Moonbeams is a remarkable three storey coastal property which is beautifully idyllic and situated in an elevated position in Carbis Bay, taking advantage of the gorgeous far reaching sea views. This spacious property is nestled into the trees and when you are sat on the stunning patio terrace, you'll feel like the sea is close enough to touch.

Each bedroom boasts its own en suite and there is enough space across the property for everyone to find their own private sanctuary. Failing that, there is plenty of fun to be had in the conservatory, which doubles up as a games room. You're also just a short walk away from the gorgeous golden sands of Carbis Bay beach, where you can soak up the sun, hire out water sports equipment, or dine in the delectable beach club restaurant. This is the perfect retreat for extended families, groups, or maybe even couples looking for somewhere with plenty of space and with its grand, Mediterranean feel, Moonbeams really will take your breath away. There is ample parking on the driveway and you are just a short walk to the coast path where you can walk to the picturesque village of St Ives in no time all, taking in the incredible surroundings on the way.

Additional information

gas central heating, no entry to the bottom half of the garden, children must be watched at all times by the pond in the driveway and dogs watched in the garden, as they may be able to get through the bushes etc as the garden isn't fully enclosed, parking for up to four cars. WiFi, two dogs welcome, but please enquire if you'd like to bring more, short breaks available.


Having you guys on the end of an email or phone was fantastic. Your service and prompt replies were terrific. Say hi to Peter the plumber too :) Moonbeams is a magnificent house and perfectly laid out for our group; two couples, my dad and two dogs. Everyone had a sea view and space to chill. I loved how ‘at home’ we felt from the moment we walked in; everything we needed was there. It’s location was great too with plenty of dog-friendly beaches and restaurants close by. All in all we had a wonderful time.

Things to do near Carbis Bay


Staying in Carbis Bay means that you are just a short walk from the stunning Carbis Bay beach. Calm waters mean it's family-friendly, and watersports such as kayaking and stand up paddleboarding are on offer. Visit Scarlet Wines just down the Road from Carbis Bay in neighbouring village Lelant for a wide selection of locally sourced gourmet products. Perfect for a picnic at the beach or stocking up your self catering holiday cottage.

St Ives

St Ives is only a 30 minute walk along the coastal path and can also be reached on one of the most memorable and scenic train rides in the UK. Visit the thriving coastal town of St Ives and soak up the atmosphere on the harbour front. With a huge selection of restaurants, shops, galleries, and home to 4 stunning beaches, St Ives offers the perfect day out. Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in St Ives or retreat to Carbis Bay to relax in the comfort of your own home-from-home.

Paradise Park

A few miles from Carbis Bay, the Paradise Park wildlife sanctuary is home to over 650 birds, including parrots, flamingos and toucans, plus lots more wildlife such as red pandas, otters and red squirrels. Open all year round, Paradise Park is a great place to spend the day with the kids. 

St Michael's Mount

Take a short drive to the opposite coast and visit the iconic landmark of St Michael’s Mount. Cross the causeway by foot at low tide, or climb aboard the 'St Michael' amphibious vehicle at high tide. Described as 'the jewel in Cornwall's crown', St Michael's Mount really is a must see.

West Cornwall Golf Club

Regarded as one of the finest links courses in Cornwall, almost every hole provides panoramic views of St Ives Bay, and with a variety of weather conditions at different times of year, you can be sure to test your abilities! With St Ives close by, why not leave the car at home, and take the 20 minute walk into town, enjoying the views along the way? This gentle walk is a must at least once during your stay. 

For nature lovers, the Steeple Woods Nature Reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife and plants where you can explore the 40 acre space which overlooks St Ives. Check out our blog post on the Steeple Wood Stroll for more information.

For a slightly more adventurous walk, the St Michael's Way is a 12.5 mile trek starting at nearby Lelant, and finishing up at the stunning St Michael's Mount in Marazion. You'll need to refuel when you arrive so we've put together a Guide to eating out in Marazion to help you decide where to go. If the long walk back doesn't seem too appealing, you can always ride the open-top bus all the way home!

Tom Bawcock's Eve, Mousehole

The tradition of Tom Bawcock comes from the feast or famine lifestyle of Cornwall.  The story goes that it was just before Christmas; there had been no fish for weeks, the boats couldn’t get out into the raging storm, the village was starving. One man, Tom Bawcock, dared to take his boat out of the harbour’s safety. He returned with enough fish to make fish pie for the whole village. 

Today, a festival takes place each year to celebrate Tom Bawcock's bravery. During the festival, Star Gazey pies are eaten in memory of this famous event.

St Ives Feast Day

Held on the anniversary of the consecration of the Parish Church of St Eia in 1434 AD, Feast Day offers visitors to witness - and even join in with - some centuries-old traditions. A morning precesison led by the Mayor to bless the Well of St Eia. Following this, the Mayor will 'Hurls the Silver Ball' into a crowd of children who assemble on the beach below. The one who returns the ball to the Guildhall steps by midday receives a silver coin. In the afternoon the Mayor then throw pennies from the balcony of the Guildhall for children to collect.
