Corner House Loft Mevagissey

£550 - £1200

Corner House Loft is a gorgeous retreat for two, tucked away right in the heart of Mevagissey and moments from the harbour. We love its palatial, open plan living spaces, super stylish interiors and amazing wet room, with its free standing bath and unique penny floor - each one individually laid by hand! The striking kitchen and dining area lead to the sitting room, and with a sofa each to relax on, it's a very grown up place to be. Bespoke oak and glass stairs lead up to the bedroom with its sumptuous super king size bed; the perfect place to drift off after a day out taking in the sea air in this beautiful part of Cornwall.

Perfect for special occasions or just a luxurious romantic getaway, you won't want to leave this simply stunning loft apartment situated in the heart of this timeless Cornish fishing village. Mevagissey, with its winding streets, pretty harbour and numerous shops and galleries offers plenty to see and do, and a selection of great pubs and restaurants surrounded by breath-taking coastline make it a real foodie destination. Whether it's days out on the beach or kayaking or wakeboarding at nearby Pentewan sands, you will never be short of things to do, that's if you can leave the comfort of Corner House Loft. We had a fantastic stay at the Corner House Loft in Mevagissey. The property is finished to an amazing standard (very bling), its huge, very airy – and feels like a loft apartment. Its also right in the centre of town. All in all one of the nicest places I’ve stayed in Cornwall. Highly recommended

Mr Martin

Holidays in Mevagissey

Wish you were here already? Watch our Mevagissey webcam here>

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

If you are lucky enough to be here during Mevagissey Feast Week in the summer, do take full advantage of the activities being held. Said to be the oldest festival in Cornwall, it attracts exhibitions, live music, parades, a fete and wonderful firework display.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Pentewan Beach is the nearest large sandy beach situated a little north of Mevagissey. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach from 1 March to 1 November.

Polstreath Beach is also known as Mevagissey beach. It is located just north of Mevagissey and is accessed via the coastal path and steep steps down to the cove.

There are some wonderful walks in and around Mevagissey, especially if you take the coastal path. You can head south to Gorran Haven, a small fishing village just two miles from Mevagissey. Alternatively, if you travel north, you can head towards Pentewen, another small village with a lovely beach. From Pentewen, you can take the trail through the woods, or if you prefer, you can hire a bike from Pentewen to explore the woodland on wheels.
