We particularly loved the terrace with views over the roof tops of Mevagissey, which is a real sun trap even in November, and the open fire in the evening. The flat is immaculately kept by the owner Marilyn who is a warm host with excellent local knowledge. Am's flat is only a two minute walk from the centre of Mevagissey but it's elevated position makes it an extremely peaceful place to relax.

October 2018

Beautiful cottage, clean and well decorated. Great location, can’t fault anything. We would happily return tomorrow if we could! Marilyn, the owner was lovely and welcoming. A cream tea was waiting for us when we arrived...perfect!

Holidays in Mevagissey

Wish you were here already? Watch our Mevagissey webcam here>

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

If you are lucky enough to be here during Mevagissey Feast Week in the summer, do take full advantage of the activities being held. Said to be the oldest festival in Cornwall, it attracts exhibitions, live music, parades, a fete and wonderful firework display.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Beaches

Pentewan Beach is the nearest large sandy beach situated a little north of Mevagissey. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach from 1 March to 1 November.

Polstreath Beach is also known as Mevagissey beach. It is located just north of Mevagissey and is accessed via the coastal path and steep steps down to the cove.

Walks

There are some wonderful walks in and around Mevagissey, especially if you take the coastal path. You can head south to Gorran Haven, a small fishing village just two miles from Mevagissey. Alternatively, if you travel north, you can head towards Pentewen, another small village with a lovely beach. From Pentewen, you can take the trail through the woods, or if you prefer, you can hire a bike from Pentewen to explore the woodland on wheels.

Beautiful cottage, clean and well decorated. Great location, can’t fault anything. We would happily return tomorrow if we could! Marilyn, the owner was lovely and welcoming. A cream tea was waiting for us when we arrived...perfect!

August 2018

Lovely to have been met by Marilyn, shown to our parking place and then our bags being taken in her car to the property! The cream tea waiting in the fridge was very welcome too!! She was very easily contactable throughout our whole stay and provided help and advice when needed. Lots of homely touches in the flat which were much appreciated. Would definitely book again with this or any other Aspect property.

July 2018

The cottage was very pretty, clean and tidy, well equipped and very cosy and in a great location for access to the harbour and shops. The owner was so very helpful and welcoming with regard to anything we needed assistance with.

It’s in a great location with lovely views over the town below and can be accessed easily without having to go through the town with your car. It’s just a lovely place to stay we had a wonderful week.

June 2018

Very lovely stay and the owner couldn't have been more helpful

May 2018

This cottage is perfectly situated just above the village on the hillside and overlooks all the rooftops and surrounding valley. A couple of minutes down a steepish path or narrow lane through the houses, both leading to the Fountain Pub & harbour, great for tea or ice cream on the harbour benches & watch whats going on.

Cottage has a terrace with picnic bench, ideal for eating out or just catching the view with a cuppa.

Parking (there is a charge) in an allocated space in an adjacent street which means you can miss all the holiday traffic through town or park in the large Willow car park near town.
