We stayed a week at Happy Plaice in Mevagissey in Cornwall. The apartment was right on the water. It was decorated tastefully and was spotless. The fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine were a good size. The bedroom was tight but the big comfy bed more than made up for it. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wished we could stay longer. Loved it and can't recommend it highly enough.

June 2022

This place is great - especially for 2 people. Modern and helps you relax. Great position next to the harbour. (Be aware that it doesn’t have parking but the car park isn’t far - but there again nothing is very far anyway ??). Spotlessly clean and really well appointed. Great views across the harbour with easy chairs to look out - binoculars Included! Bedroom is fine and bed is really comfortable. Bathroom is good size and shower is great. Mevagissey is small but has nearly everything you could need for a long weekend or as a base to travel around. I have used Aspects before and find them really helpful and have no hesitation in recommending them. Happy Plaice is a gem and we will return. It is simply excellent.

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

The welcome pack was excellent. Views over the harbour are very picturesque. All the recent refurbishment is done to a very high standard. Spotlessly clean.
