Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Beautiful cottage in an excellent location, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean, the lovely touch of the welcome pack and a personal handmade card was special. We would definitely recommend Shilly Billy, we will be back hopefully.

Comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lovely owners Kim and Zoe left us local treats and a beautiful handmade card. We really enjoyed our stay and didn't have to go far for shops pubs restaurants etc. This was our second visit and we will definitely be booking again

A wonderful stay at this superb cottage. Well looked after, very clean and comfortable and in an excellent location.

Excellent location, the cottage was very clean and comfortable, amenities were also very good. Nice welcome pack with all the information you need for the cottage and local area.

Excellent location, very close to all Mevagissey's amenities, the cottage itself very clean and tidy, to a high standard. Well furnished with everything you would need for a short break or longer. The welcome pack was very thoughtful.

We booked a last minute short break over Easter at Shilly Billy and on arrival, immediately wished we had booked the whole week - it was wonderful from the moment we opened the front door to this lovely family seaside home! A hidden gem: beautifully renovated and stylishly decorated with every need catered for, but so much more besides - as well as providing the basics for our stay and in particular our first night, there were some really thoughtful touches which we really appreciated, unexpected Cornish biscuits, cider and beer in the fridge! but also lovely thick towels, quality toiletries in each bathroom, and even a little step to help get into the beautiful bath. There is no parking at the cottage and a short walk to the car park down a steep cobbled footpath leading onto the road running through Mevagissey, which made carrying luggage a challenge; and the stairs to the first floor are very steep. But this was explained on the website and we are both fit and active and were prepared, so not an issue at all for us. We loved this luxury accommodation in central Mevagissey. Thank you for a very relaxing break.

We had a beautiful time in Shilly Billy cottage and Mevagissey. The cottage was perfectly located, very calm and confortable. We will go back there with a lot of pleasure.

Another excellent stay at Shilly Billy cottage, the usual high standard of cleanliness and welcome, never changes, highly reccomended for stay in Mevagissey, superb location and access to the village.

We had a wonderful second visit in September this year to Shilly Billy cottage. It is absolutely beautiful decor and everything you need in the well equipped kitchen. The stairs are slightly steep but plenty of bannister rails all the way up and at the top to help. Good sized bathroom and a shower room downstairs with toilet which was very helpful. On arrival the cottage is exceptionally clean and very welcoming with scones, Cornish cream and jar of jam. I would recommend this cottage very highly. Thank you very much to Kim & Zoe. Linda and Paul McGoldrick

Shilly Billy, cottage is an excellent clean & tidy cottage, fitted out to a very high standard, close to all the pubs, restaurants & shops of Mevagissey. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and a nice touch very much appreciated.

We have just returned from a week in Shilly Billy Cottage, Mevagissey. The cottage is a perfect location with easy access to the beautiful harbour, shops and restaurants. Although there is no parking at the cottage you can park about 75-100 yards to unload and load your luggage, but maybe difficult if you have mobility problems. Shilly Billy is beautifully decorated and the fixtures and fittings are of very high quality. There is a very comfortable home from home feel about it. We would highly recommend it.

We booked Shilly Billy Cottage for our honeymoon (with our young sons) and the cottage far exceeded our expectations! We had a fabulous time and the finishing touches for the Welcome Basket were just so lovely! The photos, genuinely don't do the Cottage justice. We needed some help with the cot/mattress when we arrived and the team supported us with that as quickly as possible which was great. The parking wasn't on site, which just made sure we had to be super organised with a pram and 2 young boys when we went out for day trips, but overall everything was fabulous and would highly recommend it.

Shilly Billy is a fantastic cottage. Very clean, comfortable bed, excellent location, had everything we needed for a very enjoyable holiday.

Lovely, comfortable and spotless. Well equipped and a real home from home. Would never want to stop anywhere else when visiting Mevagissy.

This was such a charming gem of a holiday cottage! It was deceptively spacious inside and had everything you could need. Very comfortable stay and we would happily come back here in the future. We thought the little gifts for our children were such a lovely idea too.

10 out of 10..The best equipped cottage we have stayed in, in Cornwall, the cleanliness was very good, the Furnishings and fittings were excellent, welcome pack and information was very good and explained everything you needed to know.

We had a lovely stay, it is so close to the quayside, very well equipped kitchen, we enjoyed having breakfast outside at the table. We did not mind walking to the car park. Overall it was relaxing. We would go back to it.

We had a fantastic week at Shilly Billy Cottage which was extremely comfortable, clean and very well equipped in the kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. A lovely quiet location up a quiet back-street, but with pubs/restaurants (advise booking), the bakery and convenience store all within a five minute walk. Great base for walking the coast path, also walking up to Lost Gardens of Heligan. Recommend the bookshop for a great book of local walks, many starting from the village.

A beautiful cottage, every little detail carefully thought through and so homely. Everything looked new, clean and fresh. So convenient for the harbour etc and the small patio area was a real bonus and plenty big enough for 3 to eat or drink outside. Two showers and toilets was a great feature for a family and the snug room was easily big enough for a child under 10 to stay in for the holiday. The welcome basket was a lovely thought as were the little gift bags for the children. Truly fabulous. Only addition I would make is a dishwasher for the ultimate in relaxation! I would absolutely recommend Shilly Billy to others but book restaurants in advance!

Shilly Billy is a credit to the owner spotlessly clean and so comfortable will definitely be booking again

Even though the weather was a bit damp, we loved our stay at Shilly Billy. Really cosy for the two of us and a perfect location for cliff or harbour walks. Places to eat are minutes from the door and we had some lovely meals out. The service from Aspects was amazing and we really appreciate the help we received in sorting a holiday at the last minute. Will definitely book again.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shilly Billy. The layout was easy and comfortable. Less mobile guests may find access a bit challenging. Mevagissey is a great base for walking and touring the area. There are plenty of restaurants catering for both ends of the spectrum. We requested an extra night at the end of our stay and having an Aspects office in the town made this very easy for us to arrange.

A lovely cottage in a prefect location for exploring Cornwall. Mevagissey is a pretty little village with nice shops and restaurants. If visiting in peak season and wanting to eat out, book a table at the restaurants to avoid disappointment.
