If waking up to a view akin to a John Miller painting is on your holiday wish list, look no further. This modern timber clad holiday home, set within half an acre of grounds, which is shared with just two other lodges and Hawkes Point Cottage, offers guests uninterrupted views across Porthkidney beach towards Hayle Towans and Godrevy Lighthouse from almost every room.

Bring the outside in, by opening up the bi-fold doors in the living area to the large balcony, where you can watch the sunrise with your morning coffee, or cosy up by the woodburner on cooler evenings, whilst still taking in the mesmerising views. The ideal place to relax and unwind, Hawkes Point is picture perfect. Immediately opposite the Lodge runs the Coastal Path which will guide you along two miles of sheltered and incredibly picturesque coastline right into the heart of St Ives. Alongside the garden runs the St Ives Branch line, one of Britain's most beautiful train journeys where the train passes at a snails pace and a wave buys you a toot from the driver! Hawkes Point itself is a renowned angling spot, where sea bass pass on their way in and out of Hayle Estuary. The Lodge forms part of a small group of properties, Hawkes Point Cottage, Dolphin Watch and The Lookout, enabling larger parties to accommodate up to 20 people if required.

Please note: There are ground works taking place to prepare for the construction of a garage with an attached sunroom. This is taking place between Atlantic View and the main house. While not impeding on the sea views, the works can be seen from the balcony when looking toward the main house and area of the lawn is being used to store machinery and materials, which can be seen from within the property. When activity is taking place there is the potential for work to be heard. We currently do not have an expected timeframe for completion. Should you have any questions or queries, please contact our Customer Services Team.

Beautiful property and location. Sitting by the log burner watching the Atlantic do its thing was by far one of the most relaxing experiences I've had. The views are just stunning. Would go back in a heartbeat

October 2023

The property was everything we hoped for and more. The view took our breath away every time we looked out of the bifold doors and windows, it really is beautiful! The train going past just added to the experience, occasionally getting a wave from the driver and passengers. Can thoroughly recommend a stay at Atlantic View, our friends and my husband and I would love to go back. It’s close to St Ives and an easy 5 min and very cheap train journey to get there. La Casita restaurant in Carbis Bay (just up the road and parking) is a must. Also the Rum and Crab Shack in St Ives.

What our guests say...

We know how important honest reviews are when it comes to booking your holiday. To help you choose the right property for you, we publish all reviews left by guests who have stayed here in the past, with the few exceptions stated in our Review Guidelines. Please bear in mind that some facilities referred to by past guests in reviews can be removed or changed at any time.

We stayed here for 4 nights in December and loved it. The beds and pillows are the comfiest we've come across in a holiday let. We slept really well. The decor is really nice in the property. Cleanliness is 5 star which can't be said for a lot of places we've stayed before. The bathrooms are very clean and modern and the en suite bathroom is identical to the 2nd bathroom which was nice because we shared with another couple and it's nice to think you have the same as each other. The view is insanely good, we saw dolphins and seals and spent a lot of time just staring out at the ocean and you get that view from the living room plus both bedrooms have the same view. Just beautiful! We used the balcony even though it was winter, morning coffee with a view was great. The only bad point for us was there's not a lot of pots, pans, plates etc. Halfway through filling the dishwasher you have to pull pots out and wash them because there aren't enough items. That's the only negative though and not a dealbreaker at all! We will be returning in the future. There's 2 other properties on the same site owned by the same people and we'd be happy to stay at any of them. Would highly recommend!

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We agree - the view across Porthkidney beach is breathtaking and definitely something to treasure! Thank you for your feedback regarding the pots and pans, while next inspecting the property we will make sure the property has everything a party of 4 should need during their stay. We are glad everything else was in order for your visit and we look forward to your return! Phoebe, Customer Services

Beautiful property and location. Sitting by the log burner watching the Atlantic do its thing was by far one of the most relaxing experiences I've had. The views are just stunning. Would go back in a heartbeat

Atlantic view is a wonderful property with a stunning view. The location is peaceful, even with the regular trains passing by at the bottom of the garden, they really were no problem at all. If you like to be close to all the hustle and bustle of St Ives, this property is not for you but if a nice amble into town along a beautiful coast path is what makes your holiday this could be what you are looking for. We loved it and will most certainly return again.

View and location is excellent and this is the reason we return.Parking is very difficult and a nervous driver would struggle.

This was our 2nd time staying at Atlantic view and again was perfect , beautiful property and the views are amazing, it’s a lovely walk into st Ives , or you can walk to carbis bay and get the train into st Ives , peaceful and relaxing we will be back

This was a little piece of heaven. The view has got to be one of the best I’ve ever experienced and worth the money on its own. Parking was tight but perfectly doable and we have a long car. The beach ranks now for me alongside Bamburgh in Northumberland as the best I’ve had the pleasure to visit. Would absolutely recommend and certainly intend to return.

What a location, what an accommodation, what a view, of all the places and accommodations we have stayed in over the years in Cornwall, this is the best we’ve had. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Comfy beds, good size bathrooms. Could have spent all day just seating on the balcony watching the view roll in. Yes the train runs close to the property, but it totals a couple of minutes out of your day, personally I found it quite quaint. We where told by the owner that the path way to the accommodation will be re-routed in the near future, and be more user friendly. Definitely be booking again in the near future….

My jaw dropped when I turned the bend in the road and saw that view! We never stopped being amazed by it. We loved the ability to open the bifold doors and just sit, watch and listen to the waves crashing on the beach. If you love the beach you will love this property. There are endless walks to be had right from the door, so much to explore and we used the train a few times too which was brilliant. The parking wasn't an issue for us and we liked the train going past and we actually missed it when the there was a train strike on the last two days of our stay. There is so much delicious food on offer in St. Ives we didn't really use the kitchen much but there is enough equipment to cook if you wanted to.

Third time at Atlantic View, see previous reviews, we love it.

Perfect Christmas

The view is magnificent, the lodge clean and modern, warm and comfortable, well-equipped and large enough for our needs. A full length mirror somewhere would be a useful addition. And the decking boards would benefit from some kind of anti-slip treatment as they are treacherous in the damp weather. (We would also have appreciated a heads-up that there would be no Christmas decs, so we could have brought our own with us.)

Access is up and down a total of 58 very narrow and largely handrail-less steps. We will spread our packing across several small holdalls next time, as it almost finished us off hauling 2.5 weeks’ winter-wear to the property in our largest suitcases! (although the lovely owner did offer us flat access across the front of their property with all our luggage upon departure)

All-in-all, two and a half blissful weeks, relaxing in front of the cosy log burner, dolphin spotting and watching gannets diving. We would definitely spend Christmas at the lodge again and would love to experience it during the warmer months too.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are so pleased that you had the perfect Christmas at Atlantic View, what a great way to spend the festive period by gazing out at those uninterrupted views of Porthkidney beach. We are sorry for any disappointment caused by the lack of Christmas decorations during your stay, we do try to make this as clear as possible on the property description as to whether the property is decorated for Christmas, but if you ever have any questions, we encourage guests to get in touch prior to their stay. Due to the high location of the property, there are a lot of steps to climb before you arrive, but we hope you agree that the stunning view makes it more than worth it! Your comments regarding a full-length mirror have automatically been passed along to the owner so they can take this into future consideration. We hope to welcome you back very soon. Katy, Customer Services.

Wow! What can I say. We were blown away the moment we arrived. The view was to die for. The property is exceptional. The owners were fantastic, and went out of their way to help if needed. The train line at the bottom of the garden gives a twist on staying. First train past at 7.15am. Waved at the driver every morning!. Just gutted that we cannot go again next year, but will definitely be back in 2024. If you want a peaceful, chilled out holiday look no further than Hawkes Point, any of the properties will blow you away. The train service from St Erth to St Ives is a must. £2.60 all day after 10am. £8.00 return or if you want, as many trips as you like for 4 adults. All in all the best property and view holiday to Cornwall we have ever had. Thank you to Aspects Holidays, and especially to the owners, you were fantastic.Cannot wait to come again in 2024.

Atlantic view was a little piece of paradise. Waking up to the gorgeous views out across the bay towards godrevy lighthouse was a perfect way to start the day. The house was very comfortable, clean and well thought out, the owners were really helpful giving advice re the coast path, train & tides. Being able to head out on the coast path was really lovely- the beach below could only be accessed at low tide via a very haphazard route- which the kids found very exciting- but a walk along the coast path to carbis bay was perfect- and catching the train to st Ives was ideal as well! We loved godrevy- surfing, exploring the rocks & seeing the seal colony (and the cafe their served great quality food) were our favourite days out. The only downsides to this property were the parking- very narrow, steep lane and quite tight spaces- though we did get our 7 seater car parked without too much issue in the daytime we wouldn’t risk it at night- so to be fair it wasn’t as bad as I’d expected from the other reviews- but it did mean we wouldn’t just pop out in the car- we planned to minimise driving in and out! The other downside was the train- while it was really convenient to be able to get the train into st Ives, the novelty value of the train passing from about 7.15 am till about 10.45 each day wore thin quite quickly- though by the end of the week we could ignore it most of the time… these were minor irritations that as we were aware of beforehand they didn’t impact our enjoyment of the holiday. I would definitely stay here again and I have already wholeheartedly recommended it to my friends!

Excellent, clean, modern apartment with superb views of St Ives Bay. The only downside us the unsafe walk up and down over 40 large steps to the property. It is almost impossible to safely carry a suitcase from the car park up to the property. Without a suitcase even people with mild mobility issues will struggle to get to the property. This needs looking at by the local authorities.

Thank you for your feedback following your stay at Atlantic View, Hawkes Point. We are glad you enjoyed the great views from the property. To get to these views though, there are several steps to negotiate which may not be suitable for all. Whilst we do not include the number of steps on the website, we advise that there are several, and that it may not suit those with limited mobility. Our bookings team are always happy to advise you before booking if you have any questions. Katy, Customer Service.

Beautiful property probably not suitable for people with walking difficulties due to steep slope and numerous steps

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time at Atlantic View, Hawkes Point. Like you quite rightly say, the number and steepness of steps at this property should be a careful consideration if booking. We do try to make this as clear as possible on our website description, but for anyone interested in booking this property, if this is a concern, please do not hesitate to contact the sales team for further information. Katy, Customer Services

We stayed in Atlantic View, Hawkes Point. Utterly stunning location, and the lodge was lovely. The beach is further than it looks in the photos so decent walking shoes are needed. But well worth the effort!

Only thing that we wish someone had told us was to bring binoculars so you can spot seals and dolphins!

There are a number of steps up to the lodge, small suitcases are easier and a small car is a a must as it’s very difficult to park (we were aware due to other reviews and the details so this wasn’t an issue).

Overall highly recommend this location!!

Train into St Ives was only £6 return for a family of 4.

And The Badger Inn is a lovely pub for food!

We loved everything about Atlantic View. Inside has everything you could want in a home from home. Spacious and light with a well equipped kitchen and the luxury of a wood burner for cooler evenings. The view is what really makes this somewhere you want to come back to. The sea and beach views are incredible, we saw seals and dolphins; and looking out for the St Ives train was fun too.

We could walk and run from the door, with the coast path just a few metres away and the beach not much further, so didn’t move our car until we left. We can’t wait to go back; it’s the best property we have ever stayed in. Thank you!

Excellent property exceeded expectations and so warm and inviting with the log burner. Views are spectacular and enjoyed the surfers during the day and the lighthouse lights at night. Parking takes a bit of care but can hold three cars if parked well. So convenient for the Coast Path.( A skip across the railway) and only 2 miles to St Ives. Train watching is fun and soon becomes just part of the background. Owner is very helpful and approachable. Would HIGHLY recommend to friends & family. Thank you for letting us send a blessed week here in our favourite place in our favourite county.

We are glad that you enjoyed it so much. It has one of my favourite views in the whole of Cornwall from there! The one parking space provided per property down there, is small and requires a little manoeuvring to get in/out of due to single track access, but we hope that you agree that having the availability of that space is a huge bonus. Hopefully we will see you back here in your favourite place soon. Tanya, Customer Services

We stayed in Atlantic View for our minimoon and it was absolutely stunning. The views are perfect, we really enjoyed seeing the train go past too. The property is ample in size, very clean and has all the amenities you’d need. We’ll definitely be back!

We love staying in Atlantic View. Delightful accommodation, clean and comfortable with the most perfect view. We love it here as it is away from the hustle and bustle of busier towns.

This was a wonderful holiday! The lodge is in a spectacular location, provided everyone is able enough to climb down a steep descent you have a secluded beach right on your doorstep! The lodge is extremely comfortable and well appointed and the views are second to none. Sheila and family.

Absolutely stunning location! We enjoyed the beach, the sea and the SC Path. We have recommended an outside tap for rinsing sand and mud from boots and wetsuits etc. Parking very tight and suitable for small cars only as per all the advice from Aspects (not unexpected). Spent hours watching the tide rise and fall and loved the uninterrupted views. Have already booked again for 2022.

Everything was perfect! We were very grateful for the refreshments found on our arrival. We really valued the high-quality towels, bedding and equipment. The whole lodge afforded privacy and the most beautiful views. This was our second trip and we have booked again for later this year. Thank you to all the Aspects staff for being so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble!

Before we booked at Atlantic View we read the previous reviews about parking and the narrow lane down to it. We booked for the view and position and would sort parking out when we got there. We have a Ford Mondeo car which is quite large and managed the drive down to the parking parking spot no problem. There isn’t much room to turn around at the parking spot if 3 cars are there so at first we drove to the corner and reversed down the second part, but after the first night one family left their car on Headland Road so we could then drive all the way down to the parking spot and there was room to turn around with only 2cars there. Half way down the Lane there is a very tight corner but the Ford Mondeo managed it . The view from Atlantic View was fantastic and we would definitely recommend staying here.

An amazing 'cabin' which is difficult to fault at all. Location is truly stunning. Parking is the only minor downside ... a small car is definitely an advantage!

Completely perfect location, amazing view and a short walk to Carbis Bay beach and the train station which is perfect for trips to St Ives. We had a wonderful time here. There is a coast path down to Porth Kidney Sands and then onwards to Hayle. The accomodation is of a very high standard and has everything to make your trip enjoyable.
Do not under estimate how small the parking space is.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your comments. We could not agree more on how perfect the location of Atlantic View is. When it comes to the parking, this is on the smaller side and will only be suitable for a small car, so we try our very best to give as much information on this on our website and provide guidance within your arrival information on how best to park your vehicle when you arrive. If guests do experience any issues with the size of the space, alternative parking can generally be found on Headland Road which is a short walk to the property. We are glad that you liked this lovely property and we very much hope that we will see you again soon. Lucy, Customer Services

The apartment was lovely, and the view is absolutely stunning, but there is building work going on, also parking is terrible. Owner seems to be wondering around the apartment a lot so not much privacy!

Excellent Excellent and Excellent again, loved every day waking up with that view.

Lived up to our expectations. Fantastic views in an exceptional location. Well worth the price.

Excellent situation and amazing views from the property. The large doors and balcony are fantastic for enjoying the scenery. Property description is very accurate. Very clean and comfortable. Beds comfy. Linen and towels spotless. Showers excellent. Key collection and drop off so easy. Approach road and parking not for nervous drivers! WiFi not the best. Would definitely recommend and hope to return one day.

Open the bifolding doors and listen to the beautiful sound of the sea. Atlantic View provides the most perfect accommodation to unwind and relax.

Lovely views clean and tidy

A really well furnished apartment in a fantastic location.

cosy & comfortable with a fantastic view.

We loved our stay at Atlantic View, the views are amazingly and we were very lucky to have a full week of sunshine. The property itself is very comfortable and spacious in a nice secluded spot but within easy reach of St Ives, you can either walk or catch the train from Carbis Bay. We will definitely return.

A superb property, first class views from both living and sleeping rooms. Yes the parking is a little tricky and the steps are reasonably steep but for us this was no problem and to stay here was complete pleasure. The walk into st ives is so scenic and in the other direction you can walk to the Dunes and onto the stunning Porthkidney beach. We cannot wait to return. Thankyou for a great early spring break.

world class views from hawke point we would love to stay here again

Atlantic View is beautiful and in a stunning location. The passing local trains are a joy. Great base for exploring the area.

This cottage is amazingly well placed for stunning views over the Atlantic and stretches of secluded sandy beach! The furnishings are of a high standard and all you need is provided! Comfy beds and a secluded location.

Just back from a week in this stunning property with spectacular ocean views. This is the second time we've stayed here and it wont be the last. The property is well equipt and comfortably sleeps a 2+2 family with the benefit of modern appliances and an amazing outlook. The access is a bit tricky though reversing down a long narrow drive but it adds to the remoteness of the property so was not a hassle.

Outstanding location to watch the winter storms and waves, from the comfort of the sofa and wood burner

Fabulous holiday home with amazing views and great for family’s

A beautiful, modern cottage with a view of the beach that'll have you jumping out of bed every morning to watch the sunrise!

Lovely property, views to die for, would recommend to friends and family. A great place to get away and unwind :-)

I would publish that the train is passing regularly

Wonderful holiday home, fantastic views, comfy, well equipped, very peaceful, calm and tranquil

Comfortable and well equiped accomodation with fantastic views.

A most idyllic location with absolutely stunning views! We've been coming to Cornwall for 15 years on and off and have stayed in some of the most beautiful property's. I can quite comfortably say Atlantic View has the best views we've had in those many visits to St Ives and Carbis Bay.

The accommodation has everything you need as a family with kids of any age or even for a small group of friends. Easy layout, good sized rooms and they all benefit from that fantastic view. I will definitely be checking availability here first when I'm next heading to Cornwall.

Wonder place to stay. Clean and comfortable with amazing views, will be back next year.

Atlantic View is a really comfortable, modern property with stunning sea views. Great location close to some lovely beaches and coastline. Only a short walk to the train station so great easy access to St Ives. We enjoyed our holiday and would definitely return in the future!

Beautiful retreat, stunning views, high specs, a real escape yet so close to visit all the other beautiful areas ,well worth a visit
