, it was much appreciated. If you are bringing your dog, watch out for George, one of the neighbours cats. He’s very friendly and can usually be found on the back garden or waiting outside the back door.

Great place to stay, just a few minutes walk from the harbour in a quiet area. Cottage is very spacious and clean, well equipped and has a good secure garden for dogs. Already booked to stay again next year. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely two week stay at Kitto’s place: a home from home with all the amenities and items you could possibly require. The situation is ideal: a five minute walk to the harbour shops and restaurants and ideally placed for driving to places outside Porthleven.

if you have a larger vehicle you will find it a pain to reverse into the drive

We are sorry to hear that you may have struggled with the space there. It isn't a space that we have ever noted being particularly challenging to access or park in, but we will continue to monitor for feedback in case we need to add details to the website description. Currently we have a couple of photos on the website that show the space, so anyone looking to book this property will be able to get a good idea of what to expect and whether it would be suitable for their vehicle. We hope that everything else was as expected and that you had a great time here. Tanya, Customer Services
