Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Very good place, clean and tidy. Very recommended.

Lovely Quirky little property, well equipped. Location was fantasic. Would totally recommend.

Excellent accommodation in the centre of Mevagissey. Ideal for a couple (plus dog in our case). We plan to come again as we are regular visitors to the village. Highly recommended.

Chris and Jane Phillipson

Such a beautiful cosy place, great location in the heart of Mevagissey. All the mod cons fabulous use of space and the most comfortable bed!

It’s so lovely, quaint and cosy. The location is superb although parking could be a bit tricky for a larger car and inexperienced driver.

Everything is so well though out in the GIg and we would definitely visit again if we had the opportunity.

A really cosy little cottage in a great location, a few minutes walk from the harbour in Mevagissey. Ideal for walking the coast path in either direction and exploring the wider area by car. Parking can be tricky, but the people holidaying opposite were happy for us to turn in their drive.

Lovely little cottage, but only for sharing with your nearest and dearest (you have to walk through the living / kitchen area to the shower room and there’s nowhere in there to hang your clean clothes!). Talking of hanging clothes, take spare hangers with you. Spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. However, we both found the mattress far too uncomfortable (is it memory foam?) and neither of us slept very well, but that’s a personal preference. Beware the parking. It is a small space and you will need to reverse up a steep, single track lane from the main road to get into it. My partner is Army HGV trained and struggled to get our Discovery Sport in and out. If you’ve got anything bigger than a small car, I recommend using the long stay car park down the road (£4 overnight, but you have to leave by 10am).

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are glad that you enjoyed it there, though we are sorry that you did not find the mattress comfortable. It is very difficult for owners to find something that will suit every guest, with everyone having different preferences, but we will certainly pass on this feedback to the owner and will monitor for further feedback, so thank you for highlighting that. We try to highlight the suitability of the space as best as we can, including in the website description that it may not suit larger vehicles, and showing a photo of the space by the picnic bench next to the property, so that guests can make an informed decision as to whether it will be suitable. As there is nowhere to turn up there, guests will either need to reverse up the lane, or down it, so this may not be something that everyone is comfortable with, but we are glad to hear that you managed. This was a delightful little home for myself and my daughter. Situated perfectly close to all of the amenities yet far enough in the hill to be private and quiet. The local Aspects team were excellent in providing assistance when required. We adored this little place and will definitely return. Mevagissey is utterly perfect.

The property is just superb. Really comfortable, perfect location and incredibly charming. The team at Aspect Holidays were just fantastic and very quick to respond and help out with anything we needed during our stay. We are already dreaming of our next stay

Excellent property, perfect location. Would love to stay again.
