This was our twelfth year holidaying in Cornwall and we must say staying at the sail loft was a truly wonderful experience! It really was a home to home feel. The kitchen was fully equipped we cooked many meals throughout our stay with ease and comfort. The house was so clean and very tastefully done! The sail loft is based in an ideal location - peaceful and close enough to visit many beaches, we would say Hayle beach was our favourite this year! We will be definitely booking again in the near future! We would also like to thank Aspects holidays for their detailed and straightforward information regarding our holiday.

August 2022

The Sail Loft is in an ideal location for exploring south west Cornwall with the SW coastal path, St Erth train station and bus stops close by. It is on an attractive, quiet estate with plenty of nearby pubs & restaurants, although with the well equipped kitchen, you could easily cook your own three course meals every night if wanted. The back garden is small and doesn’t get a lot of sun but it doesn’t stop you having a pleasant time relaxing among the Cornish plants and enjoying the natural environment. We walked to Porth Kidney beach and to the beach at Carbis Bay but the best beach in our opinion is Gwithian beach ( a beach that has been visited by myself for the past 65 years). Tehidy Country Park is nearby and is a good place to visit if the weather is too hot or wet as the woodlands give you more shade/shelter and there are some interesting trees and plants there, as well as a nature walk and cafe. If you want shops then use the scenic train ride to St Ives rather than taking the car, as the roads get very busy and packed in town. There are plenty of tourist attractions nearby and delicious steak pasties from Philps bakery. We had a good week in this comfortable holiday home.

Lovely house, great location, and nice and quiet.

We had a really lovely stay at the Sail Loft with our family for our first trip to Cornwall. It is very well equipped and decorated lovely. The scones and Milk on arrival were a lovely gesture. The location is ideal for travelling about and visiting the area. It was a bit of a squeeze for 2 vehicles to park but we would definitely recommend a stay here.

The Sail loft is a lovely place to stay, we especially liked the lovely well equipped kitchen even though we didn’t eat in much it really made it feel like home, unfortunately we never managed to walk the coast path to St Ives due to the weather. The location of the sail loft is perfect for exploring Cornwall.

We had a lovely relaxing time at the Sail Loft with our grandson. The owners have been very generous with the standard of equipment and the house is nicely decorated. When the weather was bad, it was a cosy and comfortable place just to stay in for a day, chilling out and playing games. When we wanted to go out, the property is in a very convenient location for a whole host of places to visit and lovely walks. There are also several good places to eat within walking distance. We had an excellent week.

Nice comfortable holiday home with a well equipped kitchen in a great location. Well placed for exploring the best of Cornwall. If you fancy a break from driving the local train service to St Ives is excellent. Beaches and places to eat are all close by.

Would happily stay again! Worked amazingly well for us as a family of 5, is in a great location not too far from beautiful beaches, towns, and the train to get to and from st ives which was much better than trying to drive and park! Literally a ten minute journey. Company was very good when we had an issue on the last evening of stay really cant fault them! Love this house didn’t want to go home!

Sail loft is a warm, well equipped, and beautifully appointed house. It is also well located for getting around the area. We really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely house, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Thoroughly enjoyed walking along St Michael's Way, and seeing the wealth of wildlife on the Estuary. Really good break, will book again, lockdowns permitting!

Lovely house and very well equipped and quiet Location a bit isolated in that there was nowhere pleasant for an evening stroll but apart from that very good

Reply from Aspects Holidays

It is such a shame that we did not get to chat to you while you were here, as there are several beautiful walks that we could recommend from The Sail Loft, including one from the property, along the estuary and following the coast path towards St Ives. The views along the estuary and the beaches following on from that are truly spectacular! In terms of being isolated; we appreciate if you are used to a large town or city, it will feel quieter here, but there is still a lot on your doorstep. The Sail Loft sits within a quiet residential area, a 20 min stroll to St Erth station, 3 minutes to Lelant Saltings station, both taking you into Carbis Bay and St Ives. You are within a 5 minute walk to Birdies, Scarlets, The Old Quay House and The Watermill pubs/restaurants and a few minutes' drive into the town of Hayle, karting, pitch and putt, supermarket and other shops and restaurants. If you fancy a location that is right in the heart of a busy town/village, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us so that we can help you to make sure that you pick somewhere better suited and answer any questions that you may have on nearby attractions and walks. We love where we live and love to share our recommendations :-)

We had a post lock down break here at the sail loft. We had a lovely break. We felt honoured and very happy to be there. Good quality facilities. Comfy beds. The tropical courtyard garden was a nice little peaceful area. The bench at the front has lovely evening sun. There’s the occasional slow moving train at the back but it’s only a branch line. The garden had a bit of sun and a bit of shade too. Holiday Rental house one side and the other side seemed nice people. Good base for walking out and exploring via train, bus or car. We had a good holiday.

Loved the welcome cream tea and prosecco, very well equipped kitchen.

Great location for exploring the surrounding areas and lovely pub nearby, would definitely recommend this property.

We had the most amazing New Year in St Ives

The property location is excellent for access to St Ives and the surrounding areas. The owners have provided everything you could need with regard to the kitchen area. Local supermarkets and restaurants are within five minutes drive with at least three within walking distance. After a long drive it was very welcome to have tea, coffee, sugar, milk and best of all a cream tea waiting in the kitchen.

A lovely week's stay at The Sail Loft. A great location & comfortable property with a charming garden and decor.

good location very relaxing

We would recommend the The Sail Loft very highly, it suited our needs perfectly. The property is very well equipped and is furnished to a high standard and much thought has been given by the owners to really make this a home from home. Our stay in May (we cannot speak for what it might be like at the height of the Summer season) was very peaceful and we liked seeing the trains and hearing the birdsong. Having a secure place to store our bikes was also much appreciated. We will definitely book this property again.

Lovely location, very homely and comfortable. Great cottage.

Lovely property, well maintained and clean and comfortable.

The cottage was lovely and bright with a beautiful garden in a great location, perfect for catching the train to St Ives. It was nice to have tea coffee and milk provided for our arrival Scarlet Wines is an excellent restaurant, good service, lovely food and wine selection and deli virtually on the doorstep. Birdies also very good. Good walks to Porthkidney beach and Carbis Bay

Perfect for visiting St Ives and touring around Cornwall. Very spacious and clean with all modern equipment and the delight of watching the local train pass by.

Would definitely not hesitate to consider this property again if we were to come back with the same amount of people (four of us). Well appointed with a pretty complete kitchen. Extremely convenient for the train into St. Ives, a short drive into Hayle, and convenient for the A30 to get everywhere else.

A beautiful well equipped house in a great location. Gorgeous walks all around and a handy train ride into St Ives. Only £8 for a family of four.

Fantastic accommodation ,above expectations !!,We had a great holiday

Delightful home. Very helpful and friendly staff who answer the phone quickly - a rarity today. One of the best holidays we've ever had.
