Garden House
Helford River

£492 - £1200 per week

Garden House is an ideal location for those seeking peace and tranquillity. Nestled in a valley surrounded by trees and open countryside, it is a wonderful spot to just do nothing for a few days. Enjoy sipping your morning coffee and watching the abundance of birdlife, or just potter around the garden, enjoying the pond and the beautiful plants. The garden swing is the perfect, shady, spot out of the sun and the decking is a real suntrap for those lazy afternoons. The conservatory has lovely garden views, perfect for relaxing with a glass of something cool and a good book. Four legged friends are bound to enjoy the large, enclosed, garden too and there are a myriad of glorious walks from the doorstep, which are dog friendly. Star gazing on the decking on a clear night is a must, the lack of light pollution create some spectacular skies. Garden House allows one to take some time out, leaving stresses behind and enjoying a slower pace. One could even indulge in some therapeutic forest bathing in the surrounding woods.

Being immersed in nature is a real tonic and may compel you to go exploring. Why not meander down to the Helford River for a quick paddle or enjoy a walk through Bosahan woods to the marvellous Slice cafe for breakfast. Constantine village itself is only a short walk away with a couple of shops, a fabulous off licence and the Tolman Centre offering arts performances, films and a whole host of community activities. Equidistant from Falmouth and Helston, for days out in bustling towns, and a short drive from the wonders of the Lizard peninsula, Garden House offers a warm welcome after a day of exploring.

Holidays in Helford River

Helford River is a large estuary nestled between Falmouth and the Lizard Peninsula, stretching almost 50km, up to the old port of Gweek. You’ll find a plethora of hidden beaches, stunning scenery and picturesque villages.

Renowned for its micro-climate, this part of the south coast benefits from a balmy climate, where tropical plants flourish. Experience this for yourselves at one of the beautiful sub-tropical gardens on the Helford River.

With numerous walks and waterside pubs, you can spend your days exploring different parts of the river, discovering hidden creeks and ending each day at a different Cornish pub.

Did you know...

Frenchman's Creek inspired the Daphne du Maurier novel of the same name?

Seal Sanctuary

The old port of Gweek is at the head of the Helford River and is now home to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, a well known family attraction which rescues all sorts of unwell seal pups and sea lions, aiding their recovery and releasing them back into the wild.

Trebah and Glendurgan gardens are close by and bloom beautifully in early spring and summer, making the Helford River a perfect location to visit all year around. With beaches stretching down on to the river side it's the perfect spot for a picnic!

Boat Trips

The best way to experience the whole of the Helford Passage is to take the to water and enjoy a boat trip, of which there are many available.
