The Bank Barn was ideally situated for exploring Cornwall. The property more than exceeded our expectations, it was well appointed and we wanted for nothing. Everything in the Bank Barn was impeccably clean and tidy. Very comfortable and homely. The owner's were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The views were superb and it was so peaceful. We will definitely be back at the Bank Barn on the future.

Holidays in West Cornwall

There is almost an embarrassment of riches for the visitor to choose from when looking at holiday cottages in West Cornwall. With its extraordinary variety of landscapes and coastline, as well as its proud history and cultural heritage, you won't be disappointed.

With many superb beaches to enjoy, including five with the coveted Blue Flag status, it is easy to see why so many people associate this part of the world with sun, sea, sand and, of course, surf. There is, however, so much more on offer when contemplating self catering holidays in West Cornwall.

West Cornwall is home to popular destinations such as MarazionPenzanceCarbis Bay and St Ives, which are all worth a visit. From the iconic St Michael's Mount to the breath taking Minack Theatre as featured in our blog, you wont be short of things to do while self catering in West Cornwall.

Things to do in West Cornwall

Days out

With such an abundance of stunning sights in West Cornwall, you'll be spoilt for choice when choosing where to visit while holidaying here. St Michael's Mount, The Minack Theatre, and St Ives harbour are just a few of the enthralling places on offer. The many golden sandy beaches that West Cornwall boasts are perfect for topping up the tan. For something a little more energetic, boat trips, fishing excursions and water sports are available. Museums and art galleries provide an equally enjoyable day out, with world famous exhibitions at the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth museum within easy reach.

With the bustling coastal towns of St Ives, Mousehole and Marazion within close proximity of one another, you can be sure to find somewhere to provide everything you need to the perfect family day out.

Walking

Cornwall's spectacular scenery provides the perfect backdrop for exploring. The coastal paths which hug the rugged cliffs offer breath taking sea views, while walking inland you can enjoy the many nature reserves, ancient stone circles and woodland, for which Cornwall is renowned.

Art & heritage

Famous for its quality of light, the area has long been a haven for artists and there are many galleries to be found wherever you go. There are also many gardens to enjoy; the mild climate will often let plants flourish here which you won’t find anywhere else in the country. For those wanting to dig a little deeper, there is also an amazing mining and maritime heritage which has done much to shape the county and its people as well as, it could be argued, the rest of the world.

Beautiful and tranquil position but easy to get to places of interest. Upstairs living area with panoramic views and very airy and spacious. St Michael’s Mount can be seen in the distance. Very comfortable bed and all equipment spanking new. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our stay at The Bank Barn. The house was beautiful inside and out and was fully equipped plus the views were lovely. The location is perfect, we weren’t far from a few of our favourite spots (St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance) but we’re still out of the way to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The owners were lovely and we even bought some eggs from them which were very tasty.

We loved our stay at the Bank Barn and would definitely recommend it. It was lovely to be in the countryside but in easy reach of many beaches, towns etc to explore. The barn was spacious, clean and well equipped, as-well as having lovely outside space and being very peaceful.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The house was very clean and spacious and comfortable for us. The location was great as we were able to get to lots of places within a short distance. The two cats provided much entertainment for our children! We would definitely love to come back again.

The Bank Barn is a beautiful property, one which I wish I could call my own home. For the amount it cost it was I was blown away. The views are gorgeous - you can see St. Michael’s Mount lit up from the upstairs window, and inside the barn is stunning and so comfortable- the shower pressure is amazing!

Loved the peace and quiet. The location is great to access all of west Cornwall, and despite being rural very, very few narrow lanes to get to it- always a bonus.

Will definitely look to return in the future.

Would recommend this house for it's lovely home comforts and proximity to gorgeous beaches and Cornish villages and towns.

Bank Barn was the perfect holiday home, there was everything we needed and more in the kitchen. The house was spotless. Lovely peaceful setting. We shall be recommending to friends and hope to return in the future.

We had a great stay in bank barn! Really clean! It was the perfect house for us with 2 children. The grounds around are beautiful and the house has lots of space! We would definitely stay again.

A fantastic holiday home surrounded by the Cornish countryside but within quick distance of popular beaches and attractions. The house is very well equipped with everything for a comfortable stay.

The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The barn was exceptionally clean. The upstairs living/dining/kitchen area was a great space to relax in. Plenty of cupboard and counter space. The location was good, not far from main roads and a good base to explore the area. Only the owners farm house and three other small holiday rentals on site, but the barn is set back which a sense of space and garden space at the front and back. The individual coffee, tea and sugar sachets were good but don’t forget to bring your own supply if staying longer than a few days.

Wonderful property. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful decor and fittings. Very peaceful with lovely views over countryside. Silent at night time. Great central location with easy access to western areas. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this property and hope to return.

Loved the views and the peace & quiet! Living space was perfect. Great shower and fluffy towels.

We loved The Bank Barn. Beautifully decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. Very well equipped, everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.
Amazing views down to the coast. Perfect location for exploring all of West Cornwall. Wifi was a bit slow but we soon got used to it.
Great service from Aspects-Holidays, would not hesitate to book with them again.

Absolutely spotless house. Could not have been cleaner! Lovely views, good location, Would definitely stay again.
