Everything about The Snug makes the most of it's rustic design, the super-comfy furnishings create charming living areas, which are a joy to dwell in. From cooking up some delights in the unique kitchen, to settling down with a novel in the sitting room, every room in The Snug has been designed with tasteful pieces, that add their own distinctive character. Guests will enjoy the secluded outside space, creating the perfect spot to enjoy the Cornish sunshine long into the evening. Kitted out with a complete outdoor dining set, so you can enjoy your meals al fresco, whether it's breakfast, lunch or supper.

The Snug is loated in a wonderful location, for guests who want to revel in the Cornish lifestyle, tucked away in the cobbled streets of Mevagissey. The coastline is full of beaches, ranging from safe bathing beaches, to secluded coves and wild and rocky hideaways. The village itself offers an array of eateries, shops, and activities for all ages.

Additional information

The Snug is accessed via a cobbled street therefore may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility. Restrictd head height in the second bedroom. No children under 6, WiFi.

 
 

We really enjoyed staying at The Snug.Close to the harbour,shops and restaurants but tucked away enough to enjoy privacy from the crowds.The house is split into three levels with the kitchen and bathroom on ground level,Lounge and main bedroom on the first floor and the second bedroom (with toilet)on the second floor.It has a secluded garden to the back with an open aspect.Parking is a few minutes away in main car park of the village and a permit is given to use for the week.

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Beaches near Mevagissey

Pentewan Beach is the nearest large sandy beach situated a little north of Mevagissey. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach from 1 March to 1 November.

Polstreath Beach is also known as Mevagissey beach. It is located just north of Mevagissey and is accessed via the coastal path and steep steps down to the cove. 

Gorran Haven beach can be reached via the coastal path, or is just a short drive away. Just two miles from Mevagissey, the quaint village of Gorran Haven has some lovely pubs and cafés, and a gorgeous sandy beach which is a great spot for swimming and kayaking.

Walks around Mevagissey

There are some wonderful walks in and around Mevagissey, especially if you take the coastal path. You can head south to Gorran Haven, a small fishing village with a beautiful beach, just two miles from Mevagissey. Alternatively, if you travel north, you can head towards Pentewen, another small village with a lovely beach. From Pentewen, you can take the trail through the woods, or if you prefer, you can hire a bike from Pentewen to explore the woodland on wheels.

Mevagissey Shanty Festival

The Mevagissey Shanty Festival showcases shanty and accapella groups from all over the UK. The event begins at 7pm on the Friday and will continue on the Saturday at 11am. The main stage at Mevagissey Activity Centre also features a Cornish beer festival.
