Sleeping up to eight guests over two floors, Garras is situated in a peaceful valley in Porthtowan. With a hot tub to enjoy and soak away the stresses of the daily life, you will be able to unwind and regenerate, ready to embrace a week or more on the north Cornish coast. Open plan living makes the perfect space for spending time together and in only a short walk, you can be on the beach and soaking up the atmosphere of this popular seaside village.
The village has everything you need to stay local, but conveniently situated near St Agnes and only eight miles north of Truro, Porthtowan is a great base for exploring further afield. Set within a world heritage mining area, you can see the historic engine houses dramatically positioned on the cliffs overlooking the beach. For keen walkers the south west coastal path is right on the doorstep, so you can take in the sights on foot.

electric heating, steps lead up to the hot tub which may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, please ensure children are supervised at all times when using the balcony and hot tub, the walk to Porthtowan and the beach is via the single track access road, which is uphill on the way back, WiFi, one dog welcome, short breaks available.
Garras, Towan Valley is a really nice place to stay. Lots of room and the hot tub is really nice although if there are more than 4 of you, you won't be able to all go into together.
Clean and tidy all round. Bedrooms are a nice size, draws in all rooms.
All bathrooms were clean and tidy.
Nice location, only a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Fantastic house in lovely setting. Hot tub a brilliant added extra especially after a long day out exploring the local area or beaches. Highly recommend both the pub and cafes in Porthtowan . Beach is beautiful and great for watching the surfers. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Situated between St Ives and Newquay, Porthtowan is well located for those looking to visit these popular coastal towns. It’s also secluded enough to escape the crowds and relax in a hidden area of Cornwall. Close to Perranporth and St Agnes, Porthtowan is perfect for exploring the sandy beaches in this area and enjoying the stunning views along the South West Coast Path.
'Porth' means 'beach' and 'towan' means 'dunes' in Cornish.

Close to the rugged cliffs and a stunning sandy beach, yet sheltered by adjoining rolling fields; Porthtowan is in the heartland of traditional Cornwall. There is a vibrant surf scene in the village with a nearby surf school, surf hire facilities and lots of opportunity to enjoy outdoor pursuits. The Blue Bar beachside restaurant sits literally on the beach and serves delicious meals and bar snacks. There is plenty of outdoor seating where you can enjoy watching the waves and is exceptionally beautiful in the evening as the sun sets.
Nearby, you also have two pubs; the 17th century Victory Inn, and the Unicorn, both serving up fresh local food.
Situated on the South West Coast Path, Porthtowan is ideal for those looking to explore. Coastal walks in this area offer stunning ocean views but venture inland and you’ll find many examples of Cornwall’s mining heritage. Take the circular walk from Porthtowan to Chapel Porth and you’ll find Wheal Coates engine house and the mining remains of Chapel Combe.
There are seasonal dog restrictions on Porthtowan beach between 15th May and 30th September between the hours of 10am and 6pm. Outside of these hours it is dog friendly as well as being dog friendly between 1st October and 14th May. If you do bring a dog, the nearby beach of Bassett’s Cove is to the west of Porthtowan and allows dogs on the beach all year round.
