Goonvrea Granary is a delightfully cosy one bedroomed property located on former farm land about 20 minutes walk from St. Agnes town centre to the east, and 30 minutes walk to Chapel Porth beach to the west.

In peaceful surroundings, the property was refurbished in 2015/2016 and has been beautifully decorated. The 'wet room' is downstairs as you enter the property. and contains a WC and a thermostatically controlled power shower. Also downstairs to the right is the bedroom which is clean, fresh and cosy, and has a king-size bed and plenty of storage for personal belongings.

Upstairs is the small but very well fitted kitchen area, leading from the delightful sitting area with beautiful views of the landscape to the south. There is a small tv in the sitting area fed by Freeview via a regular type of tv antenna fixed to the outside of the building.

The owners are very friendly and helpful people and are very appreciative of good feedback from guests. We had no concerns during our 5-day stay in the early part of July 2018. We are sure that the owners would be swiftly responsive to any concerns, had there been any.

We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at the Goonvrea Granary for couples who would like a short relaxing stay, away from city life for a few days.

July 2018

Goonvrea Granary completely met our expectations. It was exactly as in the description. Very clean, comfortable, modern and bright. Would definitely book again.

St Agnes Holidays

St Agnes provides the perfect base to explore the North Cornwall coastline. With stunning scenery on the doorstep, and a plethora of activities available all year round, there's something to do for everyone. Take a stroll along the streets which are full of quaint shops and cafes or for those looking to be a bit more adventurous, why not try your hand at surfing with one of the local surf schools.

The beaches of Trevaunance Cove, Trevellas Porth, Chapel Porth, and Porthtowan are all closeby, which are all worthy of a visit and each offering something different.

Whats On

A 'must see' event among both locals and visitors is the St Agnes Bolster Festival, which tells the story of the bolster giant which was known to terrorise the locals. This takes place on the May bank holiday weekend each year.

St Agnes Carnival takes place each year during the first week of August. Locals gather along with tourists who have travelled especially for this special occasion.

Surfing

Located on the North coast of Cornwall, St Agnes is a popular surf spot among both locals and visitors. It is more suited to advanced surfers, however if you fancy a go, there are two excellent surf schools nearby to show you the ropes. The nearby beaches at Porthtowan, Perranporth and Portreath are all good for surfing too, so you'll have plenty to choose from when deciding where to go. Read more on our blog about the best surf spots in Cornwall. St Agnes is also home to the World Bellyboarding Championships which take place each year at St Agnes beach. Find out more about bellyboarding on our blog.

Everything was great! Brand new furnishings, very comfortable bed, close to great walking paths and beaches! Simply brilliant!

September 2017

We had a brilliant few days staying here, it is unspoilt, comfortable, spotlessly clean and everything provided you could wish for! We found the owner extremely pleasant and helpful but unobtrusive. The bed was really comfortable and we slept like babies after going out exploring all the beautiful beaches nearby! Plenty of fresh air and exercise, a welcome break from the rat race! Only downside - having to go back home and leave that beautiful place!! Thank you so much.
