Just returned from a lovely week at Woodbine Cottage and what Ana amazing place!

The cottage is in a lovely large garden on two levels with ponds and a stream, gazebo and garden furniture.

The place is quiet, barely heard neighbours and great for spotting bats, birds, squirrels, frogs etc.

The cottage is large with plenty of space, we loved the cosysnug especially on rainy days and the kitchen is well appointed with everything you need. The milk and scones were a lovely additional touch and much appreciated after a long drive.

The cottage is a short walk to Mullion village where there are lovely little shops to provide supplies and a short walk down into Mullion Cove itself. You can walk from Mullion Cove across the coast path to Polurrian Beach up to Poldhu Cove which is a lovely walk, our dog loved it. The little cafe at Poldhu is great and dog friendly.

We loved staying here and didn't want to come home, a real home from home - we will definitely be coming back to stay here! Thank you.

Holidays in Mullion

Situated in a National Landscape (formerly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) on the Lizard Peninsula, Mullion is a quaint village much unchanged by time. Its harbour, now owned by the National Trust, was built in the 1890’s for the pilchard fishing industry. Half a mile offshore is the uninhabited Mullion Island, home to large colonies of sea birds, also protected by the National Trust.

Famous for its history of smuggling, Mullion is the largest village on The Lizard, with a working harbour and the 15th century church of St Mellanus. This traditional Cornish village is perfect for a relaxing holiday for families or couples alike. Visitors can experience the village lifestyle; pop to the shops for some local produce, purchase cake from the independent cafes and enjoy a drink at the village pub. Additionally, it's a great base for those looking to explore the beautiful scenery on The Lizard. Walk along the South West Coast Path and be treated to some of the best views in Cornwall.

Whilst Mullion is a relatively small village, there’s plenty to do during your holiday. As well as the facilities within the village itself, visitors can pop to the local craft centre, visit one of the nearby beaches, enjoy a round of golf or go kayaking from the harbour.

Did you know...

dogs are welcome at Mullion Cove all year round!

Things to do in Mullion

Chocolate Factory and Craft Centre:

Just above Mullion Cove, you’ll find the Chocolate Factory and Craft Centre. An absolute must if you are staying in Mullion. Home to Trenance Chocolate, you can watch the chocolate being made and choose your favourites from the shop.

The centre also has a selection of lovely shops selling a range of locally made, eco-friednly products and gifts, including skin care products, candles and craft gifts. You can also try your hand at making your own glass artwork at the Mullion Glass Studio and Workshop with Zoe Schoning.

Before leaving the Craft Centre be sure to visit its resident llamas behind the car park.

Mullion Golf Course:

With breathtaking views across the ocean, Mullion Golf Course must be one of the most desirable courses to play golf. The 18-hole course boasts fabulous views throughout, and the 11th tee is uniquely situated on the cliff edge.

Kayaking:

Mullion Cove is the perfect spot for going kayaking. Head out from the cove to explore hidden bays and caves, seeing the coast from a different perspective. If you’re lucky, you may even see seals on your adventure! Book your trip with www.lizardadventure.co.uk

Beaches

Mullion Cove Beach:

Mullion Cove Beach is a small, sheltered cove next to the historic lifeboat station, with a further sandy stretch, accessible at low tide, just around the corner from the harbour. The beach and harbour are owned and looked after by the National Trust. Parking is available at the harbour, along with toilets and a café. Dogs are welcome all year round but the beach is not lifeguarded.

Pollurian Beach:

Pollurian beach is a beautiful west-facing, sandy beach which is partly sheltered by the high cliffs that flank the beach. Though difficult to get to, the beach is popular with locals and visitors alike, and surfers when the swell is good. There is no parking at the beach, so it’s best to park at Mullion and walk the coastal path to the reach the beach. Dogs are welcome outside of the summer season, while lifeguards are present at weekends only, during the summer season.

Poldhu Cove:

Popular with the locals for its café with famous hot chocolates, Poldhu Cove is a wonderful beach for families, also owned by the National Trust. Children can enjoy safely playing in the stream that leads to the sea at this sheltered beach. Visitors can make the most of the facilities available, including a café, surf school and toilets. Lifeguards are present during the summer months.

Beautifully maintained gardens, tranquil setting and space and freedom to relax with your family and dog. Good surrounding walks and access to coastal path and coves. Lovely cricket club too, if you’re lucky enough to be there when they play at home. Would recommend if you want to get away from it all. Lovely and hope to return.

Woodbine cottage is situated in a beautiful setting......once you arrive and enter the correct driveway that is, little difficult to spot the first time, but when you do......wow The gardens are fantastic and the cottage looks stunning. Suffering from PTSD, I needed somewhere secure feeling and peaceful and it was just what I needed. The cottage is very well equipped and we knew instantly we'd made a great choice, so we extended our stay. The complimentary items left to get you started were a blessing and very well received. Due to its location set down from the main road through the village, even on a windy day, it always seemed much calmer set down in the valley next to the stream, it did wonders for me.

Ohh and Mullion Cove is beautiful, a must see.

It's a lovely cottage in georgous surroundings but not far from amenities. Great coop just up the road, village pub, even a pet shop. Would I come back, yes I would and I'll definitely be booking my next break with Aspects. Thank you for your kind consideration and a great holiday

Hope you all enjoy yours
