Hartson House is located just a mile away from Newquay town centre, close to a plethora of sandy beaches and coastal paths, and benefits from an abundance of space and comfortable furnishings that make it a perfect family home from home. With an en suite to every bedroom and a large well equipped kitchen that opens out onto a gorgeous sunny deck and enclosed garden, the children can be free to play whilst the grown-ups catch up over a coffee before exploring the town.

A five minute walk will take you to the beautiful Lusty Glaze beach with a delicious restaurant right on the sand, where you can enjoy locally caught sea food and the more adventurous can have a go at abseiling the cliff face or tightrope walking. Watergate Bay is a fifteen minute drive away where you will find the glorious two mile stretch of sandy beach and abundance of water activities.

Things to do in Newquay

Surfing

Regarded as the home of the UK’s surf scene, and offering consistently good surf throughout the year, Newquay is great place to surf whether you’re a first-timer or seasoned pro. Beaches

When staying at a holiday cottage in Newquay, you won’t be short of beaches to choose from, with nine sandy beaches on the doorstep. All of Newquay’s beaches are lifeguarded in the summer, providing a safe place to spend the day soaking up the sun.  

Watergate Bay and Fistral beach welcome dogs all year round, making Newquay an ideal location to spend a week with your four legged friend.

Attractions

With such an abundance of attractions in and around Newquay, it’s the perfect place for a family holiday at any time of year. Newquay Zoo offers a great day out at any time of year, as do the nearby Screech Owl Sanctuary, and the Blue Reef Aquarium. Holywell Bay Fun Park provides guaranteed fun for the family whatever the weather.

If you fancy something a bit different, fishing trips and sea safaris are available, from which you can take in the scenery from a different angle. You may even be lucky enough to catch a sight of seals and dolphins!

Newquay’s links golf course overlooks Fistral beach and is regarded as one of the best golf courses in the county, providing a different challenge everyday depending on the weather.

Events in Newquay

The Boardmasters surf and music festival in August sees thousands descend on Newquay's Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay to watch surf competitions and live music.

Newquay's Fish Festival which takes place each year in September, sees three days of foodie fun, from cookery demonstrations, to fly fishing tutorials and live entertainment.

Newquay Beer Festival gives you the opportunity to sample over 50 ales and enjoy live music.

Eating out in Newquay

Newquay's vibrant nightlife offers something for everyone, with a huge selection of eateries. Jamie Oliver’s ‘Fifteen Cornwall’ at Watergate Bay is well worth a visit, as are the many beach cafe's and restaurants serving up locally caught seafood.
